Mine died every time :(
Same here. Maybe statuses are switching too fast? Also some feedback on action would be appreciated.
Loved the UI and art! One thing I would suggest is to add the buttons inside the game somewhere and add some kind of feedback on button press.
So repetitive ... I think you could change your mecanic with some display (progress bar or whatever) and let the player to look up those bar and react to keep the cat alive . it's a simple supposition
Also, good job, it reminds me my young age :smile_cat:
Every game need some dead inside, i love it :D
Very nice game! The little guy needs something all the time, which can be tricky at the beginning. It could be nice if it had a sound effect whenever the kitty asks for something, a sound for each thing. I really enjoyed!
Very cool! It might be a little too fast. Vaccinate didn't seem to do anything and sick seemed like a death sentence.
I love this game from the artistic point of view, the art is simple and effective. It lacks of visual feedback tho.
i love the simplistic art (really :D), the game in overall is ok, a tutorial to let the player know how things work around would very useful
Really good, the graphics remind me Undertale!
Nice graphics, would have loved some sounds. The issues would build up and youd have to scramble around and it would be hard to tell what all needed to be taken care of. It also seemed like joke/talk and some others had no use. Maybe I didnt get far enough. Nice job!!
Lovely graphics. Once the cat was sick I couldn't vaccinate him
@rhiz @nachodlv @attx yeah getting sick and vaccinate doesn't really have any correlation. i know it's not super clear. but getting sick just means he has a need that isn't getting met to an high level and if it isn't met soon he will die, so you have to do something else, like feed or play with it. thanks for checking it out and for the feedback.
It is nice to see a game for Arduino based system on this jam. This monochrome graphics are nice. Though half of the options (Teach, Ignore etc.) seems useless. I just mashed Feed, Play and sometimes Pet and Nap untill my cat died of old age. More conditions to utilize unused could make this game more interesting IMO. Nice cute game overall.
I'm afraid to play this because my browser seems to stretch and adjust the screen while playing this all the time. I have been heard about Arduino, but have no idea whether there is any connection to that programmer-platform with this. These graphics are fine, i don't really know about this "pet-simulator" you have there. This concept have the similar idea of the "game boy" and for some its retro-games. You should be creative and make the game which is unique. If you do so, remember this: as the Nintendo is, its a huge success just because of its unique games
Well, the idea of trying to keep this pet alive is ok, but It would be better if it would be any manual, animations for buttons and pet and other little things. But Tamagochi is stil fun to play with)
Some feedback on button presses would be nice, I kept pressing the wrong round button at first before I figured out the other one is what made things happen. Also wasn't always sure what to do, or if what I did had an effect. It was pretty brave to make an Arduboy game for LD though, so that's really cool. Seems like a challenge!
Nice game. my impression is that usually the behavior that has highest priority is Hunger, most of the time if you feed it should be fine. But on think I missed was either some sort of bar/feedback showing either some level of emotion or something like if the button is really getting pressed. A few times I just did a round of pressing one button and move to the other, and everything went fine, but I don't know if they had any reaction or not. For example: if I feed the pet 10x in a row I'm not sure if he is going to be full or even, if he is going to get sick because I gave too much food. Anyway, just some ideas, overall is was very fun to play the game.
Nice game. The kitty was super cute for such minimal graphics. The game was nice, I missed music or sound effects but reminded me a lot of my tamogatchi 15 years ago haha. good work.
i really liked the simple and consistent graphics, and it's really cool that you made this for an arduino! that's perfect for this kind of game. my kitty was definitely fussy, it seemed like the statuses changed every few seconds and stacked up. so i panicked and start mashing -> a -> a -> a -> a -> a -> a and it seemed to annoy it a little bit ha. it was fun for a bit, and definitely reminded me of a tamogatchi
