LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Lobachevskii by myachin 2014-12-09T18:03:00

Pretty cool. Sound and music would have helped a lot though. The fast enemies were a bit TOO fast for me. :)
Don't know what else to say. I'm a bit of a math-guy myself so I find this interesting. Thumbs up!

PhotoBound by PIXEL^3 2014-12-09T11:29:00

Very nice! Great concept. I usually don't play puzzle games much but this was fun. I like the overall style.
I didn't run into any game breaking bugs, but throwing a crate on the camera made it glitch into the ground, but it popped right back up after removing the crate.

Dads Gold by Crushenator 2014-12-09T12:22:00

Very nice! Interesting concept. Would make for an excellent mini-game in a larger game. Makes me think of Indiana Jones.

Very Dungeon by JaviCepa 2014-12-14T06:11:00

I like this a lot. Really good atmosphere.
Downside being the random generation putting spikes in really unfair places. If you get hurt, it should be your own fault, or you should at least see it coming.

Shinobi Showdown by CustomPhase 2014-12-14T06:03:00

Excellent game! But quite easy.
Make improvements to the opponent, maybe add a limit to the slow motion, throw in a campaign mode and your'e good to go!
Would love to see a variety of opponents, and character customization.

Behind The Fog by fullmontis 2014-12-09T12:35:00

I like this alot! Awesome mood! Nice style, but I feel the graphics could have been somewhat more clear/detailed. Music fits really well. Love it!

PixelFighterZ by Rothens 2014-12-09T12:46:00

Fun game, but sound/music would have been a big plus.
Felt like the red pixels should have been a bit more dangerous. The big ones were hard to avoid, though.

The Robot Gardener of Donut Planet by racebennon 2014-12-09T18:45:00

Fun game, but pretty hard. Kill those weeds ASAP! Could make a great mobile game, with some nice sound and music added.
When I think about it, you could reduce the controls to just one button instead of ASDF to make it a bit simpler.

The Fast and the Flatulent by Drtizzle 2014-12-10T15:19:00

*shits pants laughing*
This is AWESOME! And HARD!
Everything fits together nicely, so not really anything bad to say about this one.

Man on the Field by Double Zero One Zero 2014-12-09T22:50:00

Really great! Got to day 11 on my first try. I really don't have anything bad to say about this game. Nice graphics, great music, easy to understand. Thumbs up!

The Sacred Glyphs by mokesmoe 2014-12-09T10:37:00

Excellent! Reminds me of Conway's Game of Life. Fun to mess around with and experiment. Would make a perfect iOS/Android game. Perhaps with more combinations? I would definitely try for that, free or sold. :)

Color Company by Vulture Tamer 2014-12-09T11:06:00

Wow, seems pretty hard, but fairly easy to understand. Not my kind of game, but I'll rate it fairly. :)
Feels like the spreading "area" could have been made easier to make out.
Also I clearly lost the first try, but the game didn't say that I lost.
I didn't like the "spray paint" style and would have preferred more like an "air brush", if that makes sense.

I Am Technician by Murchurl 2014-12-14T05:52:00

Awesome game. Thumbs up!
Touch up the graphics, but keep the style.
Add features like buying new stock and upgrades, different sized motherboards and layouts, heatsinks/fans and replaceable powersupply.
Perhaps a customer satisfaction rating and the ability to get a raise.
Then I would say you have a seller!
Good luck if you intend to take this furter! :)

SheeBall by dieblume86 2014-12-09T13:34:00

Not sure what to say. Not my type of game, but I will rate it fairly none the less. Pretty well made, humorous air hockey style game. Overall nice.

Beams! by DiegoMustache 2014-12-09T11:56:00

Very good! Would have been nice with more levels, I finished it pretty fast. And it was a bit easy.
Some sound and music would have been great.
Were the controls supposed to be diagonal? That was a bit weird, but doesn't really affect my rating.

Rainbow Warriors by abclive 2014-12-09T12:11:00

Good game, but the physics felt a bit glitchy. Music was good but LOUD.
Had to try it alone, but I can see this game being pretty fun with friends.

Centipede by RetributionStudios 2014-12-09T12:39:00

Very basic. Not much to say. Sound/music would have been nice, as well as more enemy patterns. I like these types of games, but like I said, it's very basic.

Much Adoge about Chocolate by Arpeggiatura 2014-12-09T10:51:00

Interesting game, though I feel like I'm missing something. A bit hard to make out the graphics, more contrasting shades would have been nice. Feels like some music would have been good to have at least.

A Vengeful God by 2Bit 2014-12-09T12:54:00

Fun game. Hilarious sound effects! Wish I could zoom out slightly, but that would make it too easy. Not sure what else to say.

Hunt The Yeti by Elisée and friends 2014-12-09T11:17:00

Why no Craftstudio? Just kidding. Excellent game! Good difficulty, nice graphics, fitting music.
Hard to find anything bad about it, only thing was that the shop didn't work on my first try, don't know if it was a bug or just me doing something wrong.
If it was my type of game I might even pay for it!

The Biggest Snowman by refreshgames 2014-12-09T11:41:00

Not my kind of game, but nice none the less. I could see my brother liking this.
Well made, but could have used some music. Controls felt a bit sluggish at first but feels better when you get used to it. I would have liked to have a bit longer projectile range, and a bit less throw delay.

Snowman's Land: SNOVERCHILL by RHY3756547 2014-12-09T22:40:00

Extremely fun and addicting! Awesome music! My highest rating so far. :)
Only "bad" thing is when two players spawn inside each other, but that hardly takes away from the FUN!
Also I suck at aiming. D:

Me And My Horse by Manderxan 2020-04-23T13:23:56Z

@ponypen I chose between Puppy, Hamster, Cow and Horse, but Horse felt like the perfect fit!

Me And My Horse by Manderxan 2020-04-23T13:39:09Z

@lee-beever I might know where you got stuck, now that I think about it. Not sure if it's serious enough, but I'll fix it if I do get around to making a patched version.

Me And My Horse by Manderxan 2020-04-24T16:16:30Z

@nurk Thanks! When I made the music it just came out perfect right away. That almost never happens, and in a previous Ludum Dare I even gave up after failing miserably with the music.

Entropia by Kaisean Games 2020-05-02T11:04:29Z

Excellent little game, enjoyed it and then I died of radiation because I failed to check the value. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Cute graphics. The music fits very well and gives it a chill mood. Plays nicely and in a familiar and easy to understand way.

Hostage Escape by Maksym 2020-05-07T14:03:20Z

Excellent entry with nice art direction. The music felt a bit off at first for some reason, but by the time I beat the game it had grown on me.

Plays well, and it's definitely the kind of game I would expect on mobile, though I don't play mobile games personally. And I prefer Zachtronics-style, puzzle games. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think I had a bug where one pistol cost double (even after supposed fix?), probably related to my broken mouse that keeps double-clicking. Still beat that level with just the one pistol though! Not sure if it was intentional or not.

Fox! Hen! Bag! by 0x01F0 2020-05-07T15:03:21Z

I R GRAINS

Nicely made little adventure slash riddle! I like when simple art styles are used well. The only complaints I can think of was rather low sound volume, and falling off the mountains just shoots you instantly down into the skybox, having to quit and restart. Unless I missed a reset button? Would have loved an easter egg down at the cave. The skeleton was great though!

Hive Preserver by _for_science 2020-04-23T16:30:25Z

Tried to run this on Linux via steam proton, but it fails to see subfolders with spaces in the name, so it won't work. Looks interesting though, reminds me of Natural Selection. I might try again at a later time and check if Lutris can handle it.

A Guy and his Princess by neowhoru 2020-05-07T13:36:12Z

Nice little game, but far too easy (as many have said already.) Nice art, but the music was very noticeably amateurish, but at least there WAS music.

Interesting take on the theme, and if it was my game I would probably have had the princess be part of solving puzzles, similar to Princess Ruto in Ocarina of Time.

Brainstorm by Shakedimus 2020-05-07T14:26:55Z

Pretty cool idea, but I found it difficult and few connections made sense, and even less sense when they seemed like a good fit and still got pushed away. "Cat" and "Likeable" were apparently not a good connection, but maybe you are not a cat person. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Some simple music and sounds would have helped alot.

If this was a full release game I would probably have preferred a more casual approach where you just make connections with the mouse at your own pace, instead of aiming and shooting with a time limit. That "alchemy" mobile game comes to mind, if you know it.

Life of ITman by Bozont 2020-04-23T14:28:12Z

Got 600809. :sunglasses:

Very stressful, which I would call a success. Plays well and I quickly learned to grab fire extinguishers without stopping. Nice art and fitting soundeffects, though the music got annoying after a while. Especially since I was able to keep going for quite a while.

Fun, but I wouldn't want that job IRL. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Fish Flop by OgelGames 2020-04-23T12:45:00Z

Pretty fun, and surprisingly challenging. I did reach the end after falling in to the first pit about 5 times. Somehow I forgot where it was every time! Then I went down the waterfall looking for some kind of "true" ending. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Some additional art assets would have gone a long way I think, even some simple tufts of grass and/or rocks to make things look more interesting. And maybe some clouds. The music fit well enough. Definitely better than no music at all.

Cheat Or Die by Kanonix 2020-04-23T14:03:30Z

Pretty dark! But in a good way. Great art, and the soundeffects boosts the mood very well.

I gave up in frustration after a while though, as it was not very clear exactly when it was possible to pass the answers around, and sometimes the supervisor turned around just at the last second. I think I successfully passed two answers all the way. Projecting his actions slightly ahead of time would have been great.

I still gave it a fair score though! This would make an excellent minigame within a bigger game about Mathilde.

Save The Dinosaur by LungTakumi 2020-05-09T05:53:37Z

This reminds me that I need to practice my typing skills! A bit embarrassing coming from someone calling himself a programmer. :smirk:

I can definitely imagine this as a full release, with polished up and expanded gameplay, and graphics (particularly the letters), and some simple story mode. Would have been even better with more appropriate, cuter sounds to match the visual style!

Don't think I found any bugs, except MAYBE an "O" keypress failed to register, though it MIGHT have been a "D". :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Rough Ship by WobbleBlocks 2020-05-09T06:04:55Z

As a Linux user I have found it to be too much of a bother to get some of these windows-only games running, and it's mostly because of small inconveniences like spaces in the filename. Pretty sure it can be done ofcourse, but it just takes too long to do. A bit ironic that I had to publish my own game as windows only because the html5 build broke!

Anyway, I had this on my list of games to play and rate, but unfortunately I can't. Sorry!

Next Ludum Dare I might prepare a windows virtual machine for this purpouse.

Earth 2.0 by AryanJumani 2020-04-23T13:18:15Z

300 saved, first try! :sunglasses:

Graphics were well made, but the pop-in made it look kinda janky. I'd suggest an alpha fade-in. And steering the ship would have felt better if the tilting animation was smoothed out instead of snapping back and forth. Also, improve the music in the post-jam version.

Otherwise pretty fun and just the right amount of play time.

Mis Vacas by sodap 2020-04-23T12:20:15Z

Fun. Nice music. Great simple retro art, just the right amount of work for a jam. Beat it with only a few deaths. No complaints!

The Dark Cave by Tom Stephenson 2020-04-23T13:01:34Z

Pretty cool. Good use of simple graphics, and great mood. I beat it in one go though, and I never had to use the throw feature. Since my pickups were maxed I just bumped one of those little squares down the ledge toward the spider instead. Still gave me a bit of a scare when it started chasing me as I got further along!

A minor complaint would be that the splat sounds got a little repetitive.
