Hello, fellow space defender! (=

Super fun concept. It went from feeling like I was playing a standard arcade game to the most intense game of pool ever. Bouncing enemies off each other is extremely satisfying.. though I definitely had my planet die more than once waiting to line up the perfect shot of coins and enemies.

^) One of the best I played in this jam! In start very difficult, but when you understand how make 3x, it's become super cool. Thank you!

Oh my god this game is awesome! I'm loving the 3x mechanic, because it rewards the player for shooting strategically! The enemy variety is good and the big purple ship is interesting with it's spawning thingy. The "win" is kind of underwhelming though :/ Anyways this is a very addicting game and I like it!

hell yeah there's a nice little shop

Overall a very simple and fun little game. For me the game started way too slow, and took too long before it got fast enough. But the graphics is good, and sounds is also pretty good. I would have liked some music, and perhaps a real ending to the game. Overall is this a good jam game. Well done.

Really nice game! :)

Now that's an impressive game. Especially for a one person made game. ^^ I really like your take on the theme and the concept of the game. It reminded me a bit the pool games (like those where you have to push bombs with a pool ball before it explodes) I played in flash back in the day, I always loved those kind of games.

Graphics are nice, the main char is kinda cute with his big angry eyes. I love the Earth's design. Even satellite are well made. The different enemies are well distinguishable and their variations are on point to see what's around us by quick glance. Feedback is also great.

As for the gameplay itself, it's well polished. It responds really well, no bug, no problem anywhere.

The game is really fun, easily one of my favorite for this LD. If you make a v2, you should definitely upload it to NewGrounds or Itch Io, etc..

Anyway, great job! o/

This game is amazing. Maybe at the beggining is a bit slow but when you start buying upgrades it become funnier. Great job, I love this game!

phantomeniasll 2020-05-08 14:11

Very nice and addicting game. The upgrades really increase the play time without making it feel slow whilst giving a great difficulty curve

Probably my favorite game I've played so far in the jam. The design choices are really smart, such as the cannon not only serving as shooting enemies, but also collecting coins and propelling yourself. Writing this reminds me of how Marc Brown talked about Downwell's dual purpose design and speaking of that game, I think this game is perfect for mobile as well!

Here's my small nitpicks:

* Game takes off a little slow in the beginning because it takes too long to reload. * The win is abrupt, and I would instead switch it out for a device that calls a super powerful UFO towards the planet that you have to face off to win. (Although one big thing to fight isn't really where the fun of the game comes from so I would have more things to shoot other than it) * The shop is pretty bland. (though I like how that is for some reason but I don't think most people will) * I would want to see how much I upgrade a certain thing on the shop.

Overall, it's an awesome game.

I played this way too long, very fun game

mister-collette 2020-05-09 05:28

Good layering of mechanics. Appreciate the completeness. So fun I literally spent 1.5h playing it ♥

dxk2294 2020-05-09 09:26

A very slow start, but shockingly addictive. I was a bit confused at first, as you can only spend money once you lose. I enjoyed how placement was encouraged via the 3x multiplier. I think this is the most time I've spent in an LDjam game! Great job

Impressive development of a rather simple idea! Very addictive and adding upgrades made gameplay much deeper that it seemed before. The only thing I was missing is relaod indicator. Great job!

louiejams 2020-05-09 10:36

Simple and fun game, really like the artstyle you've gone for! Kee4p me playing longer than most due to the rogue like feature of spending after you've died for a better run next time. Great solo entry!

nonsans 2020-05-09 11:03

That was simply awesome. Easily the best game I have played in this Jam so far. I half expected the game to end after I first died. But then the upgrade window opened up and oh boy, was it a blast. The shooting and coin collecting were super satisfying and the progress was almost perfectly planned out. It's impressive that you not only could make such satisfying gameplay but also balance the progression to that degree. No upgrade felt overpriced and even the simple upgrades like double shots changed the game in an meaningful way. I also was impressed that over half an hour in I would still see new enemies. The design of the earth, moon and UFOs was just brilliant and added a lot of character to the game. The little nuances in the gameplay, like the moon changing directions or speeding up shortly when shooting and the money multiplication really helped to liven up the game and are just very fun things to play around with. I don't just wanna sing your praises here, but I'm hard pressed to find something worthwhile to critique. Maybe another soundtrack that could play in higher waves? Maybe a little improvement in the shop UI? Other than that I just want more of the game, more upgrades more everything so I can play more and a save function so I can continue where I left off. Thank you for making this awesome entry!

Someone here said it is the most intensive pool game. Wrong! It is addicting incremental game, in which you play until you win. In this game you not defending Earth, but rather earn as much cash as you can, and with each run you earn more. And this hooks you until you earn enough to become a king of this game. But there are some flaws that push this game back. Firstly, the beginning with its slow reloading. It is really a thing that makes this game dull from the start, until you get 3rd reload level or so. Secondly, I'd like to have more control of my extra shots. That will give me some options - shoot many, or shoot big guys - which is a good thing. But the design (especially enemy design which tells you how much damage they've taken) is fun, I enjoyed playing this game.

igor-kingamer 2020-05-09 21:26

The idea is interesting, but progress was way too slow.

The 3x mechanics don't fit the game very well: you have to wait for new enemies to come from the right direction and get close enough, and hope you're in the right place when that happens. I mostly got it by chance. Spawning more valuable coins when hitting multiple enemies with one shot would fit better for example.

The graphics are nice. I would really like to play it with some tweaks.

space-man 2020-05-11 22:57

Great game, it's fun trying to set up good shots that get multiple enemies and knock them into coins. The beginning levels are a bit too slow though, especially since you have to replay them each time as you get enough money to buy the upgrades. The overall gameplay is great though once you get a few levels in with some upgrades, well done!

eduardo-yukio 2020-05-12 06:18

I spent a lot more time on this game than I imagined haha!

The gameplay loop of going into combat as long as I can take it, earning money, and then spending it, is quite fun and is a great way to keep engagement: I spent 1 hour playing!

The mechanic of the player spinning around the Earth is very interesting, because you cannot simply click endlessly in the direction of enemies, you have to care about the angle that you are going to shoot in order to not to hit the Earth. At the end of the game I was shooting to reposition myself as much as to attack enemies and that is brilliant! The narrative of you being the Moon fits this very well too, you nailed it.

I think the only thing I didn't like was that my shots hurt the Earth. It was inconsistent with the fact that the balls that bounce off enemies don't damage the Earth and when I lost because I accidentaly hit it, it got me extremely frustrated. Perhaps if the shots were simply absorbed by the Earth it would be less frustrating and would still achieve the goal of it serving as a barrier.

I liked the variety of enemies, behaviors and items. Everything is very well balanced!

I really liked the fact that it was a game with a small scope and simple, yet functional, interface and graphics. This is exactly the type of game I want to make. I will bookmark it and will definitely revisit it to seek inspiration on my next jams!

Incredible game. Please do go on to make an enhanced version of this, it combines my favourite elements from idle games and 2D shooters.
