Game's fun. I can see the potential of it! I can't say I finished the game myself but I will leave feedback anyway.
You forgot to say the walls include the ground. You forgot to say you can't teleport through walls. You forgot to say that they will teleport you to where your mouse is. It feels unnecessary to even through the cat further as it's too strong already...
The camera does not help in the gameplay. It lashes too hard and will induce nausea. You are better off having it zoomed out more and not go too far from the character.
There's actually a bug in this! I saw the gibs and all even though I caught the cat and counted as a failure. (You can even see the cat being held) Happens when you shoot too low and grabbed it at the same time.
Good idea. Not so great execution... or rather the wrong decisions has been made at some point. As your first time doing compo. This is well done for the theme and the idea! Great job~ It has potential, too. If you have the spare time, you should work on it a bit more.
I'm not exactly sure what the point of the game is, my character doesn't move. All I can do is chuck the baby and it dies no matter what ): Cute art though
@forevertrash The directions are below the game on Itch.io, I didn't have time to add a tutorial haha. You can teleport to the mouse with E, but only after the babey is thrown.

Nice idea. I'd put a more detailed description though. I kind of had to work out what to do. I love the contrast between the happy music and colors and the fact that you are lobbing a baby kitten through the air and trying to catch it otherwise it explodes in blood.
@fiakaiera
Thank you for the advice on the description, I will update accordingly.
Thank you for the feedback! I agree, with the camera, it was not my ideal way of doing things. I wanted a system where if you teleported out of a certain area around the player, the game would slow down until the camera caught up to the player. Had to focus on getting everything finished though, so I took a good enough approach there.
I saw that bug! I choose to leave it in, because none of my play testers found it.

Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Really neat idea. Playing on a mouse pad was tough but the mechanic was fun and kept me trying.
@pilarius Thank you!
@n8 Yeah I was surprised by how fun it was after developing it. I have plans to continue working on it for the next year or so. If anyone is interested in seeing the progress go ot @samsdevlog on twitter. :)
It took me a while to realize how to play but then learned that it was my own fault since the instructions were right under the web game lol. I tried about 12 times and I was fairly hooked but couldn't get past the part with the second level because I couldn't teleport myself up there. I'm not sure if it's just not possible to do it or I wasn't doing it right.
For what it's worth, I use a laptop with a built-in trackpad mouse, so it's trickier to play games that rely on quick and accurate mouse movement.
Also, sometimes when I went to move, the game screen would slide down quickly, which would cause me to only move partway.
Cool concept and definitely addictive!

This game was pretty fun to play! It was pretty hard though. I feel like the camera needs a bit of improvement since at many times I lost Babey in mid air. Congrats on your first Compo, Great job overall!

After some minutes I started really liking the controls. Finding the portal was really hard! When the controls, are this hard, a small indicator showing in what direction to go, or a minimap would have been nice. Having the player and the cat in a different pixel size than the platforms and background stands out to me. But might make it easier to distinguish the player from the background? Music is a bit repetitive, so a way to mute it or just turn it down would be nice. The sound effects are perfect, matches the pixel graphics. Definitely one of the hardest LD46 game I've played up until now. Great job :thumbsup:
Hahaaaa! This is hilarious. I wish i could teleport through walls or around corners though.
@blobo Sooon. I plan to release some updates for it. I'm torn between keeping the movement the same with the ability to teleport through things, or giving the character 3 dashes and having time slow when you through the babey.
This mechanic is so damn fun! It's perfect as a speedrun game. You can go slow and safe or fast and risky. There is a lot of polish that can be made to the art and the music was pretty grating but there is so much potential here just based on the mechanic. Also as a minor thing, I know the cat exploding is pretty fun but it drags a bit and restarts should be faster.

It's really fun to play. The mouse movement is a bit quick, and it's annoying to get out of the game and into the black area. But I really liked the overall idea, and I see a great potential. Nice one. Cheers
The controls are so hard that I unfortunatelly haven't gotten too far. But the idea seems nice, too bad it's not executed too well. But not much can be done in this limited timeframe so well done anyway. The only thing I'd really change (beside the way you move) is to make the death not as slow... When the cat dies, it takes too long IMO until you can try again so it's just a lot of waiting. And trust me, I was so bad at this game that I had to wait quite often. Anyways, keep up the good work.
I liked the mechanic a lot! O: It may need some changes tho, I felt the camera controller mouse was kind of annoying, maybe something with levels(or checkpoints) would work better :) Good job

Getting the hang of catching the cat took a few attempts, but when you figure that out the mechanics are really fun! I do think the restarting after dying took too long. And the camera moved around too much. It felt particularly weird when it went outside the actual gameplay area. I agree with @fiakaiera's suggestion that zooming out and moving less would help. But overall, really nice job, I think you did great with the theme and I really enjoyed it!
I like this game, it's very fun but I like the song a little less. Good game
Once I got a feel for how to play this game it was quite fun. There are some times where you are blocked from teleporting by apparent collisions with the environment which was frustrating. As others have mentioned, the camera was a bit difficult to control as well, often it would cost me an attempt because it moved in a way I didn't expect. Overall, this was a really interesting and enjoyable concept.

The idea is super cool but man it's just so fuckin' hard :D Even by default it's not easy the mouse that moves the screen as weel did not help at all :)) I have to mention the sound which is in total harmony with the theme and the design. Neat one!
weird game but strangely sort of fun after i figured out how it worked, didn't make it ot the end though The camera panning is a nightmare though and makes things harder than it needs to be. Appreciated the total weirdness of the setting, had to turn down the music after not too long, not resetting the tune when you die would have helped a little to avoid over repetetiveness. Can sort of see some potential in the mechanic.
