I had a lot of fun with this game! Jumping off of walls was a little weird and you can infinitely jump. The Music was great! I loved the 2d retro feel.
This game is HARD, but in a fun way! It's not easy to do that, nice work. It could use a soundtrack but I definitely prefer this game-play over any music.
yeah it says to use the arrow keys, but it freezes as soon as you press anything. :(
I tried to open the .exe (and yes I did have the data file with it), but it came up with an error saying it didn't have the ddl file
This was incredible. I loved the music, sound, character design, puzzles... My only complaint is that getting past some of the wind sections seemed too hard (I quit near the end of that).
I see a lot of people saying there is a lack of gameplay, but not very many giving suggestions. I think you could have different levels (y, so up and down, if that makes sense) where enemies came in, and you only had to mash a key if there was an enemy there, as well as getting punished when you shoot somewhere an enemy isn't. That way, the game also takes some brainpower and multitasking (instead of just mashing), and it would be way better.
as soon as i tried to run across the platforms, they fell in, so I didn't get to do anything :(
@gavin-camlin thank you for the clarification, I retried the game, and i realized in the other room that it was a maze thing. I ended up completing the three challenges :) is there a win state though? I collected all three orbs and talked to the guy again, but he had the same dialogue.
I am extremely jealous of you, and you should be proud, because this is incredible. The audio adds so much to the feel, and the parallax, especially on the water, was so cool.
thanks @kitjenson, much better now :)
@sami @kent-reese @sndsgood I fixed the page, its public now. Whoops...
@giordas yeah, I didn't really know how to animate holding the stick without making entirely new animations for it...
@billehbawb idk, I just looked up how to export a unity game and followed the Brackeys tutorial.
@TheDestoryer Glad you liked the art! I'll keep what you said in mind for future games. Now that I think about it, I wish I had just made a hot bar system, then you could also carry multiple items at once.
@misterjbro I just wanted dialogue in the game, and using a button seemed easier than programming a text box, but now that I think about it, I could have very easily made 'e' a dialogue button as well. Thanks for the feedback!
@curtamyth I just checked out your game (and rated it), really good job yourself!
@baconinvader Thanks for the feedback! In hindsight, making a simple inventory system wood have been nicer (haha, get it).
@nicksmaddog I guess I didn't make it clear, but you have to press e, while holding a stick and next to the fire, in order to have it used. I really wanted to add sound but I was running a little late so I scrapped it :(
@edvard-sandquist when the stick is sort of levitating around you, that's when you're "holding" the stick. Sorry if that was confusing, but thanks for the feedback!
@mirck782 @izokia @dextreon glad you all liked it, and thanks for the wonderful feedback!
that took a turn halfway through... and I loved it!
I think this was pretty cool overall. It could have been better if the inputs were constant instead of one at a time. You can hold them down, but it just doesn't feel very natural, especially with such a limited view. Still a cool game :)
yeah it took me a little while to figure out you have to heal him temporarily (about halfway through the search for medical supplies) with food, and then go out searching again. Before that, it seemed really stressful bc I couldn't for the life of me find all the healing things in time
I might just have a minuscule vocabulary, but I had no idea how to add onto the word after a couple rounds.
I had the same problem with the folder being empty. Please @ me if you fix it. This looks pretty fun
Definitely a rage game, whether intentionally or not. I was super happy when I saw there were checkpoints for the egg. I managed to get to the end of the purple strip, and saw there was a bunch of other stuff on the map. Not clear if I'm supposed to go there or not. A little more variation to the music would be cool, but at least you have music (unlike my game). Nice job!
The only thing I would want changed is the curser being a different color. It was oftentimes difficult to see my curser and where I was aiming.
I used the link and got an error message from itch. Make sure the page is public (its a checkbox at the bottom of your page when you click "edit game" at the top). can you @ me when you fix it? I would be honored to be the first one to play it. :)directions.PNG
Great graphics and audio, but the game wasn't very well balanced and I seemed to get stuck a lot just walking around because of small ledges.
I don't if this is a bug or not, but after the first level, the music was playing for a while (30s?) without anything on screen, so I though that was it. After reading the comments I realize something must be wrong, or I didn't wait long enough. The funniest part of this whole thing is the known bugs section of the description. You just seem so confused, but very seriously reporting them at the same time. top notch comedy.
where is the .exe file? It is not possible to play the game without it
just, wow
First off, very cool music and graphics. The idea is excellent but it needs work. I found different ways to exploit and glitch out the game. I linked a video of that here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8P9obEdUE4c I mean no disrespect, but I do want you to know that these exist.
That was a cooooool game! I loved the story element. My one small complaint is that I wanted the movement to be a little more snappy (so use Input.GetAxisRaw() instead of Input.GetAxis()). 5/5 overall!
Overall, I thought it was a cool bullet hell game. If you were going for that, I would actually make it harder by giving enemies more health. The controls didn't work right off the bat, and when you went to the second platform, if you were using a controller, the player character still rotated in the same direction. Because the wire thing led you to a new dimension (sideways relative to the first platform, really cool btw) the controls were suddenly wrong. For some reason it still worked with the keyboard and mouse though. Good game!
