Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Had a lot of fun playing through this one. Well paced. Had not seen this use of a grappling hook before. Would definitely play more. Loved the spider creatures especially. Nice jam!

My gf told what game too cruel

bajtix 2020-04-26 19:21

I love it! It fits the theme and the gameplay is brilliant. I think you should add some more levels and maybe more platforming sections and release it as a full game!

madbarron 2020-04-26 19:22

Hey this is great! Took me a while to figure it out, but it's a pretty satisfying and challenging boss fight you got there. I love the story, and the whole thing is short enough to not overstay its welcome :) Excellent job!

amdmaster 2020-04-26 19:42

This is soooo cool. I loved every second of this game. Feels well polished...

eduardogacn 2020-04-29 02:21

this game is amazing!

puppetmaster 2020-04-30 20:58

first well, then ok, but then OMG it's awesome, such an unusual mechanism and then the flying bones. Just great!! Congrats to your entry!! Well done!

dvdfu 2020-04-30 23:28

This is definitely one of the best LD's I've played!!

The mechanic feels really fluid, creative, and it's presented with a simple colour design that's really intuitive and does the job for the game. I died a number of times in the fights but was really compelled to keep playing til the end. The story is mysterious but interesting and worked with the theme well.

Completely awesome entry, good job!

Awesome game! one of my favourites I've rated! I suck at this game but its still fun. love the graphics and the gameplay mechanic.

Sad end. Good Dog. I passed the game without a whistle) Excellent mechanics with great potential!

rayriver 2020-05-01 07:04

I made it! Really sad end. My dog is that strong to destroy spiders(?) by combo! Good job!

bredian 2020-05-01 22:07

It is really good entry. I loved these juicy music and effects, and gameplay is really engaging. But I think difficulty jump on level 3 (level 2, if not counting a tutorial level) is too big for me. Sure, all the necessary mechanics were *properly* introduced, but I wasn't good enough in them by the time I got to the level 2. But this game is very solid.

P.S. Is this gameplay inspired by Spiderman, per chance?

eran-haas 2020-05-02 00:19

This is really good. One of the most creative and fun central mechanics I have seen this jam! I love a good grappling hook! Difficult, but the good kind of difficult. I loved seeing the procedural of the animation on the spiders. There is something I really enjoy about seeing new techniques used with an old art style.

Audio was fantastic, really added to the feel of the game!

cupertino-game-dev-club 2020-05-02 00:50

Smart game! The mechanic by itself is already interesting, as there is an inherent difficulty involved with throwing your dog. The way you build on the grappling hook idea just makes it better, liking being able to pull spiders and disable them, making your dog vulnerable to damage (so whenever you try to kill an enemy you're taking a risk), and pausing them jump a bit at the top to allow players to aim their shot. The simpler graphics and color scheme helped me pick out what were enemies and what I could use my grappling hook on. The difficulty at level 3 made the game more engaging, and balanced out by the fact that you didn't punish the player too much for dying. Nice job!

Hey man, really wanted to play your game but sadly I only have Mac and it wouldn't run and gave me this message "Unable to find game||:" luckily my team was able to play it on their PCs. Hopefully they will leave some feedback. Took a screenshot too. It wouldn't quit either had to force quit it. [Screen Shot 2020-05-01 at 8.02.36 PM.png](///raw/ebb/61/z/33aaf.png)

@nathant @bajtix @madbarron @amdmaster @eduardogacn @puppetmaster @dvdfu @virtuaworlds @ailesangen @rayriver @bredian @eran-haas @cupertino-game-dev-club @aaron-lehnen Thank you everyone for your feedback and kind words! @bredian strangely enough, not a single though about Spider-Man crossed my mind :) @aaron-lehnen hey! This is a common problem with some Mac build from GMS2. This might be resolved by moving .app file to any other directory from your downloads folder. I work on Mac myself, and tested it before uploading - it should be fine. Tell me if you have any luck launching the game!

I don't think I've ever played a game quite like this before, really nicely done! It took me a bit to realize I could throw my dog onto enemies to kill them, but once I realized that it really took off. One minor issue I had was the fact that the grapple was bound to the shoulder buttons - on my controller it felt awkward to reach, and since they weren't being used for anything I feel like the triggers would have been a better choice. Aiming was also a little odd, since I was expecting it to auto-aim most of the time instead of actually require me to aim. Maybe some kind of reticle or laser-sight looking thing could help clear that up? Either way, I really love what you've done here, great work!

thibaud-ligneul 2020-05-08 09:49

Hey there, thanks for playing our game! I tried yours (and your older submissions which are all great btw, really dig 'human') : cool idea, original format, and good game-feel. Congrats!

alchemic 2020-05-09 07:41

Really well-made game all around. I love the art style. Was a bit short, but that's not a bad thing. Some sort of final boss fight would have been nice to see.

I didn't really feel like the difficulty was quite there. I could tell things were getting more difficult as I progressed, but it didn't feel like much. The lasers were a bit too easy to dodge. Some kind of enemy homing rocket would have fixed this, I think.

Good dog!

There is no option for us Linuxers :(

Thanks for playing my game! I wanted to play yours as a back-favor.

@sciman101 @thibaud-ligneul @alchemic @stanov thanks! @sciman101 aiming might also feel this way because it wasn’t properly explained, I think. It does auto-aim in most suitable target towards direction you hold the stick. It compares angles and distances to all possible targets and decides on what you’re looking at. I felt like arm and a reticle will convey this information, but it seems that didn’t work too. @alchemic yeah, it would be great to put a boss in for the final battle, but couldn’t make it time, unfortunately. As for the difficulty - the choice for the difficulty was deliberate. I’ve made some challenging games for the past jams, and wanted to make something more accessible this time. This was sort of successful, but some people still have a hard time playing the game.
