Played several times and each time lost for some reason I did not understand. Do cars in front spawn when you look back? If so, then it is not very clear how to simultaneously shoot at the pursuers and avoid collisions. But the graphics and visual style made me linger in the game longer.

I like the graphics and the mechanics of the game. Really good idea. It's a little on the too difficult side, you don't have time enough to see the cars coming and dodge. Maybe if there was a ramp in difficulty (slower cars first and more visual identification to dodge) that would improve the difficulty. Great job, polished it's a great game!

I liked the visuals and the camera work when you switch lanes, though I wish camera would move faster when I want to look behind and aim. With its current speed its just a gamble not to stumble upon car in from when shooting.

I liked it, but oh damn are the sounds loud. Loud but good though. I also didn't understand if I was doing something wrong or not but dodging felt almost impossible, you have less than a second of reaction time it seems.

Nice Mood and use of effects. as the others already said, the game is missing some form of feedback. Maybe some kind of sound that a car is approaching? Other than that really polished game. Oh and i think the driver would benefit from a idle animation, just like his partner in the back.

Is there a win state? Can you drive a certain distance and end up "escaping with the jewels".

Great ambience, use of the theme and visuals! The gameplay (even if a bit limited) is super original! I actually loved the anxiety of not being able to see the road while firing. Congratulations!

I like how intense and hectic the game feels, but I wish the difficulty was lower so I could play it properly.

It's really hard to tell when a car is coming because of all the different lights on the road. This makes it a guessing game for which way to steer. It also makes me really reluctant to change to shooting mode since I don't know when I should be expecting a car to spawn in front of me.

Also, the description said I'll get to "blow the cops" chasing after me, but I was never offered that option

Graphics and controls were a lot of fun, audio was kind of loud and distracting. The visuals were kind of cluttered, but I do really like the game

Very hard to dodge the cars. They seem to come out of no where. Perhaps make them go a bit more slowly? I liked the dubstep and the way your friend flipped back and forth the ambulance was very funny.

Cool concept.

Feels nice. Was thinking it was just a driving game and dodging cars until I read the controls. Then realized there's more to do.

Looking back and blowing up cop cars makes it a lot more fun. Great game. I do wish the indication in the corner was a bit more obvious.

nice graphics and effects but i couldn't get far, the rain made it too hard to see the cars ahead and i would have no idea when it was safe to shoot, still neat, maybe add a bright light in front of oncoming cars?

I like that the limited resource is your attention, but the balance seems off. Maybe more time between seeing a car and hitting it? Maybe an indicator when you're close to something in front or behind?

Really pretty game, i liked the raindrops on the window! i found the car hard to control, and the vision distance a bit low, but with those tweaks, i think it could be great!

Nice visuals reminds me of stylized Super hot game with dubstep ambience. The game got little repetitive and tricky to play after a while you can't see upcoming car when you just switched the lane to another but the camera effect when changing lane and the rain effect on the glass and rainy mood made nice atmosphere!

I really like this idea, but the game is difficult to process. The rain texture on the windshield makes it incredibly difficult to see, and the different audio tracks clash and are a bit distracting.

Increasing the general visibility and/or slower speed will make it the game slightly more forgiving :sweat_smile: . But i like how you combined the visuals and music to create a hectic mood.

The foggy, hectic atmosphere is great, but it's a little finicky and oversensitive when playing.

@moomka yes you are correct, the cars will start hitting you after you keep looking back after 6 seconds, a red flag should appear on the screen

Cool concept, maybe you should add a more violent feedback to the failure. I loved the "rain on the windshield" shader effect.

Really impressed with this game. Has a definite SUPERHOT vibe. I like the use of bullet-time. Really really liked this. In a full version I'd hope the windshield wipers cleared the rain from the windshield. Was really impressed with the visuals on the rain as well. Made me think of a recurring nightmare I have about driving and unable to see out the windshield. Unless I missed something, some kind of earlier warning of oncoming traffic would be nice. Great job!

Lots to like about this game, the slow motion was great, the rain effects also! And lots of nice details like the way the camera has that momentum shift when you change lanes. As others have mentioned tho, dodging cars is tough, most of the time I was just relying on luck. I think if you made it so the slow motion kicked in when the driver spotted a car directly ahead that could have made it easier, could switch back and try to change lanes before crashing. Likewise some kind of intense crash animation/sfx would have been cool too. But definetly some good potential here, nice work!

Somehow the game looked and felt more like an artistic action movie rather than a jam game lol. Shooting at the cars coming from behind felt extremely juicy with the slow-motion, particles, door and car physics, and even a character model laying on floor (which didn't even glitch out, what?!?).

Graphically the presentation was top notch; was expecting just an asset flip of SUPERHOT with driving, but was proven wrong. The rain effects looked amazing, the presentation was clean and it ran well even in the browser on my ultrabook. Soundscape was also spot on. The one thing I'd criticise tho would be the driving, it felt too challenging for me, but then again, could be just me being n00b.

You guys should maybe expand on this idea; I feel like you are onto something. Very nicely done!

Achei interessante a troca, gera bastante aflição. Gostei dos sons e dos gráficos, achei um pouco difícil por não conseguir ver nada da estrada enquanto atiro e vice versa. Talvez dê pra brincar um pouco usando os espelhos do carro pra não deixar tão "às cegas"

Thanks @owlhowell and @terristen !!! In the early development of the projet we tryied to implement this feature:

However, the guy which developed this project, did everything the most dumb and naive way, so, the water drops started draining almost 600 batches from CPU and then, we just left this idea, we would not achieve a whole refactor within the jam's time frame!

dumb & naive = no pooling + secondary camera instead of writing the water drops world positions straight to the texture and then input into the shader

Awesome! The mood in this was definitely top notch, the slow-mo and sound effects, the moving body in the back, the swinging doors, all of it works together perfectly to make it feel like an action movie.

Seems like with a little more time you could've turned this into a full action game. Shooting the cars was fun, but it didn't seem like there was any real reason to do it. I thought there would be police cars chasing me and I'd have to shoot them down. Also, it seems like a major design challenge to figure out a good way to let the player shoot out the back without crashing the car. Maybe a mirror somewhere? Like a reflection off the swinging car doors? Idk.

Overall, awesome job here. I hope you keep working on this because it's pretty great.

Loved the atmosphere and effects while driving. I felt bad shooting ove my poor buddy on the gurney.

If you carry on developing after the compo, it'd be cool to see more colour and/or some UI for the gun/aiming , and maybe a way of seeing more of the road ahead.

Something that could be fun is aiming ( in reverse ) in rear-view while in driving mode, or alternatively, some method of seeing the road while shooting backwards( a reflection in some medical device / boxes etc) .

Really loved the idea and concept. Sounds were very well done and implemented too. You should keep working on this game. Wish I could change lane while shooting, since the audio is a clear warning. The mood is on point. Noticed that most of the time the point that the player needs to shoot is in the center of the screen. Maybe add more variety to that. Loved how the car flies when I shoot it right. Really fun to play, polished and looking and feelling nice. Congrats. Great game!

Great game! I had a blast playing it. The sounds are very cool. You should really keep working on the game and make it a real game, that you can sell. I couldn't really see anything, which made the game really hard. When I saw a car, I had about half a sec to react.

@lairinlair Hey! You can change lanes while shooting, just press A or D, it will change, you can also avoid cars when hearing them and seeing the red lights on the backdoors
