Enjoyed this! I reminded me of that old helicopter game (I used to play as a kid at school), but in a good way, a better way! Some trippy music in the background and you could get lost in this game

rhewid 2019-04-30 00:21

Really strong entry. Great art altough its only a rectangle but it fits so good with those effects. I like puzzlegames where colors are involved!

Cheers!

neowedge 2019-04-30 00:36

I love the concept! Very original and funny. Congratulations!

pablotitan 2019-04-30 05:48

Thanks for feedbacks! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it :D It was my first Ludum Dare and I'm really proud of it, though it's short, but I hope to add more levels soon! ;)

pablotitan 2019-04-30 05:51

Though I didn't make it to compo, I share the code anyway: https://github.com/paweljarosz/LudumDare44 It's made from scratch in Defold, I will soon release a video with the development recorded! ;D

ohfiddlediddle 2019-04-30 09:39

I really enjoyed this. Very pretty game, and very well written as well. Keep up the great work, well done. :D

akirassasin 2019-04-30 09:50

Love the minimalist particle effects. Thought it's going to be a normal thrust-like game until the cool puzzles appear!

huyta 2019-04-30 09:51

A really cool puzzle game, really like it

pranjalbisht 2019-04-30 09:56

Very cool concept! I found the level progression a bit confusing, especially when all 4 types of bodies/switching are introduced at once. The movement mechanic was really fun, conserving fuel/life with short bursts for changing directions. The theme, I'm not sure where currency comes in. It's like a trade in lives, I suppose.

wolderado 2019-04-30 10:26

Good game! I had fun. Effects were really nice. Maybe those particles surrounding the screen should change from red to blue while in your fire form

pablotitan 2019-04-30 10:29

Thanks for feedbacks, guys! :D I wish there would be more puzzles, but the time was short, therefore I made some shortcuts (sorry @pranjalbisht!) Currency here are your elements floating around you - it is the only thing you can give to perform actions in game - moving, switching triggers, pushing objects, etc. ;)

paul59 2019-04-30 12:34

That is a really neat little game (and nice to see a Defold game in there)!

kajetan-andrzejak 2019-05-01 10:53

Interesting little mechanic of getting smaller and needing to touch other "bodies" in order to grow and survive! Eventhough the movement system is really simple, I think it fits really good to this game! GJ!

pablotitan 2019-05-01 19:36

Thanks! I'm really cheered up! Your games are awesome too! :D

pixscope 2019-05-01 20:25

Nice ambiance and fun gameplay !

bentebent 2019-05-01 20:42

I really like the mechanics and ideas behind this game. Controls feel tight and the visuals are unique and interesting. The lack of sound kinda kills the mood but other than that, top notch work.

pablotitan 2019-05-01 21:01

@bentebent, yeah, I'm definitely not a sound composer :D but adding some ambience music in the background and simple sound fx from freesound.org could be a good idea, when I'll come to polishing it ;) thanks for feedback!

ougrouk 2019-05-02 10:38

I enjoyed this puzzle game a lot. It's tricky skillful and goes with the theme perfectly. You should consider finishing the game ^^

rgarbati 2019-05-02 10:52

Very nice game, good use of the theme ! Well played it is a super smart little game !

black-potion 2019-05-02 11:00

Cool idea, cool effects, and cool explaining tutorial. I understood all the mecanics really fast and make me want to go to the end to see a full level without explanation. Soooo I finished your game, and I will wait for a next level  .

douglima 2019-05-02 23:11

Nice entry, the simple art with good direction. Gameplay is smooth and the mechanics are interesting. Apart from audio it feels like a finished game. Good job!

pablotitan 2019-05-03 09:24

@ougrouk Thanks! I want to, right after Play+Rate! :D @black-potion I'm redesigning the tutorial to be more condensed, but also, to explain all elements one by one and not all remaining two in a single stage. @douglima I'm considering making some ambience music with other sound effects - sounds is an inseparable part of games :D

miu 2019-05-03 20:06

I liked this game, I'll found it better if there was a sound when you move but you probable had no time to add that

prodigalson 2019-05-04 13:58

I really enjoyed the effects, graphics, and aesthetics. Simple in design by conveys the very where the idea of being in space. I like the puzzle mechanics and how your life is your fuel too. Would be nice to update this with sounds and music (ambiance like music to continue to convey sense of lifeless space) :D

feips 2019-05-06 15:13

I enjoyed the graphics and the gameplay (even though it took me some time to figure it out). Some music would have been nice. Nice job!

icxon 2019-05-08 23:52

Did someone mention sounds? Love the particles and overall style. I was not sure when to use blue form, but it was pretty fun to play.

Puzzle games heavily rely on level design, and I really liked the levels given. I think you need more of them to provide more complete experience from this game.

My playthrough:

pablotitan 2019-05-09 05:53

@icxon Great gameplay! I was really streesed when you were getting smaller and smaller and still didn't trigger the doors, but you managed to do that in the last moments! :D I'm designing currently more levels, so soon I'll publish a new pack of levels :D Thank you veeeeery, very much, for your review! ;)

sergi-montaner 2019-05-09 22:40

The game is fun. Extra points for using Defold engine. White walls could be prettier. Regarding the frozen objects, it would be more fun if you have to throw particles to them, thus moving in the oposite direction.

pablotitan 2019-05-10 05:38

@sergi-montaner I was thinking about it too! :D In general, every body should be also affected by the propelled particles, that would be great ;)

cameron-dunlap 2019-05-13 22:37

amazing idea, but I kept getting confused as to what I was doing either way. I still managed to beat it, though, as you can easily beat most levels by being fairly conservative with elements.

glimaleite 2019-05-18 13:49

Woah, I thought I was ending the game, when I realized it was just the tutorial! Huge congrats on the game, it has some very interesting ideas and you've managed to implement so many different things, it's amazing. There were times that I wasn't sure what to do, but eventually I understood after experimenting a bit. Also, I had some trouble remembering the colors and their respective mechanics, you should probably teach them one at a time.

Once again, congrats!

atomfox0213 2019-05-21 15:46

Very good and polished, could even be a non-Ludum Dare game with only minor improvements. One thing that I found annoying was the fact that when you die you have to restart the entire game and not just that level.
