This was great! Saw you post that you were doing a family-team this Ludum Dare on the Feed a little while ago, and kept an eye open to try the game. You guys did great!
Love the art style, and the the music fit the feel of the game perfectly.
Only noticed two things that you might want to fix: * When grabbing the bow, the "Bow held in the air from your hand" layer is behind the gate layer. So if you click on the bow while the gate is still opening, you can see it clip behind there. * I noticed sometimes the music tracts started playing when another was playing. Like, I'd get game over, and when I hit try again the game over music doesn't stop. * A few times, I had the wrong end picture appear? Not sure why though :\ * You can brute force through the knight by spam clicking
Amazing different ending scenes by the way. Probably my favorite bits of the game; great details XP
Awesome job!
Post comment edit: I was testing something for the sake of bug hunting, and there's different art for being hurt at the end!?
@mrpiedpiper Thank you so much for the feedback!! Those bug reports were very helpful and should all be fixed now! I'm looking forward to playing your game too! :D
That's... really great ! I'm jalous of your kids who are waaaayy better artists than me ! So, there is an ending (three in fact :p ) and that's cool !
I think your team can do good point & click

I couldn't play, it says I need to have a controller to play :(
@shunaky you don’t need a controller. You just click the yes or no controller buttons with your mouse.

Great game! It's hilarious that you can just abandon your brother. Always love that kind of twist

I tried the game now, there are some issues on how the colliders work to damage you, but considering that you let the kids do all the work, that is awesome, I'm pretty sure they loved the experience.
About the battle: - The Duck button should have a priority over the shooting, you can create a timer after shooting that you can't duck or jump, but if you are airborn or ducking you can't shoot. - Sometimes the enemy's spell hit me even when I already let it go, maybe reducing the hit area for behind the head will solve this issue.
Your kids did an awesome job, I loved the Gameover for choosing not to help the brother hahahaha
Omg, I love it :) So sad that this game is so small, but this is a complete handmade! So cute and funny :)

Good job! Was the branstorming also something the boys participated in? I love that you did this with your family. I participated with my husband this year. :D Also I liked the game. It is short but I didn't feel it was unfinished. There are always things we would want to add but we run out of time. If you'll be working some more on the game I'd like to see it again. So tell me if there is a way to follow up on you guys. I hope you get enough reviews to be placed. Keep up the good work game-making-wise and parenting-wise.
My wife  told me about this game. Really nice thing to do with family. It would be great if there was a hint that the end graphics is different depending on the damage you have taken, but it's great nonetheless.
Unlike many other games this LD, this one has a soul. A brother sacrificing himself for his brother. Nicely done
@mags Thanks! Yes Rowen and Elliott were absolutely involved in the brainstorming. That was the first thing we did friday night. Was all of us brainstorming. Here is a screenshot of our brainstorm notes:

The name of this game drew me in, haha.
This is a cute little adventure! I like its lighthearted tone. It'd be nice if there were a more direct link between defeating the knight and freeing your friend, but the ending still made me chuckle. Nice work.

Woah, I'm glad I went to play this game, the art style is so cute and gameplay is fun, loved the little puzzle and shooting game, if this was a full point and click game with multiple little minigames I would pay for it, no doubt.... well done!

Love all the artwork and different endings. Initially took me a little while to figure out the puzzle to get the bow but I eventually figured it out. I first thought I was supposed to line the sliders up. I didn't see a health bar for the knight, that was really the only issue I noticed. Great job.

Hey, nice little game! It's really cool that you worked together on this as a family. The game has a quirky kind of charm to it, and I found the "No" ending to be quite funny with the way it's drawn.

That's really cute! I love the family aspect of it. I wish there was a way to get more life somehow, but it's short enough that it didn't run out for me in my playthrough. Great job!
This was really cool! I'd like to see more. Here's a recording of my playthrough:

@mrjoshuamclean Thanks for the playthough video! That was great feedback about putting the credits on the title screen, I totally agree!
