as soon as i tried to run across the platforms, they fell in, so I didn't get to do anything :(

junagames 2020-04-22 01:01

Had some issues but like the idea

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:04

@fire-phantom7 Sadly the reset isn't working properly, the platforms were actually hanging to the side and you could walk across them. Sorry for the confusion

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:04

@junagames I'd love to hear the issue you had so I can improve it:)

Game froze on me twice on opening. Third time I was able to move around, but the camera is reaaaally not calibrated for the mouse. Was constantly having a hard time keeping it looking straight. Eventually I fell through the ground and fell forever, which was around when I finally started to gather what the core conceit is. Ah well.

technodragon253 2020-04-22 01:09

I really like the animation although when you start sprinting it kinda falls apart. Unfortunately the lack of music leaves something to be desired. I could not figure out what to do and then I fell in a pit. I wish I could play it more because I think this game has potential.

copito 2020-04-22 01:10

I wasn't sure what i was supposed to do, I followed 3 ghosts of myself (memories?) but nothing happened when doing so and they eventually disappeared, it didn't seem possible to progress, still the art style was cool and this was certainly ambitious

alex-horstman 2020-04-22 01:10

First off, love the idea of seeing the past all around you except for a small sphere of the "now". The area around you is a little too small, especially when the ground tiles aren't real in some places. Made it a little too easy to sprint right through hole in the ground. Also when falling through said holes I would just fall forever. Really good concept that I could see being a fun interactive story if you kept up development.

defectivemelon 2020-04-22 01:12

I like the art, especially the shader surrounding the character. I mostly had difficulties working with the camera though, on keyboard and mouse I needed to push it down constantly. Neat mechanic!

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:25

@ketura Oh no! I'm sorry that it froze a bunch that's weird, what are your computers specs if you don't mind me asking?

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:27

@technodragon253 Thank you! I wish I had more time to make the animations really fit the mood but only so much I could fit in sadly. Sorry about the not resting glitch! I just patched that now (new build up soon)! Really appreciate that you think it has potential :)

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:29

@copito Thank you! So the main goal was to collect these batteries of sorts that the memories of yourself would lead you to but I didn't have enough time to really explain that through the game play. Really appreciate the feedback tho!

gavin-camlin 2020-04-22 01:30

@alex-horstman Thank you! I definitely plan on polishing it up and being able to better tell the story that I envision for it. I totally agree as well, the holes in the floor are way to easy to fall into

sacredbacon 2020-04-22 01:38

The rigging for the run animation is really well done, would love to see a full version

xmatos 2020-04-22 02:44

Loved the look of the game. Unfortunately couldn't really play it, had a hard time dealing with the camera and kept falling through the infinite void.

fire-phantom7 2020-04-22 14:31

@gavin-camlin thank you for the clarification, I retried the game, and i realized in the other room that it was a maze thing. I ended up completing the three challenges :) is there a win state though? I collected all three orbs and talked to the guy again, but he had the same dialogue.

ketura 2020-04-22 19:59

@gavin-camlin Ryzen 1700X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, Radeon RX 580. Three monitors, main one the game ran on is 1440p.

The graphics are excellent, a lot was accomplished here for the jam. I think it has an eerie atmosphere for sure, it feels like the main character exists in a state outside of time or out of sync with the local time, and that's why things disappear around him. I think with a little more time this could be something really cool. Even just adding sound effects and ambient sounds would really elevate this a lot I think.

I did encounter a bug while playing which caused my character to get stuck in a wall. This was in the middle path, the one with the open courtyard with all the polygon guys (monks doing drills?). Once I collected the battery I ran into the wall behind it by accident and became stuck. This problem didn't occur in the other two batteries.

Overall, good job!

prepparedheathen 2020-04-22 20:31

I think this game could be really good with more time put into it. As it stands, the camera was very difficult to use with a mouse and having to manually exit the game after falling into a pit was too frustrating for me to continue. That being said, keep working on it. I'd love to see this again with some more polish.

ale 2020-04-23 01:04

That's an awesome effect, nice job! The cinematic camera looked really cool, especially when the target was running in the crowd (although he stood out like a sore thumb). Almost felt like an action movie.

Camera was hard to control with mouse and keyboard though. A lower sensitivity and maybe wider FOV might make it easier.

123seven3 2020-05-04 05:25

Two things that I have a problem with: Lighting and controls. I would like the ability to disable inverted y controls, and the lighting/textures made it difficult to tell where stuff was in the main hub room. It has some promise, but it could be better.

vanea 2020-05-04 05:26

The sight mechanic was super interesting; I'd love to see it implemented in a more finished game! I played on controller and found the controls perfect( I also use inverted y-axis on controller all the time though). the way the textures blend in with the geometry makes it difficult to see where to go sometimes. Overall, this was definitely a game that gave me those little "aha! thats how that works!" moments! Its a very promising concept.

igor-kingamer 2020-05-04 22:24

Very interesting and innovative idea. The camera was really hard to control though.
