I just found out we both have the same name for our game this theme~ That's a first for me.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD44 → MoneyBag

That's why mine ends with "-1". To be honest I just haphazardly entered the first name that crossed my mind two hours before submissions ended, haha.
Fun concept! Really hope I could've popped the bag at the end screen!
Thanks! I initially wanted to make the bag pop but i was short on time and didn't want to tempt fate.
Very cool, congratulations for your first entry. The concept of getting smaller / bigger depending on the money with influence on the jump height is a very clever usage of the theme, 5/5.
Could have been a little longer, but for 48h and first time participation really good.
Congratulations for your first entry.
I would have enjoyed some more levels. The concept is nice and it is visually pleasant (especially MoneyBag, absolutly love him with his little hat). If next time, you have time to create a music, it really helps to give a great mood to your game.
Nice work :)
Thank you! I tried learning music composition but really can't get to even make a short track. Maybe next time I'll be competiting in Jam instead and opt-out of Audio, but I wanted to test myself on Compo.
Reducing your life to manipulate the height of your jumps is a neat concept. Turned out to be a cute little puzzle game. I like it. Could be longer
I really liked the idea of the amount of money/health Influencing your Jump height. The graphics are also nice, great work!
Very clever to reduce the jump height with coins. Love the fat greedy sprite xd Maybe adding a background music will improve the game experience. I enjoy playing it congratularions!
For the first time it is quite solid game. Interesting mechanics that demands you to control how greedy you are, I like that!
Maybe the music could be more interesting, but current one is also good, better than silence
When exporting game with Godot, it is probably good to uncheck "Export with Debug" field, and also in Project Settings/Display/Window you can set Mode 2d and Aspect keep. This way even if one resize the window, the game will adjust properly
Great first entry, keep on learning!
Great job, I like the fact that you had to connect picking up money gains weight and that made the game into an amazing puzzle solving platformer!
Thank you everybody!
I actually knew about the viewport Strech and the "Export with Debug", my HTML export died at the last minute and in the panic I forgot the set them up when exporting for Windows. I oopsed :slight_frown:
Nice job! Congrats on your first submission, very well done. Nice gameplay mechanic, and the scope and length of the game suits this type of competition very well. I enjoyed playing and finishing this game!
Great job! Always nice to see Godot entries, and, as others have stated, you can export without the debugger. I love the character design and concept around jumping, it just felt like the character was floating a bit too much. But that's really just a minor complaint. I really enjoyed the game!
Absolutely fantastic. Good show, sir. I'm impressed by your creative take on the theme. The weight\life factor made it really interesting. Graphics are sweet as well. Well done!
Great first entry there were some clever concepts
The core mechanic is pretty good, and the octopus is so cute (with the hat more). Also, I don't know why I decided to get all the money that I could so the numbers would go outside the text box. image.png
Really fun, simple and elegant. Currency/Jump mechanic is inspired.
Nice gameplay idea, hurt youselft to finish the level ! I had good time playing, thanks !
Very good game for a compo game :)
I liked how the money gives you too much weight. It's like that in life.
But I am not sure if it was a bug, but I couldn't buy a thing for 100c on level with red bullets... Don't know what that was supposed to be.
But all in all, this could be turned into a commercial game. Don't give up on the idea.
Congratulations to finishing this! It's a fine tiny little game :)
Thank you everybody for your kind words.
@kaisean-games I assume you're talking about the second bonus, if it's not bugged you need to finish the previous screen with 120 coins and not get hit (You're defeated if you reach 0 coins, so 100 ins't enough as buying the bonus would get you to 0).
That's bad design on my part, since you can't respawn to the previous screen if you accidentally start it with 100 or less, I should've made it so the enemy stop shooting once you're down to 120.
@chameleon I see. Yeah, I think I entered with much less. I might just try again. 😉
This was a really innovative way of using the theme, I would go as far as saying that it is the best use of the theme that I have seen so far. There is just so much in this game, really impressive that you managed it during the Compo time, specially with graphics that are this nice. The style of the game is very coherent and it just feels so complete.
Thank you so much for making this!
The coin/jump mechanic is neat, makes for some cool puzzles. Great Job!
great idea puzzle and coin as your life really hit the theme, and supported with good graphic, very good game
I really like the idea that not only the coins are your live but also that you sometimes actually need to lose some live to continue
Great idea! And well executed! Had me wishing for more levels to play!
Cool puzzle mechanic! Liked the idea and the aesthetics! The octopus is soooo cute :D If it had music too, it would feel like a complete game. Very polished. Had a lot of fun playing it. Amazing work!
I liked that life was both currency and a weight modifier. That added a lot of complexity to the mechanic compared to the typical life-spending mechanic that so many games (including mine) have had during this jam.
To improve, I'd say more complex levels that take more advantage of the mechanics would be the biggest thing.
Thank you for your feedback everybody!
Truth be told I'm just bad at coming up with puzzles, that and the time limit are why there is so few levels. I don't regret giving it a try, it was very interesting to try something unfamiliar.
Nice game! I know personally (from trying and failing) how hard it can be to come up with puzzles, but I think you did a good job for a jam! I think if you had allowed the player to spend all of their "health" (e.g. 100 health on a 100 health machine) then it would have fit the theme even more. Great first entry!
Really nice concept. Great entry
Hey, I actually really liked your game: the weird charadesign, the nice secrets that are puzzles (oculd have been more but still is very ok), and the idea to loose some health to progress is, in my opinion, super clever.
Nice entry ^^
