LD29 — Beneath the Surface

DEA Simulator by Siewart 2014-04-30T22:07:00

This game was a very interesting take on the theme. I loved it!

Digging up Daisy by Cake&Code 2014-04-30T10:58:00

Fantastic game!

Installation ZA-3 by Flai 2014-04-29T01:47:00

Had a bit of fun. Realized halfway through you can jump in the air and have permanent airtime, which led me to try all sorts of things before falling off the map and causing the game to basically hang.

A fun little gem, but not too innovative. Seemed to twist the theme on its head, as it was more 'above the surface' than 'beneath the surface'.

The Diggers Refrain by Verz 2014-04-29T02:32:00

Very innovative in its combination of themes, but I'm not quite sure I found it fun after the first two minutes.

Crustacean Farm by LandoSystems 2014-04-29T02:55:00

Very innovative take on the theme. I had fun, but found the game a bit hard to get into since I wasn't quite sure how to gauge the citizens' reactions. The game is very well done, the audio fits nicely, and there is a significant amount of polish.

Juno's Garden by Dining Philosopher 2014-04-29T03:47:00

Interesting take on the theme, but hard for me to find out the fun factor in it.

Space Driller by Mr. Jif 2014-04-29T02:03:00

Very fitting to the theme. Music is very spot on. Great level design principles too.

My only complaint is the jumping puzzles got a bit repetitive, but it was still a blast to play!

Dark Soils by Grieve 2014-04-29T03:01:00

I loved the narration, even if there wasn't any sound that I could hear in the game. It's an interesting take on the theme, but the lack of skill-based challenges (whether you dig up something or not is random) makes it hard for me to get into.

Rude Bear Revengeance by Alex Rose 2014-04-29T03:14:00

Overall, I felt like it needed stronger design. After getting a new powerup, the instructions were nice but there wasn't enough room to try the new powerup except for the wall run. The powerups are also too closely placed together to really enjoy each one and learn when to use each one.

The audio felt kind of thrown in there. The art was nice and the powerups were actually really cool, but from an experience standpoint I just couldn't get into it.

Zems Online CCG - Beneath the Sea Edition! by Exeneva 2014-04-29T02:47:00

@Jared, how many online CCGs do you know of where 'play online' means 'play versus AI'? We have a single player 'versus AI' option on the main menu...

@sugarbyte - thank you very much!

@xdegtyarev, thank you for your feedback!

Zems Online CCG - Beneath the Sea Edition! by Exeneva 2014-04-29T03:50:00

@muramasa, thank you for your honest feedback! I'm aware there were a lot of bugs we weren't able to fix before the submission deadline, and I have them on my task list for fixing in the near future.

I definitely do plan on continuing to develop this game post-LD!

Souvenirs by BadPaul34 2014-04-29T04:03:00

I'm always a huge fan of games that try to spin the theme in an interesting way. I liked the visual effects, but I felt the audio didn't do enough to set the mood. I was also confused as to how to actually increase my happiness after going through several bowls.

Get Kraken by McFunkypants 2014-04-29T04:08:00

I liked the turn-based gameplay and the setting. I do wish there was a tutorial of some sort.

Deep South Motel by iossif 2014-04-29T04:10:00

I really like the art style!

Beneath the Humans by Frederico Raiss 2014-04-29T04:15:00

A simplistic application of the theme to human personalities. Was really short and could use some more polish, but was interesting nonetheless.

Strata Dig by Jared Sartin 2014-04-29T02:14:00

Couldn't actually play against anyone and wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing. The graphics are nice and very fitting for the game, though.

Be.Ts by Saphyre 2014-04-30T10:18:00

Was pretty fun. Also note that you have it listed as web when it's really a download link, not a playable in web game using the Unity Web Player Plugin.

SkyManta by snickersnacks 2014-04-29T03:18:00

Interesting, but got repetitive quickly, especially with the constant pew-pews.

They Come With Fire by DarkUser 2014-04-29T02:20:00

Very fun game! Sound effects are very befitting and it's certainly very addictive. The only thing non-intuitive was probably the fact that I have to jump out of the water to reload, but I learned it quickly enough that it doesn't really detract from the gameplay.

Billy Bigdigger by 01101101 2014-04-29T06:09:00

This is a fantastic take on the theme. I liked the sound effects and the art style. Great work!

Basement by Halfbus 2014-04-29T03:31:00

This is a near-perfect entry for me. Graphics are great, the audio is fitting, the mood is well-established, and the take on the theme is interesting. Well done! Would look forward to following the progress of this if you keep developing it!

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Hypnagogia by Cake&Code 2014-08-30T22:26:00

An interesting take on the theme overall. I liked the graphics and the audio was fitting. I do think the gameplay got a bit repetitive, specifically the battles, and the difficulty felt incredibly easy. I would love to see this turned into a full game, with events in the dreamworld affecting things in the real world!

Sim Solar System by josefnpat 2014-08-30T08:41:00

No game...

CtrlShift by Jyrkface 2014-08-26T06:48:00

I get this error: MMF Flash Application. Click on the Application to set the focus.

Passion (World of Julio & World of Romett) by eskivor 2014-08-26T06:50:00

I'm a bit confused - did you submit two separate games? That's an interesting take on Connected Worlds, but I think the quality suffered a bit. I didn't exactly know what was going on at first and I was able to get to negative points.

Star Trucker by Dissiden7 2014-08-26T06:57:00

Overall very polished. The gameplay got a bit repetitive over time, but the music was good and the graphics were fitting. A fine entry.

Rift Walker by Skills641 2014-08-26T03:43:00

Very, very difficult. World switching was cool, but I felt like at many times it was a 'temporary battle safety key' since one world didn't seem to have much in it. I understand world switching is used to progress too, but I felt like more could have been expanded upon there.

Jack Round by drcrook1 2014-08-30T00:43:00

When is it going to be done?

Super Mailer by moi93101 2014-08-30T00:44:00

Really wish this wasn't linux only.

A Cat Between Worlds by elcaraescombro 2014-09-01T05:04:00

Could you at least make a web version? Very hard to rate anything linux only...

Ulric's tale by Degondar 2014-09-04T04:23:00

Massive download, extensive use of default assets (I have RPG Maker too). Good implementation of assets but the game is severely lacking in combat design and player progression.

wayward wired worlds by KirbiBear 2014-08-26T03:22:00

Very innovative approach to the theme! It felt a bit short and I wasn't quite sure what to do at times, but I liked it!

wayward wired worlds by KirbiBear 2014-08-26T03:22:00

I think what would have really helped me is a 'X is typing...' kind of thing since I wasn't quite sure when to press Enter and when not to.

Negative Space Invaders by ocarson 2014-08-30T06:33:00

In the future, please make a version that doesn't require just a dual stick pad...

Player Connection by Jorjon 2014-08-30T00:44:00

Where's the link?

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Space Worder by ponk 2015-05-05T07:52:00

So sorry that you weren't able to finish! The simulated 3D is actually well-captured though!

The Death of Mister Johnson by davidbox 2015-05-05T09:53:00

More art than interactive, but was quite the experience :)

Postman Ninja by Nikteddy92 2015-05-05T06:30:00

Interesting concept. I found the placement of obstacles to be a bit random, but overall it's not a bad 'sidescrolling endless runner'.

Tuba Knight by dalbinblue 2015-05-05T08:08:00

Very fun entry, great polish.

Gapurin by Jan Marcano 2015-05-05T08:19:00

The first Godot game I've ever played! Cute entry :D

Untitled by mohammad 2015-05-05T08:20:00

Nothing here :O

Angry Boats by dvdking 2015-05-05T08:23:00

This entry, while needing some polish refinements, surprised me greatly in many ways. Impressive.

Zombie dinner by goerp 2015-05-05T08:32:00

Very unconventional and funny game!

Exion XII by alyphen 2015-05-05T08:38:00

The audio is wonderful. The polish in other areas is lacking, but you mentioned that in the description. Overall an interesting entry.

Opa Bakkebaard by PEBKAC 2015-05-05T09:31:00

The idea is funny and the backstory is interesting, but there is a lot of gameplay polish that could be done to really smoothen out the user experience.

Toasted by JPatrick 2015-05-05T09:38:00

Fun game, although it's very challenging from the get-go and so it's easy to get frustrated early on.

Banana Battle by CryoGenesis 2015-05-05T09:42:00

Fun multiplayer entry :)

Caves of Undalek by iamwhosiam 2015-05-05T09:44:00

Throwback ASCII art is a plus, but I wasn't quite sure what the weapon was at first.

Goodie Bag by lbrande 2015-05-05T09:49:00

Like everyone else said, the controls need to be much tighter instead of loose. I'm not exactly what the 'weapon' is either.

Carroty Wars by lurils 2015-05-05T10:36:00

The graphics and animations are impressive. Fun little game.

Portal Miner by TimBeaudet 2015-05-05T06:54:00

I second what others say about the portal staying longer so combos can be built. Some of the rock layering could also use work, but overall a good entry.

Weathermage by Exeneva 2015-04-28T08:36:00

To everyone who has commented so far - I'm sorry there is no playable released yet. The entry was very ambitious and we accomplished a lot from a feature standpoint. The problem is there is a major gamebreaking bug in our pathfinding that makes the entry impossible to complete.

This image is a good depiction of our problem: http://i.imgur.com/FgDNnfD.jpg

We are working hard to resolve this so we can restore the playable version. This means we are removing our current pathfinding solution and replacing it with another one that is more robust. This involves rewriting a decent amount of code.

Thank you for your curiosity so far. I am sorry you have been unable to play our entry, but I am very proud of what my team accomplished and will post the playable version as soon as possible.

Weathermage by Exeneva 2015-05-09T02:37:00

@MonoS: The arrow points in the direction of the other village you must reach, not enemies. We threw it in as a temporary measure after our intended minimap did not work out because our level was too big.

The playfield being big is intentional, although the wrong shadows and wrong LOD isn't something I saw on my end. I mention in our postmortem that we should have specified system requirements for this game, so it's possible the hardware demands weren't met.

I just wanna go to work! by Xatulu 2015-05-05T07:09:00

Pretty linear gameplay with sluggish physics, but the setting is interesting.

Specter Snap by Snicklodocus 2015-05-05T06:57:00

I like the focal length switching!

Score did not work for me, but overall the polish in this really shows.

New Grafflebog Colony by monika 2015-05-05T07:11:00

Very unconventional! I like it.

Hug Arena by Benjamin 2015-05-05T06:27:00

Overall, a wonderful entry. The hug mechanic is interesting, although it took me a few tries to really understand what was going on.

By the way, you can play Weathermage now :)

WHISTLE COMMAND by thristhart 2015-05-05T07:01:00

This is most definitely an unconventional weapon and gameplay input! Well done!

Freddy's Challange by Shimone 2015-05-05T08:14:00

The weapon feels quite imposed, but there are some small areas of polish here that made me smile when I found them.

Death by Chocolate - Unconventional Cure by waveformmodulations 2015-05-05T07:12:00

Not a bad idea, but needs some polish from a user experience standpoint.

Remote Control by Geckoo1337 2015-05-05T06:23:00

I love the audio and the overall mood!

By the way, you can play our entry now :)

Blockman & Tuna by ninjascript 2015-05-06T23:45:00

No rating options? D:
Don't be ashamed! This is a great attempt for your fist time :)

Armament Proving Grounds by quadtree 2015-05-05T06:53:00

This is actually incredible. Very impressed by the polish on this!

Bears in the Dark by Ivan Volkov 2015-05-05T07:15:00

This is an interesting survival entry. Quite humorous too!

Mutated Software and Company by mutatedsoftware 2015-05-05T07:18:00

The art style is interesting, but the game mechanics and user experience need serious polish.

FINAL BREAKFAST: Your World is Toast by GhostBomb 2015-05-05T07:30:00

Cute and adorable. Very well polished too. Overall, a fun entry.

Airlock by CreamyBacon1 2015-05-05T07:39:00

I found the airlock weapon system to be very innovative, but the game could use polish from a user experience standpoint.

Zombie Broom by alex31016 2015-05-05T07:34:00

User feedback could be improved (hard to tell if/when I hit the zombie), but overall a good submission.

AllergicRun by filipe.silva 2015-05-05T06:49:00

Overall, not a bad entry, but it seems lacking in genre innovation.

Tetrominions by blubberquark 2015-05-05T08:17:00

An interesting take on Tetris. Overall fun and quite polished.

LD35 — Shapeshift

Mouse Goes Meow by Exeneva 2016-04-19T05:40:00

@Geckoo1337 Thanks for the feedback!

I didn't have much time to test it outside of working on features, so it's a bit buggy and the movement is inconsistent :/
