LD28 — You Only Get One

Lost Gems by d__adee 2013-12-16T02:50:00

Love it. Similar to Link and Binding of Isaac. This game gives you random generated levels every time you start a new game. This game has really great potential. Superb graphics and the animation is very solid. But the enemies are too fast but this gives a good challenge to the player.

Lost Gems by d__adee 2013-12-16T03:22:00

Voted!

YOGOB (You only got one Button) by nyrrrr 2013-12-16T10:58:00

I had fun it's fast, simple and he jumps really high. The soundtrack is well made.

It takes a while to get comfortable with the jumping but I think the game needs more art or more mechanics as it get's quite repetitive after a few tires.

Overall great job with your first gamejam.

YOGO Mom! by Coblynau 2013-12-16T10:49:00

Well done considering you're ill plus this is your fist game jam

About the game. First, I love the message of the game. the game play is fun and with a sense of humor. I like that you chose the #nokill sidequest because the kids would love playing this. Animation and the consistency of the pixel art is well done.

You only get one job and you hate it. by bradp 2013-12-17T00:01:00

Totally love the unique gameplay! I wish there was a reward mechanic. For example, At the end of the day, I can play video games or meet friends :)

Only one light by Snuti 2013-12-21T00:47:00

I really enjoyed the visuals and the sounds. These are probably the most neglected aspects of a game in gamejams but you guys gave the attention it needed and executed it well. The first level could be easier though as it's difficult to jump to the fourth matchstick. But anyway I hope you guys keep the fire burning :)

OneThrust by Graham Weldon 2013-12-15T13:24:00

I like this game. It's like Kerbal space but more relaxing kind. You get only one thrust means careful planning and fun at the same time. I wish I get rewards for getting further and further as I play.

One Arrow, One Kill by Jed T. 2013-12-15T13:07:00

Wow, thank you! It's my first game, will try to improve when I get the chance :)

One Arrow, One Kill by Jed T. 2013-12-16T22:32:00

Hehehe, I forgot to put a winning condition at the end. The darkness is actually a blank area. But I'm glad you played it until there. Thanks for playing :)

Christmas Cookie Craze by UndergroundPixel 2013-12-21T03:51:00

I like this game. Really, it's a fun game! It's a casual feel good mood where you chase elves and you get to upgrade santa as you collect cookies. One of the most polished game in this Ludum dare. Controls feels great, art is beautiful the music and the sounds are perfect. Good job!

ENDLESS NIGHT by dsoft20 2013-12-21T03:25:00

The controls are very solid and the pixel artwork is beautiful. Even it's pixelated I can feel that I am floating in space. The title page is stunning as it has a 3d pixelated spaceship model which you wish you want to play with. I just wish it wasn't too hard. I wish the sonar would ping back a circle so I can easily determine the location of the crewmembers or parts. Overall a wonderful game made in less than 72 hours.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Schist by ix 2014-04-28T10:41:00

At the beginning it was confusing to me, I didn't know that I should pull an invisible slingshot. But once I figured it out it's really fun. The angry bird mechanic is really a masterpiece.

Refuge by MunkeeBacon 2014-05-01T22:56:00

I couldn't run it on my toaster :\ (Vista 32-bit)

The Mine by Almost 2014-05-01T00:24:00

Well done and what an amazing feat you have accomplished in just 48 hours! the Pathfinding is fantastic and It also evades bombs :)

PORTHOLE by Ragzouken 2014-05-01T23:12:00

Very brave of you guys on risking on making an entirely new experience for the players. I'm guessing you thought of the art first then gameplay would follow. Maybe you can add a hook to fetch something important? But I admire you guys for the innovation you put onto your game! :)

Eiradirian Wormfare by blay09 2014-05-01T10:06:00

Love it! the intro got me pumped up! Audio and the story are well made. NPC's are really funny! However, the controls could get a little more tweaking as it's too fast for me. It made me a bit nauseous when I tried playing konrad and I was trying to back up. He is like bouncing off the walls. I wish there were more killing rather than jumping. (metal-slug-like?) Just my 2 cents. But overall it's a great game. Good job! :)

Read Between the Tropes by Crowbeak 2014-05-01T13:21:00

Love the story! this game made be reminisce playing MUDs way back. I shouldn't have listened to my commander :( Fantastic job!

Cordyceps by VanMerwan 2014-05-02T08:02:00

I love the unique and original gameplay!

Kalahari Babysitter by TijmenTio 2014-04-30T10:33:00

I managed to finish the game with 1 sister remaining The game is really good! controls are simple yet fun to play the graphics are fantastic. I most especially love the feedback when the score goes to the bottom left. And when you go back and dive to the tunnels dirt particles go splashy. Wonderful game sir.

I Remember Alice by Linus Lindberg 2014-05-01T23:30:00

I like how a simple game can be so moving. Made me think about my life myself.

Here's the interesting part, what I saw is me eating, working and sleeping over and over. And yet I daydreamed in-game! I mean I dreamed of long walks by the river, long walks in the rain.

I hope it would rainy season soon so I can just take a walk :)

Battle Through Hell! by shatley123 2014-05-02T04:16:00

Nice little shooter! these are rare in LD :) I wish I can change the sensitivity of the mouse. and it would be nice to have a visual feedback when I hit a zombie.

MOOD by d__adee 2014-04-28T10:25:00

I agree with Pent, it's too hard. But I like the fresh concept though. Maybe it's just me, but I like playing games on the desktop because of the high framerate. So I wish you have provided desktop builds.

The abyss within by UnixXNova 2014-04-30T10:14:00

Controls are a but clunky, for example when I jump longer the entire screen shake. Music is very nice though. Good job!

Beneath The Sea I Find by Fülo 2014-04-28T11:10:00

A good solid game. Love the particles! I just wish the gameplay isn't that simple and it gets boring after a few seconds. Maybe add a some sort of a explosion that will destroy the spikes? Or maybe that won't really fit to the current of mood. But maybe add anything that the player can do besides up,down, left and right would do.

Small sacrifice by Kragnir 2014-05-01T13:35:00

Love the story, bullet hell gameplay is always fun! controls are a bit too fast though and I wish my bullets have father range

Ben Eath: The Surf Ace by Afal 2014-04-28T08:49:00

Game has really good comedy :) I was stuck after getting tanned though and I don't know where to get a surfboard. My only suggestion is to have a skip dialog option so I won't have to read the text over and over when figuring out if the npc has new options available. But overall, it's a fantastic little gem :)

the vole beneath by mcapraro 2014-05-02T07:08:00

Absolutely love it. Animation is slick. Physics is amazing, I love your theme rendition! Only complaint I have is that the game is too short and too easy. But good job overall!

Beneath the surface by sorikaStudio 2014-04-30T10:46:00

I can't lose :(

I also tried to ram the ship to the giant worm but I just went behind it. But the music is good though.

Dirt Rush by Kar 2014-04-28T13:43:00

Played it until the end! I found the hermit hut that showed me the orb. Awesome game :)

Gravedigger 20XX by muramasa 2014-05-01T00:33:00

Amazing just amazing how you were able to pull this game off in just 48 hours. Controls are just slippery and I kept falling when I wanted to jump to a ledge. The polish is really fantastic I haven't saw any bugs. Now I feel bad about myself :(

pixel bat attack by enderosc 2014-05-02T06:58:00

I won, I killed the bats! woohoo! Victory!!!

Protect Underneath by Bnjguy 2014-05-01T00:02:00

a true classic platformer. I tried to finish the game but I cant seem to get past the spiders. Controls and physics are solid. Keep it up!

One Cold Night by hyouko 2014-05-02T03:36:00

Graphics is outstanding with the snow particles and the cute sprites. Audio is also well executed as I can hear the wind gushing into the air. Controls are very slick. However the game mechanics could improve as running around and finding buried things could get very repetitive after a while. May removing the things that were dug out? and putting a things to find counter at the top? But overall, great job!

Lavarena by CrackedP0t 2014-05-01T00:53:00

I love the upgrade mechanic but the game has no in-game instructions so was confused at first. I didn't know on what to dig or what to do. Game is too hard! Good job :)

Beneath My Skin by Jely L. 2014-04-30T11:49:00

Did you know that my very first game made was a console black jack game similar to this one. I think I was 16 back them but yours has awesome music :) and did you know my name is Jed also? so I kinda freaked out when the in-game text mentioned my name! I read README Good job! :)

Crayon Miners by Charimation 2014-05-01T00:42:00

Love the cute graphics and even though the mechanic is simple it's surprisingly fun. If you decide to put more polish I suggest putting player lives so once because it's too difficult for me currently.

Beneath The Clouds by Skipi 2014-05-01T00:05:00

Can't start the game (MSVCR110.dll missing)

Esc by Crumpet 2014-04-28T11:00:00

I love it. It's a beautiful game with a deep story.

So, I was wondering how was the theme put into besides the cave. Then I realized that it's the husband and wife relationship? am I right?

Deeper by shasharala 2014-05-01T00:17:00

So excited to get this done :) Let us know when you get to finish it. Nice try!

A Miner Catastrophe by Mincemeat 2014-05-01T12:33:00

Love the destructible environment! Story is good :) I just wish the controls are more responsive also there is a bug when I try to jump the height sometimes is too high and sometimes it's too low and I get trapped.

Moby-riDickulous by Crooksister 2014-04-30T10:03:00

I had fun playing the sound effects and music are really good. However I got dizzy with the screen shake :(

Boku no Tentacle by Zed 2014-05-01T13:10:00

This is amazing! I love atmosphere and the audio. the controls and the movement is smooth. It feels weird playing it though, the music tells me I should be relaxing but I'm under stress most of the time which is good! The game needs smaller levels (my 2 cents) Keep it up!

Warpigs by sorceress 2014-04-30T11:22:00

Very impressive feat! you're probably the most productive dev in ludum dare you've made so many assets and mechanics in 48hrs

Beneath The Surface (tm) by Jed T. 2014-04-28T08:58:00

thanks, I didn't really plan initially with this type of mood I guess I just couldn't find a lighter goal.

ix, As for the gameplay, you're right and there is lot's of of room for improvement. But I was really disappointed to myself with the the pace of development.

For example, I was not able to hit some of the milestones early and that caused some of the other elements to be abandoned. One mechanic that was abandoned were sharks.

Beneath The Surface (tm) by Jed T. 2014-05-20T08:00:00

Thank you @Rock48! unfortunately I can't edit the page anymore. But I appreciate your help :)

The Crusade! by jamesy012 2014-04-30T11:37:00

I like the strategy mechanic of it. But it's all based on random I think. Then I got defeated by an army wall :(

Drill18: The Mars Project by quill18 2014-04-28T14:02:00

What an incredible game made in 48 hrs! There is a major bug though where I can just click the drill downwards as long as I like.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The Paper Dance by TravisChen 2014-12-08T11:39:00

Best beautiful looking LD game I've ever played. I don't know if I could consider it a game though because there is no clear goal at hand? or am I missing something.

For the Homeland! by Verz 2014-12-11T10:53:00

Superb music and graphics, well done! I like the unique concept of being a dictator simulator and being able to convict murderers. I love how you guys put the effort on the tiny little details like soldiers exercising and prisoners working in the background. The game has a bit of a learning curve as the clickable elements are not that obvious. Maybe add a tutorial level before the game starts.

ENTER IMAGE by tsjost 2014-12-08T10:56:00

I enjoyed dodging the enemy helicopters while they are in full speed and then crashing the walls after. The physics feels like I'm in outerspace. I had fun tough, maybe putting less acceleration to the controls.

Shinobi Showdown by CustomPhase 2014-12-08T11:31:00

I love the concept, the artwork is great and appealing. the music and sound is pleasant. but the core game it's It's to hard to master with a mouse. the AI is frustratingly too good. maybe putting a practice dummy at the first fight?

Tesseract by Fede3751 2014-12-08T12:02:00

I love the cute graphics. It took me a while to figure out that I can hook on walls. But I'm not sure where the theme actually fits in?

Gratification Crisis by zorfmorf 2014-12-12T06:29:00

Work is good for you 10/10

Triage by Me4502 2014-12-12T06:17:00

I had fun, confused because there were no in-game help but the gameplay is really fun. First few tries my patients were dying like flies. until I found out that I can drag the doctors into the rooms then my patients recovered rapidly. Good concept! Curing the sick is one great core mechanic. Just ask Peter Molyneux ;)

Maze Escape by Gins 2014-12-08T04:01:00

I had a great fun playing this. I think it's a very clever use of the theme where the game slowly transform into a one gigantic maze in one screen. I love how the exploration side of it where you discover new rooms as you progress. Only downside maybe is that wall jumping is too hard.

Das Tank Game by RaycoSantana 2014-12-08T10:34:00

This reminded me of that little tank game: battle city. nintendo? in the 80s? oh well i'm old.

Maybe if you tried to make it playable with a wasd and mouse it would be much fun for me. And maybe try the orthogonal view just like the orientation battle city had.

But I had fun nonetheless :)

Ocean Crossing by andysolace 2014-12-08T11:45:00

After a few tries. I managed to reach the right side. this depends on luck in order to win.

Tight Angle by lase 2014-12-12T05:26:00

Neat little game, simple but fun, I love how the enemies swarm to the player and how you try your best to hit the fire keys. Maybe you could try to make it funny for example, instead the enemies trying to kill you they try to take your ice cream or something :)

Streaming simulator by glaze_96 2014-12-08T04:36:00

Fun yet sad game.. fun part is when you try to manage earning money but at the same time you want to stay alive.

Sad in a way that I know for certain there are people in this world that lives like this.

You can play around with the mechanics some more for example you could order online and buy a new gaming pc and buy new games that way your streaming income would go up. your depression could go down in a short time too.

I wish I could have many mechanics to play with rather than just juggling between the three objects

Defender by MatejaS 2014-12-11T10:38:00

I love the cute pixel graphics and the defense gameplay mechanics. The artwork is consistent (except for the grass) I wish you had time for sound and music so I would be immersed with your game longer. I got bored quickly though after 3-4 tries because it got repetitive. Good luck and keep on shipping games!

STS (Simple TopDown Shooter) by TheScragglyMan 2014-12-11T12:00:00

I'm impressed with the polish. art is wonderful. I love the concept of the second ghost ship where you could teleport. But other than that it got repetitive after 10 minutes you could add more ships and juice it some more.

Popcorn Please! by TangentSpaceGames 2014-12-12T05:15:00

I love playing these simulation games. I remember playing a cinema tycoon type similar tho this when I was little.

So, you had a good concept and it was well executed. I like the pixel graphics and the AI is great. I found a bug where they can buy pop corn even though they already seen the movie. I guess they're just hungry. I guess you could polish it some more with purchases like movie seats, soda, 3D glasses. But overall, good job!
