Super pleasant to play, had a blast!!! Nice ambience, mechanics, movement, level design, historical background. Loved it a lot, congratulations.

I like this game, it is atmospheric and I like the fact that the level has multiple pathways that lead to the same area, I loved having the choice to go one way or another, I could choose to deal with the dogs, or deal with the wind. All in all great game, keep up the great work.

Nice use of theme with Greek mythology and great art style. Fun little platformer.

I appreciate all the checkpoints, had a struggle trying to explore the whole map, ending up getting a little frustrated and rushing for the end. Loved how the wolves looked through the darkness!

I love the graphics, and the gameplay feels just right. There's really nice mood overall, great job!

i liked it a lot, first game i played all the way through. love the idea of "keeping the fire alive" ties in very well wit the theme.

Greek mythology you say? I love the story of prometheus, and this is a nice game with a nice athmostphere to it. I wasn't able to finish it, but I really liked playing it and the checkpoint system. I think as a platformer this works great, but it needs a little bit more mechanics to make it a longer game.

Overall, I really liked this game!

Well-done game! We had similar concepts of a diminishing light source :) Really enjoyed the platforming (especially the branching paths) and the hand-drawn style graphics were neat! A solid entry.

Solid platformer that fits great with the theme. I enjoyed the cave-painting style art and pairing it with greek myth is an awesome idea. Well done!

Usually a platformer where you cannot see the platforms would be a bad idea, but this works pretty well! Having some things show in the darkness is enough to see where to go, and the torch radius is decently sizes too. The setting is great for the theme, keeping a fire alive relating to Prometheus is clever. The about menu should have a way to go back to the main menu. The game is short, though I greatly appreciate the multiple checkpoints to reduce potential frustration for the times a blind jump leads to death. Great work overall!

Cool mechanics! I really like that you kept the lore and mythology in it, like the Zeus using wind to slow Prometheus down etc. VERY cool and creative! Also, the stress of getting to another bonfire really gets to you while playing :D

Very nice simple game. The graphics are pretty good and together with sound add quite a lot to the atmosphere. I liked how there are different paths you can take creating a bit of replayability

I liked the simple graphics and how effectively they added to the atmosphere, and that fire audio also goes a long way towards solidifying the mood. Effective use of simple obstacles like wind/rain and wolves. It did feel quite easy, but the building blocks are great, and I'm a sucker for a Prometheus narrative. Nicely done.

GREAT GAME! loved the mood so much, and I got really immersed when playing it. I especially liked the design that you can save the game at certain locations. It's one of the most impressive games I've played so far. Good job :)

An interesting and very well made little platform game. The music, sounds, and visual style is overall good, and gives the game and interesting atmosphere. I would have liked the story to be voice acted, but for a jam game it is okay it is not. Overall is this good little jam game. Well done.

Interesting little platformer. I understand that it is based on Greek legend, but this whole dark theme, bonfires as checkpoints and carrying a flame reminded me of Dark Souls, which is nice touch.

Well-designed game! The checkpoint is smart! Just sometimes misuse the spacebar for jumping

kjscott 2020-05-12 11:14

One of the best implementation of a keep the fire alive with the different obstacles, wind, rain, wolves, along with the mythological story you drew from to set the scene. The checkpoints were really welcome though their relative closeness and short length of the game meant that it was pretty easy to get through the game even after one or two setbacks. Overall though, really great.

Great job! I can honestly say your entry was one of the most fun I've had with the jam games. It can be a bit frustrating at times because it's not clear where the hitboxes start and end. The elements of a solid platformer are there though! Well done.

solifuge 2020-05-12 12:01

I noticed your entry was a few votes short, so I played it on Twitch and gave some live feedback. VOD is up on Youtube, if you'd like to see it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi6oja9yekY

What a beautiful, moody, satisfying platformer! The time limit imposed by the flame kept driving you forward and exploration feel risky, with campfires as waystations and places to collect yourself. The way new mechanics unfolded as you progress through the world was really great too. Appreciated the nuggets of narrative as you go along, and the meaningful choice of whether to avoid wolves, or spend your fire fighting them. Elegant, well-executed, and thematically strong platformer! Really had fun with this. Thanks so much for making it!
