The game has such a great idea. And it really pulled that GTA 1-2 feeling with the graphics and camera movement. Great job.

hadesfury 2019-05-01 09:33

You level is awesome. I really liked you game. Really well made and not event a bug seen

svdvorak 2019-05-01 09:41

I also had an idea about making a game about streaming but I think you made it better than I probably would have if I did it. Pretty fun and gets tricky keeping all your viewers though I was able to get $6.593. Though you get a bit too stuck when touching a wall, would have liked if you could slide a bit to more easily get out. But you really nailed the driving feel otherwise! Good job!

xahell 2019-05-01 09:49

I genuinely liked it.

- The camera work/level design is impressive, good mastering of the perspective. - There is a game feel

Ah, by the way, I am that kind of player:

Great idea!"Their life is my currency"

cpv 2019-05-01 09:52

Very interesting implementation of the theme, somehow original and fun.

gaming-night 2019-05-01 11:59

Thank you all for your encouraging comments! @xahell The trafic is here to prevent you to reach the map limit, did you passed it finally? @svdvorak $6.593 is a quite nice score actually! Sorry for these walls, we might make it more bouncy...

xahell 2019-05-01 12:01

@gaming-night Yeah I passed it, the screenshot was my attempt to come back into the game, as you can see with the car direction ^_^

codingninjajoas 2019-05-01 16:24

Good game!!

olavdeng2 2019-05-01 18:43

Great game with great polish. I do however feel that it didnt follow the theme to the fullest, but other than that, it is a great game and have no complaints really.

gaming-night 2019-05-01 19:39

@codingninjajoas Thanks !

@olavdeng2 Yeah, undoubtedly we should have make this clearer, but we ran out of time. For our defense, here is our initial thoughts regarding the theme: as a live streamer, you literally share your life to earn money (that is to say, your life is currency). But as viewers get more and more accustomed to and bored by your 'driving routine' videos, you have to build up more thrilling and crazy moments, which leads you to illegal actions, like destroying urban stuff and killing pedestrians. This is the infernal circle of the streamer.

ianlux 2019-05-01 19:41

Very interesting idea overall! Liked it.

olavdeng2 2019-05-02 09:06

@gaming-night Ah, that makes things a lot clearer. Ok, then it is an excellent idea with the theme now that it is explained to me :P good work!

ashtrail 2019-05-02 20:12

Excellent entry ! The twist on the theme is one of the best I've seen so far. The music switching is really great (and it's cool you had the time to fit it in). The mechanics are smooth and the game is pretty fun.

Great job !

silkworm-sweatshop 2019-05-03 15:20

That was pretty fun! You definitely nailed part of the old school GTA feel. The way the npc look and squashing them really brought me back. Some traffic and a bit more things to do would've been nice. Driving felt nice too although I wish backing up would be a bit faster. Music was great as well!

mooseandloon 2019-05-03 15:21

I really like this approach to the theme. It feels unique (and a little too real) and gives an interesting spin on games like GTA. I think the music and the colour scheme all added to the execution of the theme in a fun and unsettling way.

gaming-night 2019-05-03 15:31

@ashtrail @silkworm-sweatshop @mooseandloon Many thanks of your warm comments, we are very happy to see that we worked in the right direction: hours spent on car driving balance to have a feeling we like and also many working time on the question of the theme and how to adapt it in a game.

kaisean-games 2019-05-03 15:34

But it was when I drover over somebody and the dubstep started that I knew I wanna rate this game high.

In all aspects, extremely polished.

Very well done.

thecritterscove 2019-05-04 01:34

Very well polished game for a jam. The controls were mostly good, but backing up was a bit cumbersome. Nice clean graphics, and good use of audio.

aditya-kumar 2019-05-04 21:05

This game is really great! I love the camera, the music, and the drifting feels really satisfying. Making the menus part of the phone app was a nice touch, I'm impressed you had time for it. I wouldnv'e liked to see the theme explored a little more fully, here the viewers basically acted as life, but you couldn't really spend them on things, so the currency element more just acted as a score as opposed to being currency. Overall, really great game!

nomus 2019-05-04 21:06

there was some times where the car made one with some building while breaking the speed limit and made me restart but it was a cool game nonetheless. The concept is really cool !

sahoskins1 2019-05-04 21:33

I did enjoy this game. Did find a game breaking bug though. Car got stuck on another car and the controls stopped responding until I closed and re-opened the game. Fun concept mind.

geckoo1337 2019-05-04 21:37

Very interesting implementation of the theme. Nice physics for a little cool game. The main gameplay is really fun with good vibes. However I would say that the music which you use doesn't fit the game - too quiet (it could be fine for a match3 maybe). Now problem for me - you did a great entry ++

cheesepencil 2019-05-04 21:44

Those little people keep getting too close when I'm skidding past them... great entry

stefan-jovanovic 2019-05-04 21:48

The most fun I had in this LD. Graphics are amazing as well as the camera movement. Only problem I had is that when going at high speed, car would be stuck in the building so i had to restart the game few times. Other than that, great entry.

miltage 2019-05-04 21:56

Driving controls felt really good, I like the music transition when you did something exciting. Made me miss the old top down GTA titles from my youth.

luckyfeathers 2019-05-04 22:05

Awesome! Really fun to play, art and music work great, and the game just feels really good. One complaint I have is that there's not really any negative effect of hitting people? Sure, you lose 100, but you also get 200 plus whatever drifting points you get. The whole point should be to try to drift close to people but not hit them. Aside from that, though, I can't really think of any negatives of the game. Well done!

re-markable 2019-05-04 22:07

Oh god, I killed them all...

randomhuman 2019-05-04 23:10

Fun game. I like the way the music changes when you hit somebody. It was telling me that I was losing points for doing that, but it didn't actually seem to be the case. I didn't mind anyway, it was a good strategy for me because I suck  Great game anyway, and kinda topical.

yadi 2019-05-04 23:16

fun game! I literally feel like my life is on the line lol. fast and furious baby

owlycode 2019-05-04 23:16

I liked the approach and the criticism of our society. The music that changes based on the action is great and the arts look nice. I'm not sure about the theme though. Also, I had hard time controlling the car at higher speeds. Maybe the camera should zoom out a little bit when going fast. Otherwise this is a great entry!

pcoridan 2019-05-05 01:28

Well, totally got stuck in the first few seconds, audience didn't like that haha. This was pretty good. Controls and the car felt great to drive and the camera was perfect. If you hit something it was a little tough to get off it, like the side of a building. I was waiting for the police to show up :P That would of been a good show for my viewers. I could see this being a game people would pick up if it was fleshed out. Keep up the awesome work.

gaming-night 2019-05-05 08:25

Thank you all for your warm feedback. We are very happy to see you having fun with GTApp! As noticed by some of you, there are a few collision bugs we did not managed to fix in time. Nice to hear that they are not big issues.

ace17 2019-05-05 13:20

OMG this one is so fun! Good controls, music, and gameplay! Driving the car feels great, and the interactive music really adds to the mix!!

I'm removing one star because I got stuck (twice!) in a building, and there was no way to restart (even after my life went to zero, the game restarted at the exact same stuck-in-building position! I had to reload the webpage) :-/

awesomealliterationalliance 2019-05-05 22:10

Fun game. I love the GTAII feel of it. The controls feel smooth and add a lot to the feel of the game. I Really like the Tutorial at the beginning! You can read it and get used to the gameplay, or you can just drive past it. Projecting the theme onto influencer culture was a pretty smart idea. Great work!

palsina 2019-05-06 11:37

I love the idea of currency understood as sharing your life, I had a similar concept at the beggining but couldn't come up with a good game orround it. I also like the clean look, of the city, it's a really good entry

mrbrooms 2019-05-06 12:29

Amazingly funny but what can we do with money ?

I need to do something more ! pls feed me !

gaming-night 2019-05-06 19:51

@mrbrooms Thank you for your comment. In an ideal world, in this game you could find cars, clothes, etc. to buy. Like in GTA actually. But you know, three days...

pusheeneiro 2019-05-06 21:38

Very nice idea. :red_car:

lexyvil 2019-05-07 03:10

Amazing concept, it really worries me what people can do on live streams, haha. I got stuck in a wall one time. Made it with $8,930~

gaming-night 2019-05-07 19:31

@lexyvil Great score! Have you find our home-made rocket league? We are very happy to hear that our interpretation of the theme speaks to you :)

gaming-night 2019-05-07 19:37

@palsina @awesomealliterationalliance @owlycode @yadi Thank you for your warm feedback. We really appreciate that you enjoyed our interpretation of the theme: it is very important for us to do a game that speak to people and we were affraid to fail. so we :)

gaming-night 2019-05-07 19:43

@aditya-kumar Hi, thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate that. About the currency: actually the currency is not the viewer number, it is the money you get. We tried to read the theme as "your time" (= "your life") that you can convert into "$$" (= "currency"). I guess we could make this clearer in the game... any suggestion is welcome!

flying-dog-fish 2019-05-08 12:25

I just made 16883$ by driving around like a maniac and running over people sideways. This game is so much fun, a perfect tribute to the original GTA 1 & 2. Driving feels great, sound effects are really good and the music fun. It's not exactly on theme, but it's not totally off it either.

dreamingdice 2019-05-13 11:55

Ran over a guy and had bruce willis donate 383 bucks. 10/10 would run over people for donations again. In a more serious note, really interresting take on the theme. Has to be one of the more original ideas out there. My only complaint is that the goal is not really clear, if it has none and its just an arcadey "play for high score" feel then I may have missed that and its my fault. Good work regardless. bruce.png

paulo-brunassi 2019-05-13 12:41

Wow, this is a great entry! It fits the theme perfectly and the gameplay is so much fun! Good job guys

ransom 2019-05-13 14:53

This is fun! But I feel like the camera really needs to be ahead of the car. Because it lags behind, it gives no time to react to incoming obstacles. I couldn't see what was coming, hit a wall at high speed, and got the car partially stuck inside of the building. A handbrake would be cool too.

Nice work!

justmars 2019-05-13 18:09

My favorite game of the jam so far. Incredibly well designed and polished for such a little amount of time. Actually feels like a game!

coleslaughter 2019-05-17 03:49

This was super fun and cathartic. :) I like the classic GTA style you got goin' on here, and the hard cut from peaceful music to dubstep was absolutely hilarious!

It did seem a liiiiiiiiittle too easy to keep you combo up, though? All I had to do was find a group of people to run over and I'd be set for a long time.

I realized later that I'd get bonus followers for *narrowly missing* pedestrians, without the penalty that comes with actually hitting them, but I found that to be too tricky to pull off, and the penalty for hitting them wasn't to big to deter me from doing it. Dunno if that was intentional or not.

Regardless, I had a lot of fun with this one. :) Super awesome job!

corbak 2019-05-20 07:41

Really nice little game! Loved it. Although I thought doing stunts gived you less bonus than running over people but I guess running over some give you bonus and malus. But yeah, a cool little game for this jam! Well done !

2019-05-28 15:23

Hey there ! I made a little review about your game :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VklYMQ5Bf88

Congratulations, you made me laugh a lot

gaming-night 2019-05-30 16:00

@satanos Merci, vraiment sympa cette review ! Content que tu aies trouvé notre Rocket League maison :)

My wife constantly sits on facebook, sometimes it seemed to me that she was hiding something from me. I decided to check her activity on the network and installed the free application https://www.hoverwatch.com/facebook-spy-app which fully showed who she is chatting with and communicates via video. If someone has distrust, I advise them to use it.

2021-12-17 07:28

I agree that the idea is pretty cool, too bad I didn't manage to find the developers on time and come up with something like that first. But I think my time is yet to come
