Holy shit, I can't believe this actually works :D

The gameplay is a bit repetitive and the graphics aren't that great, but who cares? I AM CONTROLLING A GAME BY WHISTLING! Hahaha, very well done!

gaeel 2015-04-20 11:56

I'M HYPERVENTILATING! AAAAARGH!
Your game should come with a warning!

This is a really nice idea, and very well executed. The game itself leaves a lot to be desired, the visuals and actual gameplay are functional at best, but it feels great when you hit that flow and you can accurately predict which note you need to hit and pull it off!

I had a lot of fun playing this, I wasn't expecting it and now I'm feeling light headed because of the hyperventilating ;)

It works reasonably well and fits the theme.
The whistling can get a bit annoying. I wish it was possible to adjust one's position while the attack is charging. A little more variety would have been nice. All in all: Well done.

Haha, great game! I almost die playing it, very hard to aim but lot of fun! Good job nice idea.

rogberth 2015-04-21 09:35

I really have a bad mic, but this idea is brilliant! good job

Super neat game! Great concept! well done. I included it in part 3 of my Ludum Dare 32 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/Q8RvVjW24Io

hambone88 2015-04-23 00:01

WOW! This has to be the most innovative game I have seen! So neat!

rzfmzn 2015-04-24 12:16

AHAHAHAHAHAHH it made an awkward situation since I was playing this at my work hahahahah great idea :)

phi 2015-04-24 12:32

This game makes me look and sound like a complete idiot. Thanks for that.

But seriously, this works surprisingly well. Especially the rapid fire mode feels very well controllable, the other mode is kind of weird sometimes. It's a genius concept, and you can easily expand on it, so go ahead and do that while I'm here whistling these targets to death.

PS: I got a highscore of only 5 missed target using my sopranino recorder! :D

rudra 2015-04-24 16:48

Woah ! That's a great concept ! Highly innovative ! Awesome work, congrats !!

gatinmnsok 2015-04-25 09:34

Genius concept, catching my breath now.
Maybe it would be cool if the targets were aligned such that you are whistling a song. Or maybe they already are but I'm just a terrible whistler :D

colt-zero 2015-04-25 17:58

Hey there. Perhaps it's just me being biased as someone who is a pretty good whistler, but I quite enjoyed playing this game.

The gameplay its self felt pretty good but it was still fairly lacking.

I'd say one rather disappointing thing about the game play is that your notes don't really have durability. What I mean by that is that you don't get much pay off for whistling longer notes. It's nice that your longer notes cover a larger area, but I think it would of been much better that the longer notes also could stand to hit more enemies. It was kind of disappointing that my longer notes would still only result in like one hit and instantly disappear.

In short, I feel that the note length should of effected it's durability allowing you to pierce through multiple enemies.

If that would of made the game to easy, then I'd say the remedy to that would probably be to increase the rate at which the enemies spawned or maybe increased their speed by a bit.

And in terms of the enemies themselves, I'd say that you could of improved them simply by adding more variance to their health and sizes. Like having a large (and thus easier to hit) boss, but with a lot of health.

But I can also understand that you were building this in a time limit, and likely didn't have the time for all of that.

colt-zero 2015-04-25 18:03

Ah... And it's not really important but I feel like mentioning it. I got a high score of about 6 missed targets with my whistling. I bet I could do better if I try again when I'm not tired (I don't think I slept all that well last night or something as I've been feeling quite drowsy)

Brilliant concept! I got a 10 as my best before the endless mode. The graphics could be improved but I don't care. Even though I'm an awful whistler I had a lot of fun!

exeneva 2015-05-05 07:01

This is most definitely an unconventional weapon and gameplay input! Well done!

nihilaleph 2015-05-06 02:15

Wow, that was great! Awesome concept! I thought I would command ships by whistling, I guess that would be another cool idea. I can't whistle though but I did manage to play humming xp.

kirbytails7 2015-05-06 06:45

Heh, neat. I can't whistle, so I sang at it. Good name, too.

freeholdgames 2015-05-10 03:41

You're the best!

mysterymeat 2015-05-10 15:35

Wow! Just wow! Prior to passing out due to lack of oxygen I played one of the most ugly, and innovative games I have ever played. It is amazing what you were able to accomplish and I hope more developers utilize it in the future. Great job!

cyand1317 2015-05-11 14:03

OMG This is absolutely one of the most innovative games I've ever seen this time! I'll certainly come back and play again when I feel bored ;)

sekaru 2015-05-11 14:03

This is superb! Definitely one of the most innovative games I've seen on here in a while.

foolmoron 2015-05-12 03:05

Oh my god this is such a great idea. I literally could not get past the rapid fire because I started laughing too much. I've never seen a mechanic convey laughter that well before.
