I really could not figure where to go with this, there really is very little interactable objects in the scene to begin with.

iamkraya 2016-12-13 13:23

I gave extra points for using your own engine ^-^

Whilst it's impressive I cant really say it was too fun. I spent most of the time trying to pick up objects that I couldn't that look the same as objects I could. Avoiding the zombies became more of a chore than anything.

IT sticks to the theme well and the movement felt good though, overall I'd give it a 3/5, another day or so to polish out some of the issue and it's an easy 4 :D

Good Job!

Sorta enjoyable, the music and lighting really made the skeletons scary (to me at least :)). Otherwise though, the strategy for getting out is really unclear without trial and error, after 3 tries, I got to the door, but didn't have the key! So I stopped because I had no way of knowing that I needed to get a key. The graphics are also pretty nice. Next steps: Make throwing physics less finicky, make clear the way to get out of the room.

***** Spoilers below *****

It took me a while to find out that the dark corridor led to another room because it's impossible to see.

I was surprised (in a good way) by the zombies when they first showed up. But when they started flooding the room it was impossible to get a breather to try and figure out how to escape the room.

At first I thought the sawblades were the only things that could kill them, but it turns out any object can kill them (even the cups!). It's too difficult though because some zombies take two hits and there are so few objects in the room to throw (more than the number of zombies even!) and picking up a new object every time takes too long.

The controls are awful. I'm not sure why E was pick up and left click was throw when they could have been the same button.

Nailed the mood and theme though.

Holy ****, zombies !

The Mood was good, but I feel there are a bit too many zombies.

somnolentpumpkin 2016-12-13 15:32

Even though I could tell the game had a dark theme, I was not expecting it when the first zombie appeared. I jumped so badly.

2016-12-13 16:04

Well pretty good engine, good work. Maybe it can be improve with some work on normal mapping and collision (while taking object) to be even better i guess. But well done on it !

The game itself still looking for the escape.

uliana-galich 2016-12-13 17:19

Can't wait to see your next game!
Really very good job

darkhaul 2016-12-13 17:20

Nailed the mood at first, particularly liked the audio, however seemed impossible to achieve end goal (escape the room, not sure if I was even doing it right?). There were too many zombies towards the end and no effective way to deal with them. However appreciated being able to kill the zombies with cups, but in doing so killed the mood a little. :(

Also I believe those "zombies" are direct rips of the ghouls from fallout 3/NV, you should probably opt out of the graphics catagory in that case.

endingchaos 2016-12-13 17:45

The zombies gave me a real spook! A+

muriel 2016-12-13 17:49

Wow are you serious??? You make me jump from my chair when the first zombie appeared :) Jaja well done :)

tomboogaart 2016-12-13 17:56

this is a cool game

axavian 2016-12-13 18:04

Wow that was unexpected :D I saw the comments about zombies but I wasn't expecting to be jump-scared by one that way :D
Great job with game and engine!

cxsquared 2016-12-13 18:06

I liked the idea behind it but I couldn't find the key for the door anywhere. I tried about 5 ties and could find anything. I enjoyed the game though it was just a bit to hard for me. Also props for using your own engine.

kaiseangames 2016-12-13 18:27

I shat my pants. :) It's slow at start, but if you don't kill them, they simply zerg you.

norrimo 2016-12-13 20:15

It's great to see that you used your own engine.
The zombies were to the end to many for me. Or the room was too small for these number of enemies.
As I picked up the big box in the middle of the room I fought I can hide me in it because the camera clipped trough. xD Would be a nice feature to hide yourself for the zombies until you are out of their view.

versatilebox 2016-12-14 00:00

Nice mood.
It was scarier than I thought

tartlegames 2016-12-14 01:37

yeah it got me. I didn't expect something to jump out. Good work! I survived for a bit whilst throwing the saw blade around. I wasn't sure if there was a way to win so I eventually let myself die. Great work though. With a little more work for the combat this could be going places. Or what if you have to solve a room puzzle while avoid and fighting off the zombies?

asghardian 2016-12-14 02:35

I found it very interresting and nice. The gameplay is a little messy, but the visual is certanly dope.

Congratulations for using your own engine.

Keep the great work!

jesseycool 2016-12-14 05:56

Spooky game, it sared me. I will leave this on my computor to play on school. Well done.

phoenix1987 2016-12-15 04:00

First of all Congrats on the use of your own engine. That was a nice creepy game. Very fun to play. The music the lighting, sound effects. All well timed and developer. Great job on your ludum dare entry and keep up the great work

tifu 2016-12-18 01:07

I kept falling down and couldn't get out... unless I'm mistaken that I'm supposed to jump up stacked boxes to get out. Found the key though at least =D

mirta000 2016-12-21 04:40

did not expect to find zombies and that first one appearing was quite a jump scare. Don't really know how you get out of that big factory like room though.

jupiter_hadley 2017-01-08 19:11

Very creepy game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/7ZuTwiufN-U
