LD44 — Your life is currency

The Battle for Slime King on Slime Mountain by MrTroy 2019-04-30T02:34:25Z

It was a little hard to control and tell where I was attacking or if I was even hitting something, but it was super cute and I loved the entire aesthetic of it. It was super cute!

No Time by MouthlessGames 2019-04-29T23:05:56Z

Great job. It's an interesting take on the theme and I had fun going through the choices you could make. The voices were a bit overpowering compared to the music. I was trying to listen music and then a voice would start and hurt my ears a bit. I enjoyed this quite a bit!

Drytown by DavidPIxel 2019-04-29T22:21:41Z

Amazing game with amazing music and mood. Great job!

Grim Adventures by ursagames 2019-05-01T01:06:41Z

I really enjoyed this, but the camera was a bit annoying in small buildings. I would have loved to be able to turn it to face where the player was facing. The character also felt a little heavy to me, but I have a preference for faster and more agile characters in platformers, so that's a preference rather than I problem I think. Great job!

Town of Currency by Drauthius 2019-04-30T15:17:55Z

I really love this game. There was a small graphical problem where there were your tilemap did some weird stuff where enemies died, but that's such a small thing. Great job!

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-05-01T02:40:30Z

Such a great game. I absolutely loved everything about this one.

GAIZAN : JUSTICE WAR by 3mpty 2019-04-30T14:48:48Z

The art and nostalgia are great, but it's kind of hard to play. Looking around and aiming feels really slow and I feel a bit hard to control, and the camera was constantly clipping through walls making things hard to see. With some minor tweaks to gameplay to make it a bit less clunky, I think this would be super fun. The sound is great, the mood is great, and I'd love to play this again because when I wasn't fighting controls, I was having a lot of fun.

The Kindercatch by LillyByte 2019-04-30T01:31:32Z

Loved the art, mood, and sound. Dogs were a bit hard to see at times, and the children got to the doors too quickly for me. I had so much fun playing it, and it's one I'll be coming back to to play more of! Amazing work!

Life-Time by Untitled Studios 2019-04-29T23:55:14Z

I had so much fun playing this game. I wasn't expecting how quick it was. Great job!

Your life is currency by hypp 2019-04-29T19:00:18Z

Nice take on the theme. It's a little hard to control and shoot, but I am not the best at these types of games to begin with, so that may be me.

Scarf Scarf by Memedev0 2019-04-29T19:45:48Z

I'm really not sure what I just played, but I had fun playing it. The colors hurt my eyes though until I got to black and white or the purple. Might be something to look into.

Hero Shop by antvelm 2019-04-29T21:32:01Z

I absolutely adore this game. I fits the theme, the music is great, and I love the idea of playing as the shop keep. Absolutely great!

PANDEMONIUM: A Card Game by Borys 2019-04-30T15:27:52Z

Beautiful art, great music. It really sets the mood. Took me a bit to figure out what was happening, but afterwords, I loved the strategy around it. I wasn't quite sure what I was trying to do until I was almost out of cards and put it together. Amazing game. Loved it!

D E A T H S G R A S P by Auzrial 2019-04-30T14:34:14Z

I loved this game. The atmosphere, art style, and mood are phenomenal. I did run into a problem where after selecting to continue killing, after killing the next victim - specifically the drunk, the game screen went black, music continued to play, but the game never recovered. I had to alt f4 out and restart. I'll be coming back to this one to see the endings though. Amazing job.

Blood Money by SuperGamersGames 2019-04-29T18:45:47Z

Keeping track of all of the conditions was pretty fun, and it sounded and felt satisfying to hit the right person. I know this is just RNG but there were a few times even on the single item lists where it went through about 10 or so people before getting to one I could actually reap.

EnigmaDeath by DigitalLimestone 2019-04-29T19:26:19Z

I absolutely loved the take on the theme and the music was extremely nice to listen to. After I stopped playing, I left the game open just to listen to the music for a bit. However, movement was really difficult to get used to and I got lost a lot. I think maybe a slower movement speed and a slightly higher jump would do wonders for the issues I was having.

Noobmancer by IanLux 2019-04-30T14:55:47Z

This was so much fun to play! Amazing art, music, and sound effects. Absolutely fantastic job!

AVE Knight by NinjaCatz 2019-04-29T18:35:52Z

I loved the art style and feel of the game. Only two minor complaints: 1) Not being able to control the text speed. It was always too slow for me. 2) There were certain decorations that I thought would do something but were just decorations. This is one I'm gonna come back to and beat!

Menorah's Quest by enderswype 2019-04-30T15:13:44Z

Fun, simple, and I love the concept. Great job!

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-29T18:15:44Z

@boltkey Were you using the dash as well as the jump? In my testing, I could get everywhere and then some. Not sure about the alt-tabbing, but you can play in windowed mode via the options. That should help. Thanks for playing!

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-29T19:33:24Z

@ldjsq Thank you <3

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-29T19:35:15Z

@mrschlag2 Just from knowing how the game works, I can guess that you couldn't pick up a soul because doing so would have killed you. You have to collect coins or preserve health to do that and finish the level. Thank you so much for the feedback and playing!

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-29T21:06:09Z

@noobexception Dashing in the opposite direction when you're standing still is a bit of code left in from the original idea. It's meant to be a back dash, so intentional but not intentional.

@nyri0 Gamepad is something that completely skipped my mind during the crunch time. It's definitely something I'll put into the game when I do more with it.

@fanmanpro Because you use your life to interact with things or save souls, if you only had one hit point left, that's why you couldn't. I probably could have explained that better. But if you have two hearts, you can do it. As for the upgrade, the name is above the upgrade lamp. I need to put something to indicate what you chose more than just the effect of it, but I ran out of time ><

@tractorfarm and everyone else mentioned here, thank you so much!

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-30T01:39:17Z

@vinmh Thank you! Glad you liked it!

@wubbaduck If I had had more time, I would have put in a tutorial or controls to show what you could do with that. I'll remember to be more clear the next time I make one of these. The platforms thing is definitely a bug, but one I know about but didn't have time to fix and that wasn't completely game breaking. You can get yourself out by dashing up though! I did use a capsule collider for the character, mostly because I didn't want the character hanging out in the air if they were on the edge. And the backward dash is from an earlier build that didn't get fixed. If you stand still it's supposed to have been a back dash to avoid traps. As for not dashing, there's a cooldown you can reduce to dash. Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-30T14:57:52Z

@c0d3d and @nick-rafalski Thank you very much!

@cem-adiloglu Thank you, but may I ask what exactly was hurting your eyes? I'm always trying to focus on accessibility, so having an idea of what that might be will help me make adjustments to future or even current projects.

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-30T16:39:57Z

@boxedmeatrevolution Thank you for the kind words! And noted on the trail and water effects. I'm always trying to find ways to improve quality of life or accessibility, so the feedback is greatly appreciated. I think what I'll end up doing when I work more on this is add options like turning the shadow trail off and lessening the water effects. I unfortunately ran out of time to put those in.

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-04-30T19:33:33Z

@coder-channel @drauthius @nayrahbbt @bleyo Thank you for the kind words. As for not being able to get out of the water on the right side (or the left side for that matter), you can combine jumping and dashing. Not only does it open up a lot of ways to play the game, but you can easily get out using that combination.

The Oarsman by SefrZ 2019-05-01T00:43:43Z

@repine and @castrolol Thank you so much for the kind words!

@sondrian Thank you for the feedback. Character movement is probably the hardest thing for me to get right, but lowering acceleration made it feel floaty to me. The settings I have there felt very tight for me, but I think that's a place where playtesting is really needed for games. Thank you for the kind words!

MoneyBag by Chameleon 2019-04-29T22:38:45Z

Great job! Always nice to see Godot entries, and, as others have stated, you can export without the debugger. I love the character design and concept around jumping, it just felt like the character was floating a bit too much. But that's really just a minor complaint. I really enjoyed the game!

Withdrawal by glibjibb 2019-04-29T19:33:05Z

I got swarmed really quickly and the accuracy felt a bit off, but I had a lot of fun once I got the hang of it.

Your last 10 seconds by guimero64 2019-04-29T23:48:02Z

Extraordinarily innovative take on this theme. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Slimevery by Edusrmt 2019-04-30T02:42:22Z

I love how cute this game is and the take on the theme. I had some trouble getting the slimes to act the way I wanted. Great job!

Boxes Rush by Mia Devs 2019-04-30T15:41:37Z

I like the idea and loved the music, but there's quite a few small things that just don't quite make it fun for me.

I was able to get so far ahead that I never noticed anything, so it just became running around collecting coins after a while. The start was fun, but after I reached that point, it was a bit boring for me.

The end wall doesn't work and the scroll speed for the start needs to be sped up or skippable.

Those are my biggest complaints, but other than that I really enjoyed the start where I had to worry about enemies. With some work and bug fixes, I think this would be a great game! I hope you keep working on it.

Blood for Blood by tapehead 2019-05-01T20:37:54Z

Loved this, it was very well polished and the sound design was great. I found that if I could get sticks on all four corners, I never needed to upgrade though. Not cheating like that it was still super fun. Great job!

RogueLife by FedorL 2019-04-29T22:49:43Z

I'm very confused what's going on, but I love the aesthetics. Intentional or not, I killed stairs and couldn't stop laughing.

Time Hero by altazar 2019-04-29T22:44:44Z

Feels a little sluggish, but the aging mechanic works great and I enjoy the concept. Great job!
