Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Unfortunately your game link 404s! You may have forgotten to make the game public on itch.io

jakemchugh1 2020-04-24 05:22

The link is invalid!

dmtroy 2020-04-24 05:47

I'm afraid the game link is invalid

maimai 2020-04-24 07:42

Hey @a1gemmel @jakemchugh1 @dmtroy @pilarius Thanks so much for letting me know! I usually don't get a chance to check back in during the week. The link should be working now. Try the game again, and please update your rating if you think it deserves it. Thanks again!

I like the look of the game and the concept could be interesting.

However, unless there was something I was missing, the progression through the game was waaay too slow, and it very quickly got so dull that I had no motivation to continue. I got past the first two delivery requirements, but then got to the third one where you needed to get the bamboo. As far as I could tell, the max I could grow at a time was weed toilet paper in 2 toilets, which I had, but the profit margins on this was absolutely tiny. After keeping at this for about 20 minutes, I only had around $50, and in order to even begin growing bamboo toilet paper for the next goal, I'd need $250 dollars for both a bathtub and the first bamboo seed bag. I figured this would take me well over an hour, which was not remotely worth it especially given the fact that the gameplay largely consisted of watching plants grow excruciatingly slowly. It was also frustrating to have to repeatedly click on the computer, close the order window (which for some reason opens automatically) and navigate to a menu just to sell for measly profits.

I think this game could've been interesting if the pace was much faster and/or automated, and if there were interesting economic/strategic decisions to make, but as is it seems like it's just grinding. It makes me wonder how this was playtested, unless there is some feature I completely missed.

That's great feedback, @empty-set , thank you! First, I ended up spending so much time getting the game working that I didn't do any balancing beyond making sure the game was beatable. So, you're probably not missing anything. But thank you for your feedback and for spending as much time as you did playing it. I appreciate it!

Haha, this game is hilarious and I'm embarrassed how long it took me to realize the toilet was the planter (duh! we're growing TOILET PAPER). Winner in the humor category for me. Good graphics too! Well done!

residualtoast 2020-05-08 01:55

Took me awhile to figure out the mechanics since there's no visual indication that you're doing anything when you're clicking and dragging on an item or a seed, and I'm not sure if "Weed Paper" is supposed to be hemp or paper made of weeds or something else, but kinda funny, fully upgraded the Shed. Also the slot numbers was a bit confusing since everything seems to slot into a single space regardless of "size"? Which i now realize means that i can plant multiple of smaller things in, rather than shuffling around smaller planters.

sandra-martinez 2020-05-10 04:29

I seriously wonder why a game with such great graphics receive so few ratings... I'm so impressed.

maimai 2020-05-10 04:50

Poor marketing, haha. Thanks @sandra-martinez!

gameovermexico 2020-05-10 05:29

its nice, game whith good graphics, its true why u hv a poor marketing and recive so few ratings

random-thoughts 2020-05-10 07:48

Really surprised that your game doesn't have at least 30 ratings by now, given the amazing graphics that brought me here when I saw the thumbnail. I did find 2 potential bugs. The first is that I don't really need to purchase seeds, I just need to remember where each seed bag position is, then click and drag from there to plant, and I'll get infinite seed supply. The second I'm not too sure but if I max out the store size upgrade then click again, the walls suddenly expand and there is a large grass gap between the last available slot and the wall. Other than that though, its an extremely good looking game, with nice animation, I especially like the truck for the lvl 1 store, with an extremely addicting game play loop that kept me hooked till the end. Good job!

good graphics !

jk5000 2020-05-10 11:59

A fun and very well made little game. It starts a bit slow, but when the game really start it gets much more fun. Overall is this a good jam game. Well done.

desces 2020-05-10 12:08

Interesting topic. Good graphics. I would have added a tutorial at the begging to tell you what to click. Overall a fun concept. A nice feature would be adding an upgrade for auto-harvest. Well done :)

yy404 2020-05-10 12:58

DRAG from seed bag and DROP into Toilet. I think that's what I need to know as a beginner

lukuluk 2020-05-10 15:13

Nice game, I got hooked for 1 hour :D ToT

I think it needs several signs & feedbacks for a better game feeling. At least: - Bump plants when grown to max - Feedback when you drop something (seeds for example)

The transition with the computer is too slow in my opinion (especially since you have a lot of round trips).

I did not pay attention to the delivery mechanic, even if the button was in red, because I could continue progressing without it.

Anyway, well done!

eduardogacn 2020-05-10 19:21

good game and good concept.

Amazing graphics.

jeplmr 2020-05-10 20:09

This was a lot of fun. It took me a moment to realize the seeds need to be planted in the toilet, but I got the hang of it after that. Nice work!

zondarg 2020-05-10 22:08

Homegrown toilet paper? How nice, beautiful art and a cool concept. A little sound or other feedback when successfully planted seeds would be great, I think. Maybe the computer could be integrated into the gameloop better - with an overlay of sorts? Good work!

doritolord 2020-05-11 09:00

i played for way too long! i really really enjoyed it, but please make it more intuitive at the beginning because i didn't understand where i was supposed to plant and nearly gave up

emkani 2020-05-11 10:11

interesting game and fun, the only thing I think is a bit weak is the theme (I known "plants" but you technically aren't doing anything to keep them alive).

nurkkacthulhu 2020-05-11 10:21

Looked great, played great! I liked it. I also almost gave up in the beginning because I did not know what to do, then I realized you need to shutdown computer to get out (I was afraid it'd quit the game lol)

kaisean-games 2020-05-11 10:44

I think I saved the world from shit. And got exactly $10000 doing so.

Very fun game. Too bad you haven't played more games so that this game'd get more ratings. This game reminded me a bit of a game we've made several LDs ago.

The beginning is somewhat slow with only one toilet, but once you upgrade to bamboo, it all goes quite faster.

Nice graphics as well. Keep up the good work.

However, I see that you have updated the game a few days after the deadline and without any note on what you have changed, so please always do explain what has been updated. Otherwise, it's not fair to people that did actually finish the game before the deadline.

bredian 2020-05-11 10:49

Nice inceremental game - played it till I met the world demand. I think that upgrades should be automatically placed in the room since there no room management other than getting enough slots. And yes, transition to computer could be faster since you get there quite often - especially to by weed. Or it should be in some menu. Good job!

kjscott 2020-05-11 11:01

Interesting game, I managed to get through to the first shed upgrade before I had to do other things. It feels a little slow paced but all the controls were pretty intuitive so was easy to get into. overall I had fun, just wish I had a bit more time to invest into it to see how it carries on.

literal-games 2020-05-11 19:26

This was nice once I got used to it, although I couldn't figure out how to plant bamboo... I bought a bath but it didn't seem to allow drag-and-drop from the bamboo bag to the bath. But nice graphics and an unusual theme, with good audio as well that helped convey information to the player. It would be good if it were a bit more user-friendly, which I think will put some people off but I had a good time with this one. Love the effort that's gone into the computer and the little truck that arrives, really gives it a polished feel!
