LD30 — Connected Worlds

Quest of Untitled by firstbass 2014-08-26T01:59:00

My biggest problem with it isn't really the movement speed, it's a bit inconvenient to be sure, but my biggest issue is the two interaction buttons. X to start a conversation, but F to end it. Is there a particular reason for this function?

Game of Endings by Kain.Oborin 2014-08-26T04:11:00

Ah yes. My apologies I've fixed it now. (So it's under the right catagory)

Game of Endings by Kain.Oborin 2014-08-26T04:24:00

I did notice that in the last minute. I didn't really have much time to proof read unfortunately. I saw some of them, but some of them I just didn't have time to fix. And I thought it was VERY strange how big the file was compared to the length of the actual game. So you have my sympathies. I apologize for that.

Game of Endings by Kain.Oborin 2014-08-26T04:34:00

I understand completely where you are coming from, I didn't mean that as a "rate me for the best case scenario", I meant that simply as a, simply take into consideration that this is far from the completed product. And I do agree with what you've said the spelling and grammar is pretty abhorrent. I have a bad habit of just typing things out, and watching for the red line. So I apologize for that. Also, the reason why the events repeat themselves, is because there was initially supposed to be 4 routes for this submission (the actual game would have had more). The first two routes would have been separate. Go to the Faculty or look around. And the endings of these choices would have led to different results in the next set of paths. But due to the time constraint, I only really managed to finish one, so it turned into a poor loop.

Game of Endings by Kain.Oborin 2014-08-29T06:12:00

I'm terribly sorry... yeah the program I used only works for windows...

Game of Endings by Kain.Oborin 2014-08-31T22:45:00

I actually had a limited plan for the 8 hours I could work on the game... To get a certain number of endings that would give the player a taste of what the game was like. However, even with that, I found myself severely lacking in time as the last hour rolled by. So I ended up just posting what I had, even though it wasn't much. I was kind of disappointed with the result. However, now that I know what to expect. I can book more time next time.

cross World by gnuwind 2014-08-26T03:54:00

XD this strikes me as a kind of rage game. I got a decent way in. But then it started bugging out. Like I'd block the Blue, but it woudl keep pushing me.

Star Smuggler by Chris_E 2014-08-26T04:05:00

It seems to be lacking in an over all objective. I like the way its built but the lack of music and atmosphere make it a bit bland.

I really liked your take on the theme, the level design later on may need a little bit of improvement, but the movement/ character control, the concept that the camera is not locked to the player but the player is locked to the camera is actually a really nice touch. I may not have beaten the game this time around, but I definitely plan to tackle it again in the future.
Thanks for the great game, and I hope to see more of your work.

Snowman Slide by Zanzlanz 2014-12-16T09:38:00

I'm not big on the Christmas themed games but I actually enjoyed this one a bit, the puzzle factor got me thinking, while it didn't appear to be terribly difficult from what I played, it was a nice change from the kind of games I usually play. Thank you for the experience.

REPROPULSOR by blackcode 2014-12-20T02:44:00

I really like this kind of game. It's a bit slidey for me. But if I really sat down and played it I'm sure I could get into the proper stance. I hope to see you make a longer post compo version of this.

TV World by Levi D. Smith 2014-12-21T05:07:00

I really loved this game, but it was for a reason I can't really place. Despite the fact that it's easy (which I can't stand in games), I really enjoyed it. Thank you for the experience.

Fibonacci Grid by Andrew Adams 2014-12-20T03:17:00

I love games like this that make you think. I really hope to see a post compo version of this. Thank you for letting me play.

Missing Picture by ToadieTechnika 2014-12-20T02:35:00

I'm not really a fan of games like these. I'm not going to lie. I probably would have been a bigger fan if the instructions were less contradictory. It says "Be patient" and all that, but instead of the counter restarting you have to start over. I understand being rhythmic and having to click at the end of each cycle, but don't say "Be patient if you can't" And then start them over (although that is a different kind of patience). I will say it was a very nice looking game, and the sounds were great. I may not play your post compo version (if you make one) but I hope to see you make more games.

Bullet Hell by dkkarate 2014-12-20T01:55:00

It was a fun to game to play. I did enjoy it while I could play it. However, once I got passed the second wave it stopped allowing me to shoot. Now that could be just the result of my track pad. But none the less the game was fun to play.

Escape the darkness - by dearenot by dearenot 2014-12-09T07:17:00

It was an interesting concept. It took me a second to realize exactly what I was doing. I'd definitely play a more horror game based on this concept. Keep up the good work.

Punk Enforcer by fireAndCoffee 2014-12-09T07:49:00

I was a bit confused at first, but once the game got started, it became clear what you had to do. GJ. I enjoyed it quite a bit!

0000 : Press Z by alvarop 2014-12-09T07:24:00

I love this style of game, I miss these kind of platformers. I hope to see more of your work in the future!

Reindeers On Strike by toinfiniityandbeyond 2014-12-20T02:22:00

Despite hearing that you are making a post compo version, I'm going to judge you for the current version here that you have. This is a good game that has a lot of potential, and honestly, I'm not a big fan of Christmas. However, I did enjoy playing this game while I could. The biggest problems I encountered are as you know the mouse controls, the fact that you have to click on santa everytime you want to shoot is a bit of pain considering how often you have to move around. The music and the graphics were really well designed for the short span of time you had to work on this. Good work and I can't wait to see the post compo version.

The Second Thought or Please, Don't Touch Anything by Four Quarters 2014-12-20T21:39:00

I really enjoyed this game. It's actually perfectly suited to the games I love to play. I would like to point out a possible bug, and that's during the "Wait a minute" ending, the game freezes "stops" but won't let you reset. You have to exit out.
I really hope to see more of your work in the future! 5/5 all around from me.

Slope Challenge³ by Interface 2014-12-09T06:35:00

I actually really enjoyed this game. I think the soundtrack fit and though it took me a second to figure it out, it was smooth sailing from there on.

The Warehouse by dallonf 2014-12-20T03:00:00

This game has potential, however it seemed to random and the spawn points of the Ninja's mixed with your own starting point made the levels a little to hard for my liking. If you released a full post compo version I would most likely give it a try though.

Whole Life On One Screen by Demy 2014-12-09T07:58:00

I am not going to lie... I absolutely love this game. I don't know why. I don't what is causing me to love it so much... but I do. The style, the art, the substance, the balance. I love it. Thank you very much for making this game!

Cam16 by GhostBomb 2014-12-16T10:38:00

As much as I enjoyed playing this game, the controls and the lack of audio did take away from the experience. I don't usually play computer games, but from the ones I have to this one, the controls threw me off constantly. However that could just be me. All in all, as I said I did really enjoy this game. I hope you make a post compo version. I'd like to see it.

Sweet Dreams Bear by EvanEGibbs 2014-12-20T09:24:00

This was a really fun game for me to play cause it brought me out of my usual genre while still somehow retaining elements of most of the games I enjoyed. Keep up the great work! I hope to see more of what you do.

I'm sorry it took me so long to play this game. It was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely love games like this one!
