Hey! Saw your post before. Like you said, it feels solid, but the game itself feels incomplete. The sprites are good, but i think the black hole is a little dissonant, I mean, everything is very pixelated but the black hole isn't. I think it lost a bit of consistency.
But still, good job! I think your idea was really creative!
Wasn't sure what I was supposed to be doing, was there anything besides killing enemies? A timer for a highscore section would have improved on that. Also, I didn't hear any audio though you've asked for it to be rated.
Good entry though, liked the concept.
I think it's a good idea, but i guess you had no enough time to achieve it.
NB:
Your icon "vulgaris.exe" doesn't work (it contains a wrong path) so i have to launch "LD32"
(Sorry for my bad english, i'm French)

At first I got the following error-message (on starting) vulgaris.exe:
"
[Window Title]
D:\Users\RBu\Desktop\csfml-graphics-2\Resources\LD32.exe
[Content]
D:\Users\RBu\Desktop\csfml-graphics-2\Resources\LD32.exe
The specified path does not exist.
Check the path, and then try again.
[OK]
"
But, like a previous comment also states, 'LD32.exe' within the Resources folder /does/ work.

The engine need some better collision detection [some entities got stuck into the terrain].
The game need a lot more polishing and some better goal to achieve.
The use of black hole [physics and mass aside] are an interesting weapon.

The game doesn't seem to run
Like someone said, I was missing a goal. If score is the goal, that's ok too. Some more variety would be nice.

The game idea is nice! The player starting place was not good - too often fell down on the left and had to restart...
Sound would have been great and some goal for the game.
But I think you could pretty fast fix those minor issues and make a fun game out of it - well done!

Nice idea, with black holes. It would be nice to feel that the're really black holes and that they affect gravity around them, or something.
You should mark it better, that 15 is maxiumum capacity of balck holes and that it blocks destroying of terrain, as for a while I thought I broke something. It might be nice to show player info about this limitation.
When the highest score is the only goal it would be nice to see what my score was before restarting the level. I feel there's something missing to make this game more fun.
And as others said, there are some collision problems sometimes. And you might also look at enemies' spawning, as I'vee seen some stucked in the ground.

I really liked the black holes mechanic because it felt like the most dangerous things were not the enemies, but your own attacks! Really liked that concept.

Interesting idea, use black holes as weapon. I think you should give more feedback to the player on what's happening. It took me a while to realize that the other characters were giving me damage. Good game overall, and well done on the engine.
Interesting concept, and the graphics were pretty cute. One thing that bugged me, though, was how dangerous the black holes were. They kill you in one touch, but you have more than enough health to leisurely wade through enemies. It almost seemed like it was better to ignore the black holes and just dig through the level!
The sprites were good. Sometimes I would kill an enemy with a black hole but then I would block myself from continuing because then there's a blank hole in my way. Maybe they can go away after some time or be removed by the player some way?
@TheColorMan, That's the reason why they exist. It becomes a puzzle as you figure out where and when to place the black holes
Neat idea. I think the game needs more polish, but using black holes as a weapon is a cool concept. I wish the holes had physics that suck enemies in or make them orbit or something rather than just being a stationary instadeath thing. The fact that you're digging dirt to get 'black hole ammo' seems a bit odd to me. Like I get that its a video game and doesn't necessarily have to make sense, but I'm not sure how the digging dirt thing really helps the gameplay. It just seems like two different game concepts stuck together. A game just focusing on making black holes would have been fine I think. Graphics are fine, I found the weird running animation on the character oddly amusing. Not bad overall!
