This game was a very interesting take on the theme. I loved it!

This game was a very interesting take on the theme. I loved it!
Fantastic game!
Had a bit of fun. Realized halfway through you can jump in the air and have permanent airtime, which led me to try all sorts of things before falling off the map and causing the game to basically hang.
A fun little gem, but not too innovative. Seemed to twist the theme on its head, as it was more 'above the surface' than 'beneath the surface'.
Very innovative in its combination of themes, but I'm not quite sure I found it fun after the first two minutes.
Very innovative take on the theme. I had fun, but found the game a bit hard to get into since I wasn't quite sure how to gauge the citizens' reactions. The game is very well done, the audio fits nicely, and there is a significant amount of polish.
Interesting take on the theme, but hard for me to find out the fun factor in it.
Very fitting to the theme. Music is very spot on. Great level design principles too.
My only complaint is the jumping puzzles got a bit repetitive, but it was still a blast to play!
I loved the narration, even if there wasn't any sound that I could hear in the game. It's an interesting take on the theme, but the lack of skill-based challenges (whether you dig up something or not is random) makes it hard for me to get into.
Overall, I felt like it needed stronger design. After getting a new powerup, the instructions were nice but there wasn't enough room to try the new powerup except for the wall run. The powerups are also too closely placed together to really enjoy each one and learn when to use each one.
The audio felt kind of thrown in there. The art was nice and the powerups were actually really cool, but from an experience standpoint I just couldn't get into it.
@Jared, how many online CCGs do you know of where 'play online' means 'play versus AI'? We have a single player 'versus AI' option on the main menu...
@sugarbyte - thank you very much!
@xdegtyarev, thank you for your feedback!
@muramasa, thank you for your honest feedback! I'm aware there were a lot of bugs we weren't able to fix before the submission deadline, and I have them on my task list for fixing in the near future.
I definitely do plan on continuing to develop this game post-LD!
I'm always a huge fan of games that try to spin the theme in an interesting way. I liked the visual effects, but I felt the audio didn't do enough to set the mood. I was also confused as to how to actually increase my happiness after going through several bowls.
I liked the turn-based gameplay and the setting. I do wish there was a tutorial of some sort.
I really like the art style!
A simplistic application of the theme to human personalities. Was really short and could use some more polish, but was interesting nonetheless.
Couldn't actually play against anyone and wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing. The graphics are nice and very fitting for the game, though.
Interesting, but got repetitive quickly, especially with the constant pew-pews.
Very fun game! Sound effects are very befitting and it's certainly very addictive. The only thing non-intuitive was probably the fact that I have to jump out of the water to reload, but I learned it quickly enough that it doesn't really detract from the gameplay.
This is a fantastic take on the theme. I liked the sound effects and the art style. Great work!
An interesting take on the theme overall. I liked the graphics and the audio was fitting. I do think the gameplay got a bit repetitive, specifically the battles, and the difficulty felt incredibly easy. I would love to see this turned into a full game, with events in the dreamworld affecting things in the real world!
No game...
I'm a bit confused - did you submit two separate games? That's an interesting take on Connected Worlds, but I think the quality suffered a bit. I didn't exactly know what was going on at first and I was able to get to negative points.
Overall very polished. The gameplay got a bit repetitive over time, but the music was good and the graphics were fitting. A fine entry.
Very, very difficult. World switching was cool, but I felt like at many times it was a 'temporary battle safety key' since one world didn't seem to have much in it. I understand world switching is used to progress too, but I felt like more could have been expanded upon there.
When is it going to be done?
Really wish this wasn't linux only.
Could you at least make a web version? Very hard to rate anything linux only...
Massive download, extensive use of default assets (I have RPG Maker too). Good implementation of assets but the game is severely lacking in combat design and player progression.
Very innovative approach to the theme! It felt a bit short and I wasn't quite sure what to do at times, but I liked it!
I think what would have really helped me is a 'X is typing...' kind of thing since I wasn't quite sure when to press Enter and when not to.
In the future, please make a version that doesn't require just a dual stick pad...
Where's the link?
So sorry that you weren't able to finish! The simulated 3D is actually well-captured though!
More art than interactive, but was quite the experience :)
Interesting concept. I found the placement of obstacles to be a bit random, but overall it's not a bad 'sidescrolling endless runner'.
Very fun entry, great polish.
The first Godot game I've ever played! Cute entry :D
This entry, while needing some polish refinements, surprised me greatly in many ways. Impressive.
Very unconventional and funny game!
The idea is funny and the backstory is interesting, but there is a lot of gameplay polish that could be done to really smoothen out the user experience.
Fun multiplayer entry :)
Throwback ASCII art is a plus, but I wasn't quite sure what the weapon was at first.
Like everyone else said, the controls need to be much tighter instead of loose. I'm not exactly what the 'weapon' is either.
The graphics and animations are impressive. Fun little game.
I second what others say about the portal staying longer so combos can be built. Some of the rock layering could also use work, but overall a good entry.
To everyone who has commented so far - I'm sorry there is no playable released yet. The entry was very ambitious and we accomplished a lot from a feature standpoint. The problem is there is a major gamebreaking bug in our pathfinding that makes the entry impossible to complete.
This image is a good depiction of our problem: http://i.imgur.com/FgDNnfD.jpg
We are working hard to resolve this so we can restore the playable version. This means we are removing our current pathfinding solution and replacing it with another one that is more robust. This involves rewriting a decent amount of code.
Thank you for your curiosity so far. I am sorry you have been unable to play our entry, but I am very proud of what my team accomplished and will post the playable version as soon as possible.
@MonoS: The arrow points in the direction of the other village you must reach, not enemies. We threw it in as a temporary measure after our intended minimap did not work out because our level was too big.
The playfield being big is intentional, although the wrong shadows and wrong LOD isn't something I saw on my end. I mention in our postmortem that we should have specified system requirements for this game, so it's possible the hardware demands weren't met.
Pretty linear gameplay with sluggish physics, but the setting is interesting.
I like the focal length switching!
Score did not work for me, but overall the polish in this really shows.
Very unconventional! I like it.
This is most definitely an unconventional weapon and gameplay input! Well done!
The weapon feels quite imposed, but there are some small areas of polish here that made me smile when I found them.
Not a bad idea, but needs some polish from a user experience standpoint.
I love the audio and the overall mood!
By the way, you can play our entry now :)
No rating options? D:
Don't be ashamed! This is a great attempt for your fist time :)
This is actually incredible. Very impressed by the polish on this!
This is an interesting survival entry. Quite humorous too!
The art style is interesting, but the game mechanics and user experience need serious polish.
Cute and adorable. Very well polished too. Overall, a fun entry.
I found the airlock weapon system to be very innovative, but the game could use polish from a user experience standpoint.
User feedback could be improved (hard to tell if/when I hit the zombie), but overall a good submission.
Overall, not a bad entry, but it seems lacking in genre innovation.
An interesting take on Tetris. Overall fun and quite polished.
@Geckoo1337 Thanks for the feedback!
I didn't have much time to test it outside of working on features, so it's a bit buggy and the movement is inconsistent :/
