Well done! I really like the art style and the music. The game runs very well, so go TurtleBrains!

I really liked your entry man, Would have been nice if the portal stayed open a while longer to get some of those impossible chains.

I really enjoy these types of games, would be awesome on mobile, and my missus would play it too :D haha

Awesome job *thumbs up*

I like it. One thing I'd suggest is working out the mechanics so when moving your portal gets placed on whatever row you are closest to. I found I would switch rows and then right before I finished switching I'd fail to place a portal in the right spot. Also seemed like row switching could happen faster.
It seems like the map wasn't fully proc-genned or something? Was getting the feeling like everytime I restart I went through the same things.
Music was good, liked the portal sound as well.

Thanks for the feedback, we appreciated it!

The map isn't procedural at all, it started out that way but then I opted for "designed patterns" so that it would always remain playable. The scroll speed does get faster and faster, although probably does so too slow. The first pattern is _always_ the same as a tutorial-ish level. And then it randomizes between the other pattens we got to make. Admittedly we meant to have more patterns, and have them designed better, but we didn't get that far.

Great concept, it'd be cool if the portal stayed open longer so you could build combos. There were a few instances when a gold and a normal rock were on top of each-other and I didn't get the gold because the rock was slightly ahead. Perhaps a secondary goal would be interesting like collecting certain types of materials to craft additions to your ship. Overall, good job.

love the music and i like the concept of the portal placement, i wonder where all those asteriods end up ?!

This game was horrible. Apparently the portal was not even a donut. I really would suggest thinking about your game concept before making the game.

Alright in all honesty I thought the game was awesome. Very interesting idea, especially with all those other rocket & asteroid games. I was surprised to find such a high innovation. Music felt very calming and fit with the game well. Fun to play. Good job! :D

The portal mechanic is pretty cool - I was worried it would be a Portal ripoff heh. The patterns of asteroids were nicely put together too and really fit well with it.

pretty cool!

Hey, great game! I ran into a few errors, though. Couldn't reproduce them, so it may just be my machine. Links to screenshots of errors:

Only the 3rd error actually crashed the game, I was able to continue play through the first two.

I still wonder if I could reach 10,000 points, but I settled for stopping at 7600+. :D

I missed being able to move around the screen, but had fun mining in the space using my portal generator ship :).

Marcus, it appears you need to reinstall OpenAL, a link to the redistributable is found in the readme and in the description above. Thanks everyone for leaving the feedback!

marcus316 2015-04-24 02:18

I actually installed OpenAL specifically for this game. I wonder what went wrong ...

timbeaudet 2015-04-25 18:47

Maybe there is another issue with TurtleBrains? I did have a crash during development, but reinstalling OpenAL is what fixed it, so I had figured that was vastly outdated or something, it had been a long time since I had updated.

Cool concept man, it's like a defensive SCHMUP. Good work.

If you kept working on it, it would be cool if there were different types of enemies and maybe different kinds of portals to use.

vegard1992 2015-04-30 15:40

I liked this :)

exeneva 2015-05-05 06:54

I second what others say about the portal staying longer so combos can be built. Some of the rock layering could also use work, but overall a good entry.

Pretty good game. Felt like I was mostly dodging. I'm wondering if it's possible to take this game concept further. I admit that for me, the current implementation is a bit too simple.

Control-wase, it would have been nice if I tap up, then space very quickly, it would place the portal at the lane I would end up on, rather than the lane I'm currently in.
