thanks @kitjenson, much better now :)

You can edit the actual description above as well. There is an edit button in the bottom right corner of that container.

Getting a 404 error.

kent-reese 2020-04-21 16:28

It says on your itch page that you haven't posted anything yet, perhaps you got the wrong link / your game might be in draft form? Make sure that your Visibility & Access part of your itch page settings looks like this: directions.png

sndsgood 2020-04-21 17:32

Just to reiterate what others have said - cannot find your page!

fire-phantom7 2020-04-21 17:52

@sami @kent-reese @sndsgood I fixed the page, its public now. Whoops...

bramreth 2020-04-21 18:41

very nice! straightforward and understandable, the pixel art is well done to boot. Would like to see a version with sfx and one minor gripe was the sticks could be difficult to put in the fire. All in all well done!

billehbawb 2020-04-21 19:23

Does it really need a setup installer?

melomel 2020-04-21 19:34

Pretty cool...get it? Cool? Anyways, I couldn't move after talking to the radio, but I won anyways. I guess I had thrown enough sticks on the fire by then.

giordas 2020-04-21 19:45

The controls were a bit wierd as the sticks stay a bit in the front but I enjoyed it.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-21 20:16

@giordas yeah, I didn't really know how to animate holding the stick without making entirely new animations for it...

fire-phantom7 2020-04-21 20:17

@billehbawb idk, I just looked up how to export a unity game and followed the Brackeys tutorial.

thedestoryer 2020-04-21 23:23

The graphics and animation are nice, but holding the sticks isn't good at all, if you want to keep the stick away from the player, you should probably keep it away in the same direction even when you aren't moving so it is more consistent.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-22 00:13

@TheDestoryer Glad you liked the art! I'll keep what you said in mind for future games. Now that I think about it, I wish I had just made a hot bar system, then you could also carry multiple items at once.

beats 2020-04-22 01:05

this is a cool game, i would to like have the fire die quicker because i hoarded all my sticks and the fire was stick going strong, but nicely fits with the theme.

curtamyth 2020-04-22 07:06

Welcome to jamming, this is a great first game, good job!

misterjbro 2020-04-22 07:14

Nice little game! But got stuck at the end while talking to the radio. Also, at the beginning i noticed that i could not continue the radio dialog with my keyboard and had to use the mouse. But on the second radio dialog it was possible. But that's only i little comfort bug.

slimbun 2020-04-22 07:22

This is a cool game. There are a few major annoying bugs.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-22 14:36

@misterjbro I just wanted dialogue in the game, and using a button seemed easier than programming a text box, but now that I think about it, I could have very easily made 'e' a dialogue button as well. Thanks for the feedback!

fire-phantom7 2020-04-22 14:48

@curtamyth I just checked out your game (and rated it), really good job yourself!

baconinvader 2020-04-22 16:46

Nice simple little game, very intuitive. I think having more obstacles or the ability to carry multiple sticks at once would have made in more interesting though.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-22 19:31

@baconinvader Thanks for the feedback! In hindsight, making a simple inventory system wood have been nicer (haha, get it).

edvard-sandquist 2020-04-23 01:05

Cool game dude! I think you need to look into the stick when the player is holding it. It kinda bounces of the player and it's pretty hard to interact with. But really nice work anyway!

ectucker1 2020-04-23 01:14

Love the idea for this game! Controls felt a bit wonky, and it was kind of hard to tell when I have successfully put a stick in the fire (audio feedback is always good for this). Good job for a first entry!

kent-reese 2020-04-23 01:20

The sire hitbox is a bit odd, but I managed to survive, a neat little game!

proforce 2020-04-23 01:24

Besides the movement of the logs, it was a great game! Love the simplistic pixel art style!

nicksmaddog 2020-04-23 01:26

I might be super dumb, but I couldn't figure out how to get the sticks on the fire correctly. They would always seem to be placed next to the fire, but didn't seem to make the flames bigger. I really enjoyed the art style though! I would be nice to have music and sound effects too.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-23 02:28

@nicksmaddog I guess I didn't make it clear, but you have to press e, while holding a stick and next to the fire, in order to have it used. I really wanted to add sound but I was running a little late so I scrapped it :(

fire-phantom7 2020-04-23 02:30

@edvard-sandquist when the stick is sort of levitating around you, that's when you're "holding" the stick. Sorry if that was confusing, but thanks for the feedback!

mirck782 2020-04-23 06:09

The graphics remind me particularly of SkiFree haha, fun game despite some wonky hitboxes

izokia 2020-04-23 08:08

Very simplistic and fun game. I personally don't like the way you have to put the sticks in the fire. It makes it kinda hard. I do like the pixel art and gameplay allowed for some quick fun.

dextreon 2020-04-23 08:46

Was fun! Despite of the already found bugs it was cool, the sticks on the fire was a bit hard though, but overall a good work! Congrats!

fire-phantom7 2020-04-23 15:09

@mirck782 @izokia @dextreon glad you all liked it, and thanks for the wonderful feedback!

ivan-garcia-filho 2020-04-24 02:22

Cool entry! I got stuck many times, once i touched the radio and after trying to throw a stick over the fire pit!
