LD46 — Keep it alive

Locked'goshi by StabAlarash 2020-04-22T19:13:31Z

Good game with a lot of polish!

Cat Dad Redemption by Riftpoint Entertainment 2020-04-22T14:56:33Z

What a well rounded game. Nice graphics, sound effects, funny narration and fun gameplay! Great work with this entry!

But there's only room for one western game in this here game jam, partner....

Displacement by ryannielson 2020-04-23T15:55:21Z

I thought that this was a clever core mechanic of what could be a great puzzle game, but it misses an undo button that this game could do with. I say this becuase having the movement cost action points only makes it so any moves done to think(at least how I play puzzle games) makes it so even if you solved the puzzle you mightn't reach the exit. Great puzzle game nonetheless!

jumpgolf by torcado 2020-04-20T19:38:16Z

Love the visuals! Gave up trying to reach then end cause it was stressing me out but it felt tight, nice work!

Nekotchi by Devastus 2020-04-21T10:22:43Z

Art was super clean as well as the sound effects. The game over screen is pretty fun too. Cute game to chill with!

Keep Away by infinitycore 2020-04-21T14:43:57Z

There was a bug when an enemy got under my tower and I couldn't aim at it and the controls are a bit complicated. Other than that, it was an interesting game, I enjoyed it a good bit!

Mayday by awerar 2020-04-21T11:01:57Z

Great game that fits the theme very well. The visuals were a treat.

It Rains Swords by fullmontis 2020-04-21T14:36:43Z

Like the look of the game but it was pretty difficult to protect the flower without dying yourself.

ADRENA-LINE by managore 2020-04-20T19:47:58Z

Damn I love your style so much. All your itch pages are a treat. Oh yeah the game was great too! Only gripe I have is that it isn't mixed up but that's standard for game jams.

Apocalyp Snow by keln 2020-04-21T14:49:08Z

A solid entry all round. Graphics and audio are pleasing and the gameplay is fun. Great job on this!

Egdar's Blobs by Noa Calice 2020-04-21T13:28:52Z

Great audio and visuals. It was a bit frustrating at times to move the slurpies with the platforms.

Embers by Anuke 2020-04-20T19:30:03Z

Really good game, astonishing you had the time to make all of this!

Сharon-don-don by Royoyo 2020-04-21T23:19:54Z

This is a well made game clearly with a lot of thought behind it. I found the gameplay loop to be entertaining. Unfortunately I felt overwhelmed by how much info is given at the start, this is the type of game that really needs a tutorial but it is a jam game and I learned the controls nonetheless. Pretty solid piece well done!

VAMP by gwinnell 2020-04-21T14:22:25Z

Graphically pleasing and the audio was fun too. The lunge feels so satisfying. Great work, this entry needs more attention!

Chicken Shuffle by helpcomputer 2020-04-20T22:22:07Z

A really good looking game that complies with the theme. It's seems to be encouraged to just spam the action key while walking around one plot which isn't challenging. Great game!

Dungeon Feeds by PatrickRMC 2020-04-20T18:45:37Z

The game was good and I really dig your artstyle man! More feedback would make the game even more fun, for example enemies and the player flashing white when getting hit. The arena was a bit small with the enemies and their numbers.

Heart String by MZA 2020-04-20T18:55:45Z

Really innovative mechanic. Felt that the difficulty curve was a bit too steep, it jumped up in difficulty right after the first two levels. Good visuals and audio.

Hextayin' Alive by alareo 2020-04-21T23:07:09Z

Hard to grasp what's going on at first but after a while I started enjoying myself despite not really understanding the rules.

Lich Clicker by Fictions 2020-04-21T22:18:14Z

I'm not a really a fan of clickers but yours offers a lot of twists that I enjoy. Having upgrades that don't just increase the number per second but actually change up the gameplay a bit was refreshing. It's overall a well polished game!

2 Souls Together by Lestat 2020-04-21T10:07:14Z

The looks were really good, suited the tone. I thought the timer was a bit too long. Good game!

Rise of the Purple Slime by NateTheGreat 2020-04-20T21:24:38Z

That was really fun. Loved how satisfying it was! Shame there wasn't any sound.

Cubi & Spheri by Hugo kieffer 2020-04-21T14:31:12Z

Cool main mechanic that suits the theme and it looked good too!

Focus, kid! by Necromic 2020-04-21T21:47:03Z

Super well made game its just a shame there isn't more!!

Spirit of the Tree by sat9 2020-04-21T11:22:02Z

The game looks really good. More feedback when your attacked or enemies are attacked would be nice. Few instances of skeletons freezing right after spawning. Every time I tried to kill an enemy, they nearly always took a heart off me, which felt a little unfair.

Prophet by marcell-balog 2020-04-21T14:08:46Z

Cool game with progression and good looking models.

Sweet Resurrection by James Shipp 2020-04-23T16:08:24Z

I love it! Great Graphics

But really, good looking game and sound. I liked the potion making but the switches seemed too easy, you could just look at the colour of wire leading into the switch and light which defeated the purpose of having them jumbled?

Wayfarers by Tednesday 2020-04-20T19:03:02Z

This was a great game! Graphics and audio were really good. The rules took me a good while to figure out what was going on and what the numbers meant but after that I found it pretty interesting. Well done!

Coronary Flypass by squirmonkey 2020-04-20T20:43:09Z

Well put together game, the voiceover was funny, the art was great and the physics was fun!

Lumberjack by Andre Gugelmin 2020-04-21T23:38:55Z

Low poly aesthetic, forest ambiance and particle effects were pretty.

The Last Humans by FumiKnight 2020-04-21T21:33:41Z

What a great looking game! Loved the aesthetic. Felt that it could've done with some enemies. Great work with this game, it deserves more ratings!

Fish Flop by OgelGames 2020-04-22T15:17:39Z

I didn't reach the end because starting from the start was a bit too harsh for dying but I did reach the top of the logo!! Flying Fish.png

Runaway by HackTrout 2020-04-20T20:03:15Z

@ishmandoo Oh my god! Thanks a lot!! I could never put my finger on why it sounded so weird, completely escaped my mind!

Runaway by HackTrout 2020-04-20T20:06:45Z

@mza I love GMTK! I can never tell if I should overly exaggerate things like camera shake and impactful sounds.

Runaway by HackTrout 2020-04-20T20:09:55Z

@whitefox I didn't have time to implement a proper goal other than staying alive so you just kinda play until you lose but you're right that there isn't a lot of communication or feedback.

Runaway by HackTrout 2020-04-22T15:45:53Z

I have to thank you for your mighty kind words @lairinlair, guess I'll have to go pay a visit to this Last Cactus character... till next time

All Systems Grow [LD46: KEEP IT ALIVE] by itsandyjones 2020-04-20T22:47:13Z

Love the artstyle and atmosphere. The mechanics were new and interesting. Some parts were way harder for me than others like the stretch between the first laser you see and the next checkpoint. Love the name too!

Keep chicks alive! by Sleeping Panda Games 2020-04-20T22:10:12Z

Great game with nice platforming mechanics!

Fruit vs Hand by Joe Allen Dev 2020-04-23T16:58:24Z

Well polished game. What can I say it's really good, good job!

Lost Souls by Raineii 2020-04-21T21:39:22Z

A game with a good mood, great work with this entry!

Slime Mama by Jack Kaloger 2020-04-21T15:01:10Z

Very polished gameplay, great pixel art and animations and banging music. Great work!

Sustain Defence by waterlemon 2020-04-21T09:52:51Z

Nice graphics and concept. The only thing I didn't like was the controls it felt a little stiff or confusing. I'm sure with enough practice I could get used to it though. Well done!

The Last Cactus by HomunculusGames 2020-04-22T16:01:13Z

It pains me to say this partner, but there can only be one western themed game set on a steam locomotive with an outlaw on the loose. But I know when I've lost so I'll be on my way now... you deserve it partner. You nailed the western theme! Great game!

KiTa by MKRaw 2020-04-22T15:40:48Z

A super well polished game. Fantastic entry!

Satisfy'n: Keep the Love Alive by BlackOpsBen 2020-04-21T22:09:09Z

It's true to its name, that was very satisfying! Who knew one man could single-handedly increase the population and stimulate the economy of a small town.

Great game in all seriousness. Pretty funny (especially that secret). Only complaint is that some sounds like the car engine were a bit too loud.

The horse needs help by WhiteFox 2020-04-20T21:49:36Z

Congrats on your first game! I hope you don't mind me giving feedback because it's your first time.

The game is a bit too easy. After I learned the controls I collected as many apples as possible and just stood feeding the horse when he needs them. Instead of allowing the player to collect as many apples as possible, maybe only let them pick 1 or 3 or 5 apples to hold at once? A counter showing the player's held apples could be nice too.

I wish you luck on your game dev journey!!

Out Of Harms Way by Play-Pause-Games 2020-04-20T20:00:13Z

Surprising to see how much you managed to accomplish in such a short time. The selection screen was confusing at first like @sanicspeedgames said, but the sheer amount of weapons was pretty cool. I also liked the dude over the intercom.

Having your escort be the light is interesting but I feel like they should've followed you a bit closer instead of you going completely into the dark without light and getting shot at. The game's hard. I got killed a minute into the game, I feel like that is a bit too difficult. They can also get stuck behind walls.

FROGISLN.ELF by WittyCognomen 2020-04-21T14:16:30Z

I really dig the look! I think a score counter and sound fx would be nice but it's a good entry nonetheless!

Rescue Mission: Amateur Hour by jsladovic 2020-04-21T11:07:41Z

Cool stealth game. I like the sneaky walk cycle.

Fencing Meka by Solweak 2020-04-23T16:26:11Z

The game has great art and pretty tight controls, sometimes the friction was a bit floaty. Coyote time (which isn't completely necessary for a jam game) could've been nice for platforming. The foreground pieces were a nice touch but blocked the view of the next platform in some cases. You were also able to move before the respawn transition faded. All these are minor things and normal for jam games but could be nice for a post jam update! Great entry!

Catastrophe: Wildfire Firefighters by Kaappis 2020-04-22T16:52:49Z

Very clean look and the gameplay is really fun. The music got me pumped to bulldoze the homes of innocent civilians!

Keep It Alive! by Almartmen 2020-04-20T19:12:05Z

The graphics were good as well as the audio. The enemies spawn very quick after a short time as I was getting used to the rules and I was quickly overwhelmed by spiders. Good adherence to the them, well done!

The Old Shelter by Seind 2020-04-21T11:32:37Z

I liked the game a lot. Understood it pretty quickly and I found it fun. I kept thinking that the vampires would come out of their coffins to add extra challenge, bit of a missed opportunity.

Last Light by LykaWolfie 2020-04-22T16:34:19Z

Good game with a nice aesthetic, felt that the player's movement was a bit floaty. Nice entry!

Last Light by LykaWolfie 2020-04-23T16:48:41Z

@lykawolfie Sure, it was a bit vague of me. By floaty I meant that the time between releasing the button (left or right) and the player coming to a complete stop was long. Typically for platformers, you want snappy movement. There can be a bit of accerlation and deceleration but it normally takes less than a second or two to completely stop.

Blockemon by Steven C 2020-04-21T11:58:12Z

Surprised at how much there was to do. Obviously went for the green blockemon. The player having health themself is an interesting idea. I like the low poly look.

Good Shapes, Bad Shapes by ishmandoo 2020-04-20T21:37:44Z

Loved the music and overall look of the game. Liked how different shapes had different behaviours, personal fav is the pentagon. Few bugs like seeing out the world on the right side of the map. Nice game!

Teeter (HTML) by murpyh 2020-04-20T21:29:56Z

I felt the difficulty could've been toned down a bit. Either by giving the player more room to work with or making the cup more forgiving. It's a clever idea though. The sound effect for losing is a bit loud..

Günther by Massassen 2020-04-22T17:03:49Z

I originally thought the controls were a bit hard but I got the hang of them quickly and they felt good. Pixel art looks good too!

LD52 — Harvest

Build a Frank by Elastiskalinjen 2023-01-10T08:22:51Z

This game has great style! I liked its casual vibe, it wasn't too much pressure to get the hands and feet but it wasn't easy either!

Seeds Must Grow! by Neon Glass 2023-01-10T09:55:58Z

Nice puzzle game. I feel the levels could be a little longer so you could fully utilise the entire field.

Intake Outake by HackTrout 2023-01-10T18:54:52Z

@dzugaru Thanks for playing! The amount you get for mature crops are exactly half of the peak mature ones. Either way that amount is multiplied by a combo factor :)

Afterlife Assistance Agency by FishMasterino 2023-01-10T14:49:10Z

Short and sweet. A really tightly tuned game with no major flaws. I especially liked how the track got more energetic around the half way point, a nice little bit of adaptive music which is ambitious for a jam game! Well done :)

Farm Patronum! by MrchickenBoy 2023-01-10T08:59:01Z

The Player controller looks really clean and controls well. I found the game really hard, I'm immediately overrun with enemies in the first 10 seconds.

Growout by ThePW 2023-01-09T21:57:48Z

Congrats on publishing a finished game 5 hours before the deadline! It's a solid gameplay loop. I'm not a fan of having to constantly switch tools by using the mouse, it gets really tedious, really fast. I found that the difficulty spikes really sharply eventually and I was just overrun. Nice game.

Harvest Soon by ImInSoftware 2023-01-10T08:41:58Z

This is a charming little game that I found myself playing for longer than I thought. I really like how you can only build up to terraces from below but you cannot go down wherever you want, stopped me from straying too far. The world gen suits the gameplay really well. The graphics are simple but pleasing. The game doesn't do a lot of explaining but I liked experimenting but I had to glance at the Controls section a good few times which took me out of it. Overall solid entry :)

Danger in the Potager by Odey 2023-01-10T14:44:23Z

Really good art, the character animation is really charming. That's how I'd describe this game as a whole, Charming! Congratulations on this submission :)

Combine Harv-racer by procrasteroid 2023-01-10T14:23:09Z

It's a solid racing game, I especially like the jiggy music in the background. It fits the game perfectly. I think a more dynamic camera would be nice, for example it lagging behind the player to give a sense of speed and also putting the centre of the screen in front of the player to show where you're heading. This would be handy in spotting those cows as I found that they popped out of nowhere.

Sleeping Potion by LaGerbe 2023-01-10T12:11:45Z

This game has a really cute aesthetic, I love the art you've made for this! I felt the movement was pretty floaty and the enemies were pushovers.

Bewitched Boomerang by Ragenord 2023-01-10T14:36:47Z

The art for this game is really really well done. I felt the boomerang was hard to control and ended up just spamming it without any thought. I think the walls just get in the way and the player should be punished instead for randomly throwing the boomerang when it hits the explosive enemies. The zombie plants are pushovers as well, I didn't mind when they bump me around a little bit. Congratulations on submitting a finished game :)
