Fun and challenging! Gave me getting over it vibes in the best way. Maybe a little too hard for me though - I couldn't beat it :(

Short and sweet game, I enjoyed it! I got to the cake, is that the true ending?
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was restarting the entire game for falling into a pit :(
Great game! I made it to the end.
Never thought I would enjoy tossing a fish around. It was fun, but the game could use some love visually.
Think, red comming in from the sides if your close to dying, your fish rotating and looking based on his direction, that sort of stuff.
Cool game, would love to see more!
Nice game! I thought the platforming was pretty fun and well-implemented. The somewhat unusual physics-based platforming is reminiscent of Getting Over It.
My main point of feedback is that resetting all the way to the beginning seems like a strange choice. It doesn't effect the game too much in it's current state as the level isn't unreasonably long, but if the level were longer I think it would be a more significant problem. Again comparing to Getting Over It, the reason the progress loss works in that game is because it is nonarbitrary: you physically fall down from where you were. In this game, you don't fall down when you trip up--you are teleported back to the beginning. It simply feels arbitrary and so it doesn't feel very good. Especially because this is a game jam setting where people don't tend to spend a lot of time on a game. I think I would have had at least one checkpoint.
The other thing I think is that your water bar should refill faster while you're in a pond. It doesn't seem like making the player wait around in the water is very meaningful--there is some finite amount of water that is required to beat the game, and so you will be forced to wait some amount of time no matter how hard you try. A little bit of this waiting is good--I think sitting there dormant for a few seconds when you've cut it really close is a good way to make the game flow. But I think it could still be a bit faster. You could even make it so if you're closer to a full water bar it refills faster, so that if you're better at completing the platforming sections quickly you're rewarded with less waiting around.
On a more positive note, I liked the sound effects in the game.

@untitled-studios Thanks, glad you enjoyed it anyway
@jusw85 Yes, the cake is the ending, for now at least...
@zeggamer Yeah, it is missing some feedback there, at the time I wasn't really sure what to do with that.
@honey-pony Thanks for the detailed feedback, you made some good points there, definitely something I'll think about when working on the updated version.
I didn't reach the end because starting from the start was a bit too harsh for dying but I did reach the top of the logo!! Flying Fish.png
@hacktrout Nice! Even I haven't managed to do that yet
Very good idea for the theme at hand. Good job!
The design of this game is great! The controls are pretty smooth and the difficulty curve is good. I'm not used to these kinds of games tho, so I was kind of like a fish out of water. Nice job!
How far can you flop your fish? I flew my flopped fish fifteen flops far. Fan-flipping-tastic. Very fun little game.

The art was pretty lack luster and the over all feel would have been underwhelming... If the gameplay wasn't so fun. by simply using physics to toss your fish around combining skill, uncertainty, and risk with having to get to water regularly emerges a lot of moments that feel like genuine decision making. I definitely want to see this polished up a lot more and maybe have the fish flop around too. really fun!
@rextgun Thanks, I will continue to work on this game, as I am currently still learning Godot, and this seems like a great way to do that
I wonder where the fish is going?
That was a fun game! The sound effects and particles made flopping feel satisfying. Even after beating the game (I think?) I kept on flopping because of how fun it felt! I liked the music too. The art is simple but that's not a bad thing! It made the obstacles clear and intuitive to navigate. Good job!
@mhykah Yes, you did reach the end  As for the music, I actually found it by accident when I was looking for a sky background on OpenGameArt, and it just happened to fit perfectly!
Overall is a good game. I really liked the Portal cake reference :D But I not sure is it can be completed, or you just reach the end of the level? Fun fact if you spam click you will be boosted second time. I also think that this game have lack of background, it's not bad but I think maybe some mountains will make it look better.
@crishnate Yes, I agree that the background is very plain, but I actually spent almost half a day of the jam trying to find something better, and ended up sticking to a plain color because it seemed to suit the art style. Still, it's something I'll consider when I'm working on the post-jam version
It feel like the new getting over it has bin bornerd. Liked the game a lot!
Simple, yet fun game. Music was good, controls were good, water reloading time was the correct amount. Art maybe was a little bit lacking. As @crishnate said it would've been better with some background elements, or as i think, a brighter and more lively background color or some variety in dirt and grass tiles, but i can understand considering the time was short. Also i couldn't reach the end, at some point there was a spot too high where i couldn't jump, even after trying many times. Otherwise fun game.
Pretty fun, and surprisingly challenging. I did reach the end after falling in to the first pit about 5 times. Somehow I forgot where it was every time! Then I went down the waterfall looking for some kind of "true" ending. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Some additional art assets would have gone a long way I think, even some simple tufts of grass and/or rocks to make things look more interesting. And maybe some clouds. The music fit well enough. Definitely better than no music at all.
I love this game. The controls are so fun. Its a simple game but i really enjoyed it. Had lots of fun. Good job!
Brilliant idea, even better execution. The game is really fun to play and all the mechanics are wonderfully smooth. The art is good too.
A few things:
- Checkpoints would be good. - The art maybe needs some fleshing out. I think that even a parallax background or some sort of constantly scrolling cloud system would've looked awesome. - It's probably because I have a pathetic attention span but it would've been nice if the water bar increased a lot faster when you were in the water.
Great entry!
@manderxan Totally missed an opportunity there, should have put the cake under the waterfall  @digitallimestone Thanks, nice idea to add parallaxing, I think Godot actually has something specifically for that too...
