Amazing game bro! I think the controls might need a bit more polish but the level design, the graphics and the music are fantastic!

giu-zcc 2020-04-21 09:01

Love it! The graphic, the sound are amazing, love the story too :)

almalexxia 2020-04-21 10:15

I really really really like the atmosphere!! Good job

kultisti 2020-04-21 10:33

Love the graphics and the narrative (would love to see more adventures from mr plant and meka <3) Good work!

barrier 2020-04-21 10:47

Looks great! Solid platforming controls I can only complain about the E key, would be better as "enter" or something, so you could use it with the other hand while you move.

solweak 2020-04-21 10:59

@barrier yeah i did not get the time to properly look at the controls but i thought "E" for interact / sword attack was good as you can jump with left hand thumb, index on "E" and use the right hand to move. I should have build a little tool to let players configure their own but key. Thanks for your feedback all :) !

adam-munton 2020-04-21 11:06

Beautiful looking game and suitable audio immediately connects me with the world. Controls feel a bit raw when you are jumping so you might want to look at some of the great guidance out there on how to aid the player a little with this type of movement - assuming you didn't just have time time to refine them. I'd come back to this if you do more with it.

heelio157 2020-04-21 12:29

Really cool looking graphics! The controls feels great and the story/dialogs was fun. I just found myself stuck because of the low luminosity of my display, dark gray platforms on black backgrounds are difficult to see in certain conditions. A little more contrast would be good ;)

yoan-allibert 2020-04-21 12:56

Great athmosphere, impressive backgrounds, art and mood in general. Good controls on the jump, but the E key was a bit awkward to use while moving. Great work for a Compo!

asue 2020-04-21 18:41

Pretty clean LD entry, awesome graphics catchy music. This is super stuy material for me. I will definetly learn some stuff from your project. Thank you for your game. Well time spent. Could you please share with me whole Unity project? I can see scripts only.

frogravity 2020-04-22 20:35

Very nice game! You created an interesting world with great graphics. The WebGL build had rather low FPS on my computer, so It'd been nice if there had also been a Windows build. Other than that, great job!

hacktrout 2020-04-23 16:26

The game has great art and pretty tight controls, sometimes the friction was a bit floaty. Coyote time (which isn't completely necessary for a jam game) could've been nice for platforming. The foreground pieces were a nice touch but blocked the view of the next platform in some cases. You were also able to move before the respawn transition faded. All these are minor things and normal for jam games but could be nice for a post jam update! Great entry!

riccastudio 2020-04-23 16:44

I really like the graphics, but i would have made the shadows from the groundtiles a little bit transparent. Cheers

diw527 2020-04-23 17:33

It's a nice simple game. I liked the colors and the graphics. Some of the elements overlay the surface, sometimes making it difficult to navigate on the platforms. It is not convenient that you can pass through the poles rather than crash into them. Nice

kiguel182 2020-04-23 21:14

Fantastic work. The graphics and animations were lovely and it controlled really well. The platforms hidden by the background weren't my favorite but apart from that is a really solid and well designed platformer. Great work!

thewinrawr 2020-04-24 00:42

You nailed the mood. The graphics and audio are top notch, and the dialogue was pretty fun to read too. My only complaint are the hidden platforms that blend in with the foreground, trying to figure out how to navigate those can be a little annoying. Other than that, definitely one of the best entries I've played. Great job!

codyhansen 2020-04-24 07:02

You did all this in 48 hours? I'm very impressed. This game had everything, excellent audio, graphics (look at that background!), and even a story!

This felt like a cutout of a fully polished, much larger game. You captured a great game experience in such a short time. Best I've played so far!

solweak 2020-04-24 07:18

Thanks all for your feedback !

@hacktrout @kiguel182 @thewinrawr Thanks again, so yeah the elements that overlay and hide some platform was intended, this was an experiment for this kind of mechanics. With all your feedback, i can now see that's not really fun.

@codyhansen Yeah i slept 3 hours during the entire jam, i really wanted to challenge myself !

ptsnoop 2020-04-25 07:39

I was okay with the platforms being hidden by the foreground, but I would have liked more contrast on the dark-grey-platforms-on-black-background. I could see them if I closed the curtains to remove screen-glare, but not otherwise. Apart from that, though, I really love the visual style. Very atmospheric!

aristo 2020-04-25 07:41

Wow !! That is amazing for 72hours. The overall "Game Feel" created with sound and graphics is really good work. Only problem i faced was some roofs colliders under the boxes were missing as i could walk past through it. Really Nice work still.

paul-giovannini 2020-04-25 07:43

That's a really good game ! Smooth control, nice music and really polish ! I love the way you used parallax and the color you chose ! Some platform are hidden by the foreground so it is sometime difficult to play, but you added a lot of checkpoint so failing isn't too frustrating ! One of the best game I played this ludum, congrats !

solweak 2020-04-25 07:52

@ptsnoop haha thx, it's noted a lot of people encountered visual issues i'll definitely keep that in mind for my future games.

@aristo This is a 48h compo game, so i'm even more thrilled by your compliments, thanks a lot ! The collider are only on top of the roof, so yeah you can go through the wall, i also keep that in mind.

Thanks a lot for your constructive criticism.

smiley 2020-04-25 08:24

Great game :) I loved the parallax scrolling and the particles. :) and an extra score for making a HTML5-build, such a rare thing these days ;)

doritolord 2020-04-25 08:40

as everyone already said: amazing graphics, good choice of music and sound effects. my only concern is the fact that when there was a transition after my death (the black screen thingy), i could move before the the screen was away. so i was moving while being blinded by the screen and obviously died. maybe look into it?

jojopalambas 2020-04-25 10:27

Really nice game, awesome graphics and sound design!

The foreground can sometimes be a little annoying, but the rest of the game is great!

aristo 2020-04-25 12:16

@solweak My bad. I wrote 72h by mistake. I meant 48h only. (This doesn't mean anything less though. Just replied this to clarify.)

hillelgo 2020-04-25 12:57

Really good! For me there was a very difficult bug where if I walked forward and attacked with the sword the character continued walking forward... making me fall off ledges.

despdair 2020-04-25 13:37

This is overall good and cool idea on foreground cogs. However, at some platforms, that foreground blocks player and platform entirely which makes it harder to play. And not putting a collider under the platforms are a game design choice but coloring of them makes it like they are concrete walls at the same level of platforms. You build gameplay around their colliderless design but it has the same tone has other elements so maybe make it a little transparent like a shadow or make it fell like they are distant and behind player. And you may want to stop movement while level is loading, that can be frustrating.

coolestdoggie 2020-04-25 15:49

Great work! I enjoined playing it! 12/10

suchista 2020-04-26 16:28

Man, the atmosphere in this game was amazing! I admire the looks and sounds of it, also a bit of storytelling was a nice touch. A very solid entry, great job!

dextreon 2020-04-27 12:04

This was awesome! The visuals and the audio were perfect. I really enjoyed it, it is a really solid entry for 48h. Congrats!! :ok_hand:

supernapie 2020-04-28 18:56

You did a really good job to stay focused on a small scope and make it a whole and complete thing. The graphics are brilliant and the animation of the little dude is really good. Two minor complaints are: sometimes i couldn't see where i needed to jump, because a cog was in the way and the character felt a little slippery as in it took too long to make him go from running to stopping.

togimaro 2020-05-01 18:59

Really polished game! The animation are sooo good, the character feels great and all the graphical assets are beautiful Only complaints: The respawn animation is a super slow it's a little bit frustrating ahah (and sometime the scene is hard to read) But otherwise good job!
