Cool gameplay. But game is hard.
pretty fun i like the artstyle but the controls are a bit slippery and really fast
nice game. the controls are strange though.
Thanks for testing it out!
really fun game! I just want to keep playing this :v: that light it's pretty hard to catch haha
I quite like the concept and the game play if fun, if not a little hard. The biggest feedback i have is that the enemies are kind of hard to differentiate from the regular terrain. Good job!
good idea! i like it
Nice angle to use this sort of lighting demo scenario as a game concept. Pretty incredible for a weekend. I would love to see some sort of trail being left by your guy or maybe it would grow brighter as you collect the small bois making you safe from dimmer shadows? I dunno. Good stuff tho!
v nice atmosphere. the main frustration I faced is that sometimes you can't tell the good shapes and bad shapes apart easily. It would be cool if more shapes would use their shape to do something specific, like the triangle. maybe the square could charge in the four cardinal directions. good game overall!
@santriptasharma Thanks for the feedback! We just implemented your cardinal direction idea. Might have to clear your browser cache to see the new version.
Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! :two_hearts:
Really cool aesthetic and quite fun gameplay. The shadows and lighting really made the game pop. Overall the game played really well.
My highest score was 58.2. I like the style of game here where you are hunting for light and dodging advances from enemies as you search. The dash move turned out to be very useful for me - I think it would be even better if it had a some UI or ingame element that let me know when my dash was ready to use again after its cooldown period. The enemy types had some good variety, I liked their distinct behaviors and the triangle caught me most often. Sometimes I felt like I would get lost and not know where to look for my next light pickup. Maybe could be addressed by having some sort of indicator that tells you where the closest pellet is, or having the pickups cast more light so we can see them from further away.
Amazing use of shaders
yeah nice shader, good game,i gave high score
I guess you could say the main character frequently gets burnt out hahahaha
I really liked the aesthetic and music of this game. The shader gave the game a very polished look and just made the game very fun to look at. Well done!
This game is best after couple of runs, when you learn the map layout and different behaviours. I think, that lights are still too quick to reliably catch, at least for my taste. I especially like how smooth movement feels.
Good job.
Tougher than expected! I like how you mix walls with enemies in color, I never see them coming unless I move carefully. Very nice.
As feedback, maybe you could add a "wind-up" animation or sound to the charging shapes (triangles). I find otherwise I have no time to react.
This is cool. Love the music!
When you get the hang of it, it's really fun! I would love to see this concept expanded on, to turn it into a sort of metrovania maybe? Or something like that. Very good game, that takes a bit of time to get the hang of!
Hot DAAAAAMN this game is good. And the music! DAAAAAAAAAAAANG.
Nice lighting, really sets the theme well. Found myself tensing up moving round the corner to find a triangle in my face.
Music is done well, lighting is cool and it is fun to play!
This game is spoopy but I keep coming back to it. Love the music!
Great work with the shadows and music. I feel it needs a a clearer goal than surviving as long as you can. Like getting from A to B and collecting the light on the way.
Cool mood! The triangles are pretty nasty! The pace is just right! It was fun!
Loved the music and overall look of the game. Liked how different shapes had different behaviours, personal fav is the pentagon. Few bugs like seeing out the world on the right side of the map. Nice game!
Well done, looks good feels good, very cute and fits the theme great!
Really cool! Challenging is the word! Got to 42s max! I'm curious as to what framework was used.
I could play on a gamepad, with is great, though I wish it worked with the stick and not only the cross!
I like the concept a lot, and I feel like most of the game is implemented really well, too. Overall though I think the concept of those shadows flows better with a slower paced game - It'd add to the mystery of the game if looking harder (or changing your viewing angle to the screen) didn't let you see everything clearly, and I made me just feel stupid for running into obstacles at the speeds that this game seems to be going at. Turning everything black that is in shadow and making everything slower would've been cooler I think.
@huitre Thanks! We used Godot. I didn't realize only the buttons would work. Easy to add the stick support, actually.
Thanks for all the feedback, guys!
I see what you're saying @chaosbrick. Thanks for catching that @hacktrout, fixed it just in time for the end of the jam! My best is 54.9 @mbc
Cool game! I love the lights! I got a high score of about 64! It would be nice to have a local high score saved, but I know that's hard because of time limitations. The pentagon is super annoying, and I feel like moving towards a random location would help players be able to counter it better than it just teleporting. It'd also be cool to have lights change colour, but that's probably not in your aesthetic.
The ambiance in this game was great. The lights and the darkness really felt polished, making the game interesting to both look at and play. The enemy movement patterns was also pretty unique.
However, I found it difficult to determine when some enemies may or may not move. Sometimes, it felt like an obstacle would pulse or teleport in a strange way. If this conveyance was better, I think the game would be great.
The music in this game was great by the way. I really enjoyed it. Good job!
The shadow and light effect are so cool, I like it..
The mix of dark and lights is cool, And when I run always and the light gets big, it is exciting and addicting!!
Polished game. Great art. Well done!
I had trouble reacting in time, since regular walls and enemies were the same color.
I like the shadow effect. Difficult but nice approach to the theme.
This was extremely challenging, not least because the enemies and the shadows from moving look/behave almost the same. Maybe a liiiiittle bit of a tweak to make the enemies easier to spot would be good. I couldn't get past the triangles at all.
Cool lighting effects though.
