LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Two Man, One Screen by Mak 2014-12-12T18:12:00

Wow thank you very much guys ^^. It makes me very happy to think that you enjoyed playing my game.

About music and sound, I totally agree i should´ve included some. Next time, that would be one of my top priorities, thanks for the feedback!

Face the Dark by Shide 2014-12-12T18:29:00

Awesome game, I loved it. You made a really sad story and good mechanics, and good graphics too! I wouldnt have presented it for humor cathegory, though :P.

Rare Earth by Thingo Studios 2014-12-15T19:51:00

Really good game! I really loved how you builded different bosses with so little mechanics, and I enjoyed a lot finding out enemies weaknesses

Robot Karma Joe by Jupitron 2014-12-12T18:39:00

Really good game! Also, really weird: destroy the inner eyes of a giant robot in order to eliminate the shield surrounding its brain and kill it while dodging tentacles? Brilliant!

Jamception by Crocanti de Pollo 2014-12-09T20:58:00

Good idea, great executing, it make me feel really tense, like if I hadn´t completed my game in time.

One screen, one shoot by DarkEngineer 2014-12-12T18:18:00

Nice map generation, I would like to know how to do such a thing, honest. I´m sure if you had had more time, it would have been awesome. Don´t get discouraged, in my first Ludum I also didn´t finish.

The Story of Cheap Ranger by DavidVisscher 2014-12-13T21:15:00

Let me say this first: I had SO MUCH fun playing your game. The controls and the mechanics felt so good! In fact there were moments in which I felt like a badass. Like when I killed three enemies with a single arrow, while falling to the pit and then double-jumped to get it back.

Really great job!

Eat fruits by piotrevic 2014-12-12T18:46:00

I loved it! Controls are very smooth, I really felt in control of the character in every moment. Also, i find very original the way enemies appear and how they represent your punctuation without a HUD!

From Well by Rushout Games 2014-12-09T21:43:00

Good controls, I missed the ability to control a little bit the height of my jump. Red level was too hard for me D:. But, overall, really fun.

fantastic thatha by srinivasan 2014-12-10T14:42:00

Mechanics are promising but the game needs some polish. I would recommend to start with a little story to encourage people to deliver the gifts and some ways to make the experience last longer, if it gets faster over the time I am sure it will be more adictive.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Fighting Words by Clavus 2015-04-21T16:40:00

Really cool, maybe some music to make it feel more frenetic will suit it nicely.

Into The Fray by Naked_Samurai 2015-04-21T19:30:00

The core mechanic of telling your agent where NOT to go is really great, I loved it! But the game is far too slow I think... got super frustrated each time I had to restart. Even I restarted several times in a row in order to exploit the randomnes, which, by the way, adds a cool layer to the game.

Size-o-Tron 3000 by SamH 2015-04-25T10:52:00

The level design is very good, and you have a good curve of difficulty here, but there are some problems you need to tweak : Movement is not precise for such small levels, for bigger ones will be nice, the weapons are used very little which makes me sad, because they are good. And the worst of all is that hitboxes are very little clear. This may be because I am more a mechanics guy than a graphics guy, but I think is better to choose recognizble square-like sprites than to make it prettier at the cost of clarity.

Attack on Castle Tubswicks by Jokerbomb 2015-04-26T11:23:00

Quite entertaining indeed. You did an excellent job with the curve of difficulty, except maybe the boss was too easy. The controls were nice and responsive, so it felt really good to play. The fact that every character in the game is a rubber duck and the final boss is a zombie, only makes it better.

P.O.F : The Power of Friendship by denycetm 2015-04-26T16:25:00

Wow I liked Rico very much as a character, he seemed nice and have a cool way of walking. Controls were good and graphics beautifull, but the music didn't hit the point. The level is quite cool and big, but I missed some checkpoints, as traversing it can take you some time.

Stick Quest by louis.denizet 2015-04-22T18:57:00

I wasn't able to play :(. When I come to speak with the leaf and he is going to give me the stick, it goes floating making two arcs, and avoids me, merging into the ground and dissapearing.

Dimension Traveller by Crafting4U 2015-04-25T10:36:00

It's great! You have such a satisfying game of changing between dimensions! Really liked it. Good mixture of platforms and puzzles and good use of the graphics to communicate. Keep working, this is so good ^^.

Vulgaris by robodylan 2015-04-26T16:51:00

I really liked the black holes mechanic because it felt like the most dangerous things were not the enemies, but your own attacks! Really liked that concept.

Bane of Arthropods by AnaglyphCoding 2015-04-21T17:31:00

This game is... how could I describe it? I guess I could say is unconventional! I don't really know what you wanted to achieve by making it, but it gave me a really different experience. I got surprised many, many times by it!

Jumping needs improvement though.

Laserino by 43iscoding 2015-04-21T14:28:00

Wow, great game, excelent and smooth physics, I really liked that. Also good work making the player learn with no tutorials, well designed levels.

If I had to say some problem I would say two levels. The one with 5 bars moving up and down was really hard to beat and it didn't allow much play with the bounce mechanics. And the last one, I don't know if it is too difficult just for me, but I had to beat it by means of luck.

Overall a great experience, though.

Sweet Dreams by Yvanor 2015-04-21T14:59:00

Good sound and nice mechanics, felt really good. I would like to have a little context, though, just a little story of what and why you are doing this.

Quite fun.

Kill'em Veggies by Kasmilus 2015-04-23T16:52:00

I think you were too negative, the game is quite fun! Controls are clunky, but I enjoyed the combat. I think it sends a powerull message "Meat eaters are badasses". Too bad I didn't complete the game because i got too frusrated against a giant weapon wielder in a bottleneck.

Dinos Vs Volcanoes by Hambone 2015-04-22T19:04:00

A bit too hard, but quite exciting! Having to gather resourcers so quickly while having to tecognize what towers to put for the enemies. Sometimes it is too confusing due to the huge amount of resources in screen. Maybe you could make them to appear less but require more clicks to collect them, it would saturate less the screen and may keep the feelof urgency.

Sociokar by Krunoslav 2015-04-21T15:37:00

Cool mechanic, liked to look for influentiable people to convert. Also loved the pictures. But I didn't like the move system, and found it unncessary, maybe a random generator triggered with a click would fit it better?

I had much fun with it it though.

The Legend of the Fisherman by UrbanHelsing 2015-04-22T18:46:00

Cool mechanic, I really liked that when you get hit you have to eat your own weapon to continue fighting haha, it is also cool the feeling that you companions are in danger while you fish. Combat was hard, but I think is for the best, as getting in danger is a thrilling experience. But the camera sure needs some work, it is frustrating to run into some enemies I couldn't see. Maybe you could just center it in the character.

Tic-Tac-Blow by Bardikus 2015-04-21T15:09:00

The game is quite fun and very clever, but some jumps are too small and difficult to execute, i would say level design is the main concern here.

An Unconventional Error by Joe Lawrence 2015-04-22T17:27:00

Quite good, but i would have prefered no spoilers in the description. Anyway, I keep wondering i the game can beaten (aside from the non-to-play tactic)

Bounce by Vulkanmannen 2015-04-22T18:04:00

Really fun! Good mixture of thinking ahead of things and use of reflexes. Also a good difficulty curve and nice sound to go by! You may not have touched the theme but it is a really good game, very enjoyable.

payload by rburema 2015-04-26T11:33:00

Cool game, a bit rough on the start, but good physics make it fun to fail.

Clean Killings by Jeedan 2015-04-27T15:55:00

Pretty fun game! The movement system was a little strange but quite interesting. I enjoyed very much fighting spiders, although the rats were too thought, I don't know how to fight them without being hitted or using the vacuum. Really liked the vacuum also, it was powerfull but balanced. Couldn't progress much, from wave 6 it was pretty damn hard, but also fun. Good job overall.

Area Weapon Domination by terrykim426 2015-04-21T14:48:00

I really liked the idea behind the game, it forced you to think about how much space you want to move before attacking, wether or not to move into the enemies territory... It really is quite cool. If you work around it you can get something really cool, I think.

Viking Insult Fight by ARubino 2015-04-21T17:01:00

The humor is excellent, at pair with that of your influences!

But I feel the game is too hard to beat and feel a bit rough to learn all insults. Maybe this would be more fun if some counters worked with more than one insult, making you feel more like you can win .

Behind the Fence by fasterthanlime 2015-04-21T16:31:00

Great story and music, both made me shiver! Also a good use of other sounds. I finally regreted my decission, but didn't play again because I dind't want to change the path I took.

Just one slight thing, I would prefer for the music to never stop (except in the mornings, I liked it when just the wind flew).

LD35 — Shapeshift

Chromawarp by tower07 2016-04-19T18:47:00

I must say, this is the second game I play this Ludum Dare, but... oh my god, i can't believe I will find I game i like more.

The idea is super interesting and fun, it is very colorfull, has shooting and great music, it has mistery as you don't know what will the next color do and even a level of mastery as you come to learn the zones...

I will be back later, to play some more. Heck I am gonna play again when I finish commenting it.

The Combinator by El Cabaro 2016-04-21T00:11:00

I am really amazed of how much content this game has. I did not like very much the flow of the game, as you had to fight some enemies over and over and, in the end, you die with no apparent solution.

But the asthetics, the sound, the image, the dumb sense of humor... it all made it a really fun experience.

Shapey by JALgames 2016-04-19T19:30:00

Haha! So fun game! I really liked the sounds, specially the jump ones (the squarey form was the fucking best), although the sheeps scared the shit out of me. The mechanics were interesting enough to keep you thinking, but never break the flow of the jumping. Also, the graphics are incredibly cute.

As a note of complain, the switch doors, it is not really clear wether they are closed or not.

Also loved the options for making sheep sound!

Debrief by machine_screen 2016-04-21T12:39:00

This was really interesting, the world was well crafted and the point of view made it much original, with all the debriefing stuff.

The only thing I didn't like was the choices at the end of the debriefings, I dind't really get the point of them, I guess you had to guess who was the real person and who wasn't but it seem too open of a response.

SteamPunkPuzzleGame by 3T3A 2016-04-21T20:02:00

Controlls were kind of messy, and they were not introduced nicely and modifying the 2nd block was almost impossible due to the camera.

However, I really liked the mechanic, maybe it was a little too complex for an entry like this, but your effort shows up. Also loved the music, I stayed much longer trying to figure out the systems because of it.

Run Rainbow Run by djosef 2016-04-21T12:04:00

Great game, you took an endless runner and made it really fancy with the thing of choosing your color and that nice music! Also great music and animation in the menu, one of the best menus I have seen. Also really liked your double jump mechanic.

MONSTER'S BUFFET by glitchu 2016-04-19T18:37:00

I really liked it, you say you got little time but the result is superb! You implemented the mechanics of stealth really nice. And it was really smart to include and escape mechanic like that, good thinking. I also really liked the animations of the monster and the eating.

Wasteland Wars by LavaGhost 2016-04-21T13:15:00

It was a nice little game, but sometimes had problems, specially due to not bering able to kill 5 enemies in an area because there aren't or because the map won't let you advance.

It also had great problems with weird collision boxes. I will recommend you to try out an engine like unity or something alike, if you were able to creat such a thing only in java, imagine what you could do with those tools. I talk you from experience, I have done a few games with just java (not even a framework) and too much time is wasted in low-level stuff, you can't get the best out of you.

I think I really liked was the way damage points displayed, so bouncy :D.

Blobby Slime by williambsm 2016-04-20T23:45:00

Great job for a great experience, good thinking focusing in a proven format, as the endless runner, and I really liked the twist of having to use the mouse to collect the points.

As a little programming tip, I suggest you eliminate the vertical forces just before the double jump, it makes for a more cohesive and responsive doble jump.

Logan's Quest by Joshsimard 2016-04-19T19:55:00

Wow, such a nice job! Jumping and then becoming ball was very fun, indeed.

Although I think is too hardcore... even if you don't die, your jumps send you so far down that you have to redo the same things a lot. But, if that is your style, it's perfectly fine, keep it up"

Subject 621 by DuckTieTeam 2016-04-21T12:20:00

You got it man, I loved the mechanics, I want more levels! You tuned the mechanics so well, I bet you can make great levels with it.

For example, when you deselect something, it slowl regain its form, so why not make a level with four pillars, and you have to change the size of a pillar, go on top of it and then change the size of the next pillar mid air or something...

It has many possibilities! Great job!

No Hope In Hell by team_disposable 2016-04-21T19:47:00

Controlls are kind of unresponsive so it's really unconfortable to play. But graphics and sound are great! With some tighter controlls and a little more focus on the mechanics, it may improve a lot.

Zuran by DarkFieldGames 2016-04-20T23:54:00

Wow, really liked it! A great job! You had and expert hand introducing a complex concept. It had also a relaxing music and graphics, felt really nice. I did want more content, what's a pretty good sign of quality. I also liked your origanility with the theme, changing the form of others is quite nice.
