LD46 — Keep it alive

E.M.D. (Earth Meteorite Defense) by KerelOlivier 2020-05-06T09:36:46Z

Good entry. A simple arcade is good for Android. @awerar, with idea that simple (move shield and deffelect stuff until you win) it is inevitable, I think. I found another game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/keep-it-alive-35) with this concept, also https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/paradigm. Simple core ideas could be implemented by many developers

Got to Find Out by marvalgames 2020-04-29T19:25:07Z

Nice attempt to create topdown shooter, but some moments should be fixed. Firstly, camera is too far away - everything is too small, I can't see protectors hp, for example. Secondly, Protectors posses almost no threat to the player, because the range of your weapon is too long, you end up being out of their threat range. Thirdly, and that is connected with the second point, the bonuses are useless, because you shoot your enemies from the distance. Lastly, Robies AI making this game slightly more frustrating. I guess they running towards what is closer: you or the exit. And when you accidentaly shoot at pit it runs to the exit - you have no way of controlling him because you futher than exit, and he runs right into some flames with very little chance for you to fix this situation. Hope this feedback will make post LD version much better.

Tumble Baby by 01010111 2020-04-20T19:56:23Z

Very innovative approach for familiar puzzle and nice tutorial. Great visuals. But I think the solutions for 2nd and 3rd level are too simple. Just one random click could bring the victory on these levels.

Linux Simulator 2020 by smbe19 2020-04-21T13:35:05Z

It is not a game in typical meaning. It is just another day in Linux terminal :)

Mayday by awerar 2020-05-06T09:49:29Z

This game is super polished and it is finished game with story, effects, cool music, leaderboards, even working settings section! My only tiny problem is restricted shield movement. It feels a bit stiff, and I personally like free movement, but it is just mine personal preference and even current scheme done well.

It Rains Swords by fullmontis 2020-04-21T20:26:11Z

Visually cool game. But there is no reason to move far from the flower, as far swords will never hit the flower, but may damage you. Also controlos are very stiff IMHO.

Fox! Hen! Bag! by 0x01F0 2020-04-23T14:37:27Z

Nice and cute entry. Adorable models and music, nice details, like skeleton. But if you have done something wrong, there is neither distinctive game over, nor the replay option.

Friday at Barney's by AnaGF 2020-04-26T14:52:58Z

It is quite unusual to see a visual novel on the jam. I really like the music.

A Letter To Ed by zoglu 2020-04-20T18:28:08Z

Very nice and atmospheric game

Keep It Alive by ZenriS 2020-05-04T20:15:33Z

Nice simple game. Works smooth. I'd have made telegraphing next shot slightly more obvious, but it is just personal matter.

Grove by doodlebrisk 2020-04-20T21:28:54Z

This game delivers relaxing mood through its gameplay. Kinda what you need after 3 day jamming :). It reminded me of Myst and 7th guest games - nice touch.

Creature Goes To Life by Ommadawn 2020-04-26T09:21:02Z

Really weird game which plays with your expectations. At first it seems like a puzzle, but then it goes crazy. The sound added to this wacky atmosphere. I lived for 160 secs and my creature exploided for no reason, haven't seen his brain overload. Remaking the grahpics assets will surely change the tone, if the tone you targeted was crazy - than you achived that pretty well.

Manual Breathing by legavroche 2020-04-21T05:46:32Z

Interesting concept of manually controlling things that we do subconsciously is innovative. It brings new levels of depth even into the simplest genres. Fun experience.

Tamagotchi Mastermind by Khud0 2020-04-23T12:36:26Z

Very nice graphics. Reminded me of the first chapter of Spore.

Gino the Neutrino by Dark_Power 2020-05-12T14:46:49Z

Very cute game. I think music here is inappropriate sometimes (it changes so drastically that I thought that I didn't close some other game), and controls are too stiff for me, but it is just personal matter.

I thought that I would never find a game about elementary particles, because my game is also about a particle (electron in particular), and I haven't seen this kind of games until this last day.

Anyway - this game is beautiful. I am glad I played it.

Plum by Heelio157 2020-04-25T22:03:10Z

I love your work! Very atmospheric, great visuals, calm soundtrack, challenging puzzles, all is great! Sometimes horizontally moving platforms just go without you. But beyond that - awesome job!

It is tired by Narudgi 2020-05-11T14:45:52Z

Nice soothing game. Simple gamedesign made me play without any question. Audio design worked for mood very well, visual design makes this game so understandable for new players. Bringing more stuff to it, like some bonuses, or more dangerous bombs further in game would make this game even better. I think that it will make this game so good in fact that it could be published on some mobile platform (since drag controls are best on mobiles). Nice!

P.S. Got 9935 points!

Chicken Luck by tiptoe 2020-05-09T09:43:55Z

This game is quite interesting with its call mechanic, but I think further development of it would make it much better. I love the looks of the characters, very nice. Got 18 points.

Shooty Moony by flyingbear 2020-05-09T11:28:50Z

Someone here said it is the most intensive pool game. Wrong! It is addicting incremental game, in which you play until you win. In this game you not defending Earth, but rather earn as much cash as you can, and with each run you earn more. And this hooks you until you earn enough to become a king of this game. But there are some flaws that push this game back. Firstly, the beginning with its slow reloading. It is really a thing that makes this game dull from the start, until you get 3rd reload level or so. Secondly, I'd like to have more control of my extra shots. That will give me some options - shoot many, or shoot big guys - which is a good thing. But the design (especially enemy design which tells you how much damage they've taken) is fun, I enjoyed playing this game.

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-04-21T18:16:35Z

Nice little shooter. If the gmome sounds were 8 bit, this game would wholly recapture the spirit of 8 bit era.

Oak Defenders by Hugimugi7 2020-04-28T18:55:21Z

Amazing lookingh game, engaging gameplay, really cool. Great job!

Keep the Beet Alive by Tad 2020-04-21T05:29:29Z

Fun little rythm game with very nice visuals. It becomes super easy when you get a beat. I think mashing space to melody will bring more fun to this game.

Fussy Kitty by cjgammon 2020-04-21T10:05:24Z

It is nice to see a game for Arduino based system on this jam. This monochrome graphics are nice. Though half of the options (Teach, Ignore etc.) seems useless. I just mashed Feed, Play and sometimes Pet and Nap untill my cat died of old age. More conditions to utilize unused could make this game more interesting IMO. Nice cute game overall.

Toilet Paper Gardener by MaiMai 2020-05-11T10:49:53Z

Nice inceremental game - played it till I met the world demand. I think that upgrades should be automatically placed in the room since there no room management other than getting enough slots. And yes, transition to computer could be faster since you get there quite often - especially to by weed. Or it should be in some menu. Good job!

Silly Fluffy Bunny by Jiri Hysek 2020-04-20T20:14:48Z

Cute game with cute graphics and cute audio. However some polish. Sometimes you get stuck in grass, sometimes bunny could run away forever and you have to restart. Otherwise - a solid entry!

Soaring by Talops 2020-04-30T17:19:39Z

@blushine just got all the words from my mouth: same thoughts about this game

Fire Logs by juako 2020-05-03T12:40:00Z

This jump mechanics is fun and fluid, graphics are good, level design is interesting. But I think it started jumping over spikes thing to hardly - before these levels I never jumped over the spikes, but then that's all I do, and it is really punishing for new players. Nevertheless, it's cool game.

Commodore Commander by Alex_ADEdge 2020-04-23T12:52:59Z

I really like your idea. I encountered a UI bug: if you play this game on fullscreen HTML5 version, the focus window button is somwere lower.

The screensots is below.

Sisters' Lighthouse by imod 2020-05-10T22:17:42Z

A Cozy Night In by AkwardWhale 2020-05-12T12:07:53Z

Cool little tool. There should be an option to save my work on computer.

Perish alive by Lyrcaxis 2020-05-09T17:14:59Z

Good RTS game with nice visuals. Sure, there are some camera problems and no instant replay option is frustrating, but it could be fixed easily, making it a tutirial level for a nice RTS game

Father dies At The End by nahual 2020-05-11T21:06:04Z

Your post with Nagiev drew my attention.

I decided to try your game. It is really brutal, you should prepare yourself before you play it. It's all starts with menu, than its intro, futher you experience gameplay. This game is scary: I was pretty scared. I am not made for the work in ambulance... What basically I am trying to say is that your game have awesome atmosphere! You deserved 5 points for Mood!

Very simple game, with graphics, sound and camera that it deserves - cool.

I have only one tiny problem with defiblrillator, it wasn't obvious how to use it at my first playthrough. Maybe tutorial could help. Little section before first change where everything is shown to our hero could solve this, but who knows how it would turn the atmosphere of the game.

This game is the most atmospheric game of the event IMO, awesome job!

It is hard to figure out what to do. A tutorial is needed for this game

TOTALLY NORMAL GARDENING SIMULATOR by plufmot 2020-05-11T16:58:45Z

Interesting short game. Loved the sound :)

Tobias mustn't die by psydack 2020-04-28T20:24:10Z

Simple conceptual game for 30 seconds - no more, no less. Simple graphics, primitive(in a good way) gameplay. While tried to save the Tobias I paused game, opened itch.io source code, opened some programs on my computer. He died at 12th second.

VampySitter by MacDoom 2020-05-04T19:59:16Z

Nice spooky but fun mood. Amazingly animated vampire. Strange indirect movement mechanic.

Metamagotchi by onnofal 2020-04-23T13:09:54Z

Nice concept, *cute* cat. If you were able to finish it it would become more addictive. Try Jam next time instead of Compo, maybe the end result will be better :-)

Final Flower: Petals of a Lost Age by Scott Steffes 2020-04-29T14:40:50Z

Really cool. Interesting idea for a platformer, good art, good music. I have two little problems:

1) It feels that capsule can't break in some situations, but it breaks anyways. I understand that it is the core mechanic of the game - capsule breaks every time it touches anything - but it is hard to resist my common sense

2) The change in control schemes while with and without the capsule is too significant. You have to keep in mind these 2 states, and for someone that could be a game breaker, but for someone this is the challenge. For me it is just little to hard

There is also a bug in gameplay, which may lead to some cheese tactics.

Amazing game overall besides these 2.5 major problems.

tyle by jordantanner 2020-04-24T11:40:07Z

Nice and very addictive, quite like Tetris in these aspects. Right now music is just the background, but I think It would've been cool if the music helped the player, kinda like in rythm games: the beat tells you when to press.

Keep What Alive by Valeth2124 2020-05-09T16:04:07Z

Really like the mood of your game - a normal world which goes crazy. Pixel art is great here. Music is good. But it lacks some choices that someone would make. How am I supposed to stay at home to protect my family if I want to? As far as I understood - there is no way to do that. That leads to misunderstanding. More confusion is built up by saying something about my already murdered family. If you polish this triggers we will see strong story based game.

Amadiro by Dani Desa 2020-04-21T21:06:24Z

Addictive game with colorful graphics, simple core mechanics and pleasant audio design. Very well polished for a jam game. I think it could be published right away in Play Market in its current state.

Petra by vDovah 2020-05-11T15:26:00Z

This game while looking good and having an interesting feeling of the adventure in arabian temple (reminded me of TLOZ, 'cause its my favourite adventure game series, some kind of Fire Temple in Ocarina of Time), but there are some problems here.

To be honest, I didn't pass even the second room (though I know what to do there in second room) because of two major problems - the feedback and relaunch.

First with feedback: I think that there should be something more telling me what I have done. Statues should rotate, some sounds of rotation should be played (instead of just moving the symbols), flour should crack and player should fall down instead of simple relaunch. That will make me understand that I've done something, and in case of second room I would know that I've done something wrong.

Second, let's talk about relaunch after one error. It is too punishing for me, and maybe for many other players. All puzzles are reset, making it frustrating. No one whants to solve already solved puzzle for a third time. It could be fixed easily, like in TLOZ dungeons: all your progress made is saved after relaunch. In fact, this particular reason made me quit without completion of the second room.

I hope this and @gustavo-christino review will help you with further development of Petra. Good luck!

Orbital Mining by Larnin 2020-05-09T10:05:07Z

The graphics are cool. Soundtrack is pretty. This two components create awesome atmosphere. The mechanics looking good. The only thing I miss here is ship upgrades (to get it move faster, shoot further, carry more) for resource. But other than that - fun atmospheric experience.

Forest Guardian by JakobTheQuizGuy 2020-04-26T08:57:37Z

Amazing visuals, polished mechanics. Audio is *desperatly* needed for this game to give your hits more juice and to strengthen the atmosphere of the forest. Simple birds singning will give your gave so much more mood.

Mammoth Expedition by Abdurrahman Khallouf 2020-04-29T15:05:48Z

Really enjoyable game, good characters. Really interesting to see descision making game. Tho I managed to find the mammonth, but that is because game really don't count your firewood from day to day. If the firewood deficit was more important this mission would have been failed undr my control. But again - it is nice game.

Mammoth Expedition by Abdurrahman Khallouf 2020-04-30T07:34:29Z

@abdurrahman-khallouf Well, I meant that I haven't noticed the effect of getting to the next day without firewood. I thought my fireplace falls down for other reasons

Space Exodus by Kaish 2020-04-22T19:51:35Z

Enjoyable mix of explorative space simulator and blind man's buff. A really solid base big space adventure game in which you not only looking for resources, but encounter various perils of cosmos.

Feed me, please! by Lucidus 2020-04-24T07:53:34Z

Adorable visuals, nice music, funny character. Really easy to understand. It has its hooks.

SkyRoots Ultra by Giome 2020-05-11T14:20:31Z

Let's start with things I like: 1) Graphics looks nice. It has its nuances which I will explain later, but the overall look is good. 2) Music is very pretty. 3) I like how you increase difficulty with each jump.

Now let's look at things that requires some work to make it better: 1) Camera positioning. It is too low right now, and with it it is hard to tell if I landed properly. 2) You clip through anything that is not a leaf or orange shroom. That leads to disorientation of the player. 3) While looking good on gifs and screenshots, this bright lightning blinded me. Also, some leaves appear just in mid air. It looks strange. 4) All these small points 1-3 leads to total diseorientation in space when you try to correct your jump on the fly. 5) Dash mechanics (both horizontal and vertical) should be introduced more delicately. When I first had to use it I forgot that I can dash in this game, and without that no one could do this jump. And when I got to the point where vertical dash needed I had no idea what to do, because this jump also looked impossible. Also, vertical dash in combination with landing struggles stated in 4) will definitely be a quit point for someone. 6) I don't think that this time constraint is necessary here. Jumping itself is challenging enough here.

That's all I have to say about this game. Hope this will help make your game great!

Ant by Nakami 2020-04-23T11:25:13Z

Nice game with good atmosphere of desert, created by good visuals and embient sound. I really like the aspect that it give you more mechanics step by step. But I think the pits which I can jump over, and pits, which I can't should be distincted somehow - I can't plan my way ahead and I have to fail at the level at least once. Also sometimes I just can't see where to go in this graphics. But it is fun game overall.

The Last Humans by FumiKnight 2020-04-22T20:22:09Z

Enjoyable mix of explorative space simulator and blind man's buff. A really solid base big space adventure game in which you not only looking for resources, but encounter various perils of cosmos.

Cats In Flats by Black Flag 2020-04-29T14:06:55Z

The voice acting sets up the mood perfectly. Graphics is unfinished, but charming in its own way. As @nikkrope said some visual indication of bullet hitting a cat is needed. Also you can activate shop only at certain point of the room, which woild make someone think that it doesn't work. But good work.

P.S. Every time I quit I get memory access out of bound error

Out of bounds.png

The Core by NoobException 2020-04-23T10:45:55Z

What I liked in this game:

1) Art design is quite appealing

2) The music is atmospheric

3) Solid base for old school gameplay

What I think needs improvment:

1) Sprites are blurry on big screens, bigger resolution for sprites will improve the look of the game immensely.

2) Controls. It is hard to hit someone when you fly around. I managed to stay much longer when I just sayed still and shot at the direction where enemies were to appear. That is because you fly to fast and turn too slow.

3) Reason to explore the space around. Right now there is no reason to fly around. Sure, you will get more points and heal your core or make it invunerable for some time, but if you just stay, you will live longer, and thus, get higher score, as I staded above.

Summary: With little technical and gamedesign improvements that will become solid old school arcade.

platformEGG by Tricky_Fat_Cat 2020-04-21T07:09:45Z

Cool pixel art, amazing audio, smooth platforming. Awesome entry!

The Pacifist by AlexFSmirnov 2020-04-30T17:42:33Z

I wish there was more punishment for killing zombies besides getting less score (or at least, it should be mentioned that you get 3 times more score for unconscious zombie at the beginning). Because of that, I quite didn't get why should I have to keep zombies alive gameplaywise, because in the first room you will defenitily prefer your pistol, since it shoots and deals same damage as fists. Also gray envinronment disorients. Sometimes you look at the screen and can't distinguish floor from wall. And I also agree with @airwaffle: everyone is too beefy here (or attacks do too little damage). This really slowers the tempo of the game and progression: you destroy your enemies for too long.

Good Dog by QuadApe 2020-05-01T22:07:24Z

It is really good entry. I loved these juicy music and effects, and gameplay is really engaging. But I think difficulty jump on level 3 (level 2, if not counting a tutorial level) is too big for me. Sure, all the necessary mechanics were *properly* introduced, but I wasn't good enough in them by the time I got to the level 2. But this game is very solid.

P.S. Is this gameplay inspired by Spiderman, per chance?

Runaway by HackTrout 2020-04-20T21:54:55Z

Cool visulas make this game for me. However cover mechanic feels stiff. Otherwise - good game.

Office, Inc. - Keep your sanity alive! by TheAidency 2020-05-03T15:00:54Z

The idea itself is fun, but it has its problems with difficulty curve, as mentioned above. These noobs are stacking to many problems at once. You either ran out of resources, or you go to refill them, boosting the avalanche of problems. It doesn't feel like you failed because of your mismanagement, it feels like you failed because all these problems could not be solved in the first place. After some rebalancement it might become more skill based, which is good.

The Last Guardian by civmaniac 2020-05-11T15:04:46Z

Neat game with nice visuals. Reminded of mine experience in Diablo 2 with necromancer (not the druid, but that's mine association). It has its dominant strategy, I think, that's why I thought of necomancer :). I think there should be more opportunities to play other styles than good old summoner. But other aspects are great.

The Last Guardian by civmaniac 2020-05-11T20:18:37Z

**For those who didn't played this game *please* don't read this comment. If you read this before you play this game it may ruin your experience. Go try the game first - it is with your attention**

@civmaniac Thanks for your response. I checked v. 1.1.1. to compare. The summoning is still imba, sure, but there is are some tools to fix that. First, in v 1.1.1 you can just tweak cacti seed spawn rate, just it is to be more rare, so you have not to make an army, but to make few allies that will help you. Right now the spawn rate is so high that there is no difference between spawning them and not spawning, if you use this strategy. Second, is nearest puddle placement. It is too close to the tree right now, you can run to tree and back with no time, in addition, you also see the condition of the tree and you react fast. Futhermore, clouds usually go near the tree and water it before they get to the puddle, doing two jobs simultaneously. If it was further there would be some options for decision making: go away to summon a cactus, risking with tree's "hp", or be closer to protect it, but do it without a cactus. I believe that will help balance your game.

Cthulhu: The Cult Must Not Die by LaserPanzerWal 2020-05-12T17:08:07Z

I love the setting of H. P. Lovecraft. It is good to see a diabloid in this setting. But some bugs and issues sure doesn't make a pleasant experience.

Firstly, the attacks feel unresponsive. It's like I pressed button, but sometimes happens nothing. It goes for regular and combo attacks.

Secondly, enemies die for too long and in animation that confuses me. I usually had one question: is he dead?

Finally, some collision bugs with corpses makes that I can't move for some time.

I loved the aesthetics, but it definitely requires lots of polish.

Mother Of Dragon by ceriseghost 2020-05-12T13:18:44Z

I like the artstyle of the game. It turns a bit slow at dragon level 3, but this is a solid game in other aspects

Insanitus by Saulo Rosart 2020-05-03T17:09:08Z

First of all, I say what I liked in this game int this big review. This game is cool looking, with this Persian-like music reminded me of Prince of Persia for some reason. It controls nice, not standartly, but still it is convenient. I also like the mood you've built up here, really cool.

Now let's take a look at some flaws. It works nice but it is SO unforgiving for non-hardcore-platform players. Character slips very often from the platform, and you could end at the beginning if you don't know where to fall. But there is no deny that initial build was even more frustrating with its tiny platforms and working bloodthirst mechanic. If you are targeting wide audience of players the level design should be redone IMHO. But if you target hardcore platformer fans than it is okay...

This was my opinion on the difficulty of your game before I reached the second floor. And when I reached it felt like a cakewalk after this section. There are certainly some problems with difficulty of this game, I think it should gradually increase, but here for you skill you will be rewarded with very primitive exploring segment.

Bloodthirst mechanic would make this game unique, but in Post Jam version it's lost. Without it this game lost connection with the theme IMHO. I certainly understand why it was opt out (read the first paragraph), but all unique elements are lost now. I think there should some ways to return this mechanic. For instance, bloodthirsty sword would poke you if it isthirsty to get at least some blood, but it makes platforms slippery and you need to feed to stop this. I know this suggest mechanic sounds weird, but this is first thought came into my mind.

I didn't get whether I won or not. When I've got 18 artifacts protagonist said something, and than it showed me a game over scree (Post Jam version). Mayby bloodthirsting affects the ending? IDK.

To sum up, this good looking and very atmospheric game with difficulty issues. I hope we will see new bloodthirst mechanic someday in the future.

Protect The Artifact by WillyPa 2020-05-11T19:54:53Z

Well, I like that you implemented some advanced techniques here: particles and achievement system. It is strange to see that a person created the achievements struggles with timer programming (picture in comment above: there are 296 secs, or 2 mins 96 secs). Good prototype, it would have become much more interesting, if there was more content: bonuses, different enemy types, levels maybe. That would make a candy from this game.

Simple, Don't Die by Thompson 2020-04-20T22:24:18Z

This puzzle platformer creatively use checpoints. The music is nice, and I surely feel like a slime sticking to the walls. Sometimes (like on level 3) it is hard to jump over the spikes. But it it is good game overall

Save the FOX! by Euforia Games 2020-04-29T18:38:53Z

What I liked:

1) The sprites are awesome

2) Music. Really relaxing

3) The atmosphere is cool

What needs to be fixed:

1) Controls. Jump controls in particular. Sometimes Mike doesn't jump from the edge of the platform and falls down. Thats why I had so many game overs on wave I. In addition, if you fall on Lisa you can't jump from her, you have to get from her by feet.

2) This glow effect is distracting. Light reflects from everything. Sure this create a good atmosphere, but it shouldn't be reflected by protaganist, for instance.

3) Some weird glitches. Like skyrocketting from bottom to the middle of th tree.

The Last Flower by Unimaginable_Code_Studios 2020-05-11T22:04:18Z

This is the most polished "early teens game" (game made by 11-13 years old) on the event. It has good story, okay level design, it works pretty well for that kind of game. The big problem here are platform colliders, in which you can stuck. Pro Tip: use "Platform Affector" on your platform to make "transparent" when you jump from below and solid on the top. Great job for your age.

Memes Never Die by James_7777 2020-04-20T19:46:49Z

Really good game, I like LD theme approach. The only thing I wish this game had is an indication whether the person knows your meme or not. I lost many hp trying to talk about my meme to someone who knows it.

Protect your king! by TureGrappa 2020-04-20T21:39:03Z

The core mechanics is really strange. Loosing HP is usually a punishment. Here you whant to lose hp, but not too much? I think that some way to destroy arrows is necessary to make this game better.

KEEP IT ALIVE by yy404 2020-04-28T16:33:44Z

As far as I understood, the corrosion is entirely random, and that leaves no place for some kind of strategy, and thus, the fun of descision making(where should I place the next mine). Sometimes you get trapped near the mine generator and you can't do anything - you have to sit there until you lose. It would have been much better if you could control the detonations of every single mine.

Keep Him Alive by Convg 2020-04-28T19:13:20Z

Nice flow, smooth controls. This knight looks like knob :D. I agree with @barret, hp bar would have been useful. Also this camera shake gives me impression of killing the BIG BOSS, not the standart enemy (even in PostLD version). Also, this simple following AI for the old man turns out to be really helpful - he just stays in safe place :)

@zoglu Thank you for your comment. It is inspiring for me to read this

Soulectron by Bredian 2020-04-20T18:39:26Z

@david-bohan Thank @shiroy for a good art. I am glad you liked my game. Though I don't think pushes are brutal. They do bring some challange to the game in my opinion

Soulectron by Bredian 2020-04-20T21:45:09Z

Hey, @thompson, that was my first game with transitions, so I think that it is okay to use brackeys solution. I think they look really cool in this game!

Soulectron by Bredian 2020-04-21T15:00:46Z

@valisse21 Thank you for your review! You don't have to collect anything, you just need to get through four levels to win this game, as it is said in the monologue at the start.

Soulectron by Bredian 2020-04-29T07:32:47Z

@convg Thanks for review and an inspiration for a level song title! I published the soundtrack of Soulectron on the game's Gamejolt page, and the music that plays on levels is titled as cited dialogue line.

Soulectron by Bredian 2020-04-30T21:02:35Z

@talops Thanks for your technical advice about colliders. Never thought about these nuances before. Hope that will help me with my future games.

Bullets & Babies by David Bohan 2020-04-21T10:34:07Z

Nice graphics and sound, fun overall, but I find AK-47 bonus usless. Since enemies die from one hit, and there are not so many of them I don't think that increased fire rate will do much, in this game you rely on your positioning and aim, not the fire rate of your gun. Other than that - good entry.

A tale of Rebirthism by Pomo 2020-04-20T19:36:30Z

Very solid game which starts simple and gets harder and harder step by step, I like that kind of games. Good music and nice visual certanly set up the mood, and dialogues add some humor. Overall - great game!

Prime Number Defender by Tobias Bodewig 2020-04-25T14:49:00Z

It is really funny to see how these policemen trip over the vacuum cleaner robot. Policemen AI is weird, and they often just walk into the corner, and these stuck policemen poses no threat. This action bar to control the robot felt more like an uneccesary restriction: at the beginning you don't need to do much, closer to the end you can't do much, and it makes controls feel unresponsive. I do like that if all IoT centers are destroyed there is no way you can control a vacuum cleaner though. Really interesting entry overall

Prometheus by Nathan Dimmer 2020-05-12T10:32:47Z

Interesting little platformer. I understand that it is based on Greek legend, but this whole dark theme, bonfires as checkpoints and carrying a flame reminded me of Dark Souls, which is nice touch.

Earth Last Defender by Linx 2020-04-20T20:54:14Z

Solid asteroid-like shooter, love this peiu soud

Plox by GammaFlight 2020-04-25T12:13:17Z

Nice lovely concept. I liked this minimalistic style. The music made me think that this game is more dynamic than it is - very nice design. This may become a tutorial for a bigger game. The thing that is needed is some block removal limitations: when removal section started I was able to break the black blocs and explore the underneath of the game forever untill I reset it.

Firekeeper by Minrato2 2020-05-12T08:54:09Z

I really loved the explorative part. The music is nice and soothing. Nice entry

Keep Us Alive by Aroma 2020-04-21T11:21:21Z

A weird game. I can't multitask good enough for this game

Planto by Btmodz 2020-05-03T15:18:59Z

It is not bad for a second game. But I think that this eating mechanic requires more development to it to be more fun. Different animals could refill hunger bar differently (maybe they are, but I don't feel any difference right now), they could react differently on the plant (try to run away, or get closer, they could attack somehow). The goals are unclear. Am I supposed to just keep the plant alive as long as possible? Then I need some precise feedback on how good I was (score or timer), to know whether I've become better or not (best with high score). The jump mechanics feels a bit clunky. But pixel art and audio is great!

Don't Mind Me! by Paul Merkamp 2020-04-24T20:55:15Z

Impressive for the first finished game. Tho with some little improvements this game would become better. I'd like to see some visual indication of how much hp left on my character. It was implemented on boxes, stones and brain, why don't use it on the protagonist? Some checkpoints would also be useful. I get why there is no checkpoints here (makes it kinda like TLOZ dungeon), but without them someone could just drop the game. I would also like to see some vertical and/or diagonal shooting. But even in current state this is solid entry.

Keep It Charged by LaZZyDev72 2020-05-12T10:42:40Z

Fine short puzzle game, liked the memes all around. Nice gameplay. Really liked it.

Floccy Land by MikyDev 2020-05-11T11:03:48Z

Sure this game requires some polish. Jumping is really wacky, and combined with weird colliders makes it feels weird. In addition, I have no idea where I can go, or where I can't go. The goal is unclear here. I won if I got dropped to the menu? Sometimes I can get inside a platform, walk there and than fall. That sort of things should be redone to make this game working. Better luck next time!

An Afternoon Adventure by nicolasmaclean 2020-04-28T18:35:44Z

Really liked that art style, and that made me think - why platforms are not hand drawn? This game has really weird collisons on a big guy. Because of that I could not explore the whole level. This might become a good stylized platformer.

Keep IT Alive by bollwerk 2020-04-20T20:32:34Z

A very interesting look at Sys-Admin job. Nice visuals, but blue screened computer is really too annoying.

An interesting concept for a new TD genre fame

Train by bigassopper 2020-05-04T10:31:26Z

That was weird experience. I played HTML5 version. Before the first tunnel it worked okay, but in the tunnel... It suggested endlessly to go and fix some furniture, but wagon with furniture was empty. In addition, I could just get there without a hammer and still succeed. And that repeated over and over, sometimes with glitchy dialogue about first tunnel, sometimes coming out from the tunnel in a brief second. I could do this endlessly. I'm not sure whether I played a broken game, or some creepypasta material. And even as creepypasta it doesn't get further than this first tunnel, that's why I am not sure.

Seems like I played different game from the others in comments

P.S. Windows link leads to html5 page, fix pls, I want to try win version to see whether I was incorrect with my feedback

P.P.S. Lamp is useless.

Meteorite by Rohit Pardhi 2020-05-12T08:35:10Z

This is an interesting concept. But this trial is not informative: 1) there were so many times that I shot metoteorite in other direction, because I saw the trial, but I didn't see how it will move on a trial. There would be some arrows to indicate that. 2) The trial doesn't show where I get: the dot of the trial could be inside the plaque, but I flyt over it. Fixing that will make this game superb

Spoon by Cadstor 2020-04-25T19:37:44Z

It is all right. Obstacle generator require some fix, because sometimes it makes obstacles right under your feet and there is very small room for reaction. Also this mom attack looks really brutal.

Catch The Mouse keep it alive by GameOverMexico 2020-05-11T15:53:05Z

A Cat Mario game, but it is more consistent in its rules and infinite runner. For that of game it is good, but this type of game is not for everyone

Teeter (HTML) by murpyh 2020-04-21T10:19:44Z

If player had control over the cup this game would have become more satisfying IMHO.

Prime Rush by hlo-world 2020-05-09T13:27:25Z

Played this game solo, I understood the button mechanics only at third playthrough. Played it like regular tetris game, and the tetris part is okay. I think that button part here doesn't do anything for gameplay.

Sourdough Starter Kit by Edearth 2020-04-20T18:07:03Z

It is really simple game. I think goals of this game are ucertain. Also physics works really strange. Balls are getting out from beneath the jar. The art style is cool.

Paradigm by nspevacek 2020-04-30T08:01:05Z

This game has stunning visuals. Controls feel smooth, the ability to go to opposite side is a neat option. I liked the pace of the game. Piano soundrack in C minor is okay. But there are some problems. The first problem is connected to the isometric perspective - as it is sometimes hard to understand if this or that asteroid is closer to you and how close it is. The second problem is bonuses: they last for too short to be useful. Well, in first 7 rounds at least. In addition, I haven't figured out what orange bonus does. It seems to me it does nothing IMHO. The third problem is that you can't replay the game from the main menu - you instantly die after instructions screen if you click play for a second time. You have to reload browser's page.
