A shame Vesta didn't make it in time. But it's really nice. Love the shading and the mood. Somehow reminds me of the ghost hunting in Zelda MM. Which is good.
Alas - when the fire bar runs out, the game doesn'T end. It'll keep burning. I think I wouldn't even have made it through the first third of the night other wise, :D

@damagefilter Thank you for your kind words! The the fire bar has a little buffer for convenience reasons, but we might adjust it after we find the time to do some more balancing. :v: And yes, the scene from Majora's Mask was a huge influence. Still one of the best Zelda games imho. :)

@flaviat Nice! I'll take a look at your game tonight! :)
Edit: So I just tried out your game and I loved the idea of having roguelite elements in it. The skilltree adds a sense of replayability to it which makes it even better. Apart from that you're totally right, Our ideas we're pretty similar. Good Job on that game and keep the fire burnin'! ;)

@Brenan Thank you kindly! We already shortened the night from 15 to 10 minutes, but some of us really wanted to give the game some challenge.

Sweet game!
I wouldve liked a bit of camera rotation and possibly a hud element so I could find the fire on the first level, I nearly got lost a few times. Camera rotation would've also helped with seeing the logs, as the trees could get in the way sometimes.
Well Done!

@Aphid98 You're totally right. We initially thought about adding a shader to indicate the player and fire position ingame, but there were more important things to do beforehand. Maybe we'll add it in the near future. Anyways - thanks for your feedback!
Edit: There is a compass HUD element in the game now, which points into the general direction of the campfire, so you don't get lost anymore.

Wow, this is super atmospheric. Great art, and the level design’s impressive as well—I couldn’t say exactly how, but I never got lost running around the forest. The creatures are a nice touch too. Oddly, the meter for my main fire went out close to the end of the game but it didn’t cause a game-over—maybe I misunderstood what the lose condition was? Regardless: nice work.
Top marks for lighting and moodiness. Reminded me of the Romani Ranch "alien" attack from Majora's Mask a bit. The night does seem to last too long though.

Lot's of campfire games this time around. I like the effect you're using on the outlines of objects. The mood is also great. However, it is a bit hard to navigate the world, because of the camera not moving and trees getting in the way. I also wasn't sure what to do against the enemies, run maybe?

@mika-la-grand Thank you for your feedback! There is an update on its way containing a compass (and a lot of other content), which makes the navigation alot easier. I'll publish a post as soon as the update goes live. When it comes to the enemies, you can defeat them by swinging your torch (PC: Left Mouse Button / Controller: X).
@damagefilter Hey, thanks for playing! Glad you liked it. Yeah the fire can run out for a few seconds before you die^^ i made that on purpose so you can still make it if you're close to the fire. Eventually you will die though :)
Wow, really impresive. I hope you'll continu to work on it post-game jam

Looks fantastic ! Thank you for making it :)
absolutely beautiful game, really impressive. Wish there was a volume slider though as it was a little loud seemed to force itself over windows taskbar preventing me from using volume slider.

Great game! Started cos of the bonfire keyword, associated with Dark Souls. Then noticed you have similar theme as me, but executed better. I tried 3 times but I got lost every time, got to the midnight. Godamn Shadows!! As it is not enough that I am dealing with the Shadow parts of myself IRL, those fuckers have to attack my fire even in the game. Great experience :D

I enjoyed this game a lot. The aspects that impressed me most, aside from the stunning visuals and the well developed mood was , interesting enough, the overall polish and the clean as well as beautiful UI.
The interpretation of the theme seems to be quite common, but the implementation of having a stationary as well as a portable fire source sets St Hestia apart. The ghost were a nice addition, that worked well atmospherically, although I'm not quite sure if they have an actual gameplay impact. Do they drain the fire?
Overall a fun experience on a - for a jam - suprisingly high level of polish

@radow Thank you so much for your feedback! It means a lot to the team, especially since we don't have any UI-Art specialist with us. For us the UI is always something like a love-hate relationship.
As for the ghosts, they burst when they're close enough to the campfire and do moderate damage. We didn't want to set the value too high to keep the game playable. Do you think, the game was too easy?

@daniel-whittaker Thank you for your feedback! There are currently no plans on adding a settings menu into the game, but if we do so, you'll find out via [Itch](https://sleeprunner.itch.io/st-hestia "St. Hestia") or [Twitter](https://twitter.com/ZzzSleeprunner "Sleeprunner Studios"). We'll discuss this matter next week.
Good graphics and audio. It was a little boring to run from one side of map to another. Lack of actions. But for 72h it is a good try. Excellent entry!
Great graphics, the ghosts were certainly spooky! I liked how you used a black sphere to really create some proper darkness. And just overall the game felt nice with the controls and looked great. I just wish the ghosts were a bit more of a threat! Like if they were super bad to come across, would have made them as freaky as they looked. I wasnt sure how to fight them tho, or if they were attacking me, or exactly what was going on there. Some really good elements at work here tho!
Graphics are very cool
