Very nice use of theme!

Very nice use of theme!
I really liked this! I got to the last level but I didn't finish it. The music was great, the gameplay was addicting (just one more level!) I'll be ranking this one high on fun, that's for sure.
The weakest point is probably the graphics, the stylistic clash between different sprites detracts from the aesthetics of the game. Another small thing I would suggest would be to add a little "coyote time" for jumping off ledges. If you aren't familiar with the concept, it's basically just allowing the player jump for a few frames after walking off a ledge. A margin of error in case the player presses jump a fraction of a second too late. Most platformers do it, but the effect is subtle. It's more noticeable when it's not there, because it usually feels like unresponsive controls to the player. That's just a tip for next time, what you have here already is solid and definitely one of my favorites in the jam so far!
One of my favorite games in the jam so far. Excellent work comrade!
@majorleegay I forgot to make it public 🤦 It should work now!
@goblinkingmatt Thanks so much for the feedback! For the music I used an open source DAW called LMMS for the first time. It's like a slightly janky FLStudio with the benefit of being 100% free, also comes with an enormous number of plugins, samples, and presets! I'm going to write a longer post talking about my tools later.
@abhilash Thank you!
@savvu Thanks so much for the feedback!
@fictions Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed!
@lintfordpickle Guilty on all counts! I didn't push too hard for this jam, I'm just here for a good time! I was too lazy to implement a proper movement system with momentum and inertia and all that. The flying up through platforms was sort of intentional. I know it caused some unusual behavior, and I could have easily fixed it, but I decided to go with it. I wanted to implement a directional marker for the flower but again, lazy + time constraints. As for the last point, I thought the flower icon at the top would be enough of an indicator but I can see how it could be confusing. Thanks for your detailed feedback, I like hearing about ways to improve my designs!
@lintfordpickle Oh yeah and the goal is to simply keep yourself and the flower alive as long as possible. I think it might be impossible to get all the pollen AND keep the flower alive long enough to do so, but I didn't test that thoroughly.
@fax Thank you!
@defectivemelon Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the style!
@leekanarchism Thank you! I appreciate that you noticed the forced exploration effect that comes from pollen not respawning. It serves two design purposes: 1) it's a natural way to ramp up difficulty, and 2) it helps limit the length of the game without adding a hard time limit
I played this way too long, very fun game
Excellent audio and graphics. Great entry!
This is good! The only issue I had was that the game kept going after the robot died, so I could have run around indefinitely with all the enemies chasing, but that's not a big deal. Good work!
Very cool! I kept playing for a while, I enjoyed it. I just wish there were checkpoints, I got pretty far my second run!
It's interesting, it's difficult, I like it. I do agree with the previous commenter who said the piston cooldown should be shorter, as is it feels unresponsive.
Reminds me sort of the game Everything (in a good way!)
The graphics were excellent. I did have trouble finding the lover even after multiple resets.
That was really fun! Great work!
Very relaxing, nice game. My one suggestion would be to change the controls to 4 buttons in a row. 1 2 3 4 maybe. The arrow keys were a bit awkward for combos. Overall I like the game, great job!
Welcome to jamming, this is a great first game, good job!
I like the idea, and it looks nice. I would like if there was a bit more of it but hey, 72 hours isn't very long to make a full fledged game. This is a nice entry as it is!
I like the style! The wobble movement is unique. It might be helpful if there was a UI indicator for the chains...then again, it could clash with the minimalism. Maybe some music would be nice, too? I gave you high marks for graphics, mood, and innovation, good work!
Neat little survival game, looks very nice!
Neat little puzzle game, I like it
Very spooky! I couldn't finish it, too freaky! 5/5 mood!
I used to make games like this when I was your age, this is cool! Keep at it! I stopped for years and almost had to start from scratch. You have a future in games if you pursue it :)
Unique concept, great graphics and audio. I enjoyed this, good job!
The .exe comes up with a "UnityPlayer.dll was not found" error upon opening, so I could not play.
This is good! The battle system is really unique! I could see this game being expanded on. Great work!
Looks good, and interesting concept. I couldn't figure out how to stop the hero though.
This game is great in all categories. I like the music a lot. The controls seemed a little slow to respond at times but otherwise it's fun and appealing.
Our games are pretty similar so of course I think this is a good idea that matches the theme. The graphics are nice, the music was simple but it fit. I'm not sure the climbing mechanism works the way it was intended. In fact it seems like the ladder isn't climbable, the only way to get to the top platforms seems to be to jump and collide with the bottom of the platforms.
This was a really cool puzzle! I played it to the end, it was very satisfying to figure out the solution. This could probably make a nice mobile game with more levels and more time to polish. I'd play it!
Scary! The music really added to the experience. Someone show this to Stephen King and he'll start making interactive fiction. Very well done.
