@Dallonf, i have included both an installer, and a packed zip file which doesn't require install. (insure if it works mind, but its there)
To answer your question:
A closed ship doesn't negate all damage, only damage through head on collision and only if the player isn't turning whilst "closed". You still have to move out the way of bullets. (but yeah this was supposed to be limited), Mainly i left it how it was because of time restrictions, if i had the time to remove it from the game (beyond simply variable blocking it) id have had time to place the function in completely. Besides, i liked them.
I am planning on releasing all of the features fully implemented once ludumdare31 is over ^^. There was quite a lot i wanted to include but couldn't, and maybe some additions seem overpowered with out being fully implemented, but i say to those who think so... whats your highest score? :P (mines 37 btw)
Thank you for trying it out :D and giving feedback, although i disagree that i should have left them out, i find them fun to play around with and the concept for STS was to create a game that was easy to just jump into , Autofire was kept in for this very reason. (also with the fact enemy bullets can destroy player builts with no self effect) :D
@Mathias234, it can be quite hard, the paths the enemy choose is set randomly each spawn, there are 10 to pick from, some of them are what i like to call "BASTARD" paths. Mainly one where they spiral round from the outside into the center, if you are unlucky enough to have 3 ships spawn doing this ... lets just say i died a fair few times myself.
