Not really expanded, nor addictive. I would prefer to control the knight with the mouse.

Quite a fun game, could do with background music

This is my first one too and we had very similar games haha!

Congrats on finishing! Your sprites are quite good, the noise when you block is satisfying. Also, your demo screen looks well made on this page.

I did not expect to lose the game when I went off screen to grab the food! A little feedback on when the King is going to move would also be nice.

Good job overall though!

You know, I watched a video lately discussing how or what could possible be defined as a "second person game" and this reminded me of it. I must say you did a great job at making a game with a "You" perspective here but I also have to say somethings are need of improvement. Namely the lack of sound made it hard to feel engaged with the game and the sudden appearance of arrows without audio nor visual warning felt unfair.

I have seen like 3 times this same game all around, it is a nice game to be honest, like literally you did it nice, however I would have liked a different kind of movement

it's a good base for a game, I would try to improve a bit the gameplay tho, don't stop with this ludum dare, it's a good start :)

The core mechanics is really strange. Loosing HP is usually a punishment. Here you whant to lose hp, but not too much? I think that some way to destroy arrows is necessary to make this game better.

Interesting concept. You are the chief arrow catcher for your king... like it. I found moving around to be a bit clunky, but not too bad. It is a game jam game, and polish is not in the time budget. I really enjoyed the look of the game. Everything fit together. Excellent effort.

Did you make the graphics yourself? If not you should opt out of the graphics category. A simple but nice game.

Takes the theme to its logical conclusion. I wish there was more interactivity though. More types of projectiles, more actions I could take, wider range of kingly behaviors. Either that, or something to add a sense of progress. Tight now it feels a little monotonous. For you first jam, it's a solid entry though. Hope to see you in the next one!

Thought the idea was quite cool & simple, and it's a good one for a first game jam! Congrats on doing it :). Some ideas I had to make it better were to make the speed of the king slower, so that you can easily keep up when he moves, add some graphics in the middle, add some storytelling (I was wandering why I am here, and thought it would be a cool story), and some sounds would be great too with some animations, and can also have some sort of levels, it would be fun to have heaps of arrows coming haha.
