LD24 — Evolution

Keepers of The Harmony by chunkyguy 2012-08-27T07:14:00

"Check with the developer to make sure Evolution works with this version of OS X."

I'm running Mountain Lion.

End Humanity! by SFX 2012-08-30T00:47:00

It's a pretty common game dynamic but I found myself playing it for quite a while. Well done. I thought the smoke particle effect was quite nice.

Microraptor by robcozzens 2012-08-27T07:05:00

I found this quite rewarding to play around with. I urge you to turn it into a full game!

CritterLab by berkano 2012-08-27T03:47:00

I couldn't get this running on OSX. Error from my Java Console is:
org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Could not get the JAWT interface
It's a well documented error so hopefully it's a quick fix and I can try this later.

Monsieur Evolution by monsieur_nez 2012-08-30T00:54:00

Yeah controls no good for me on Mac.

Winding of Isaac by TehSkull 2012-08-30T00:50:00

Can you recommend how one can get stared in Android development? I can program in Java so I wouldn't mind knowing about tutorials, books etc.

Yellow Dog by Barry Abrams 2012-09-01T04:10:00

I didn't enjoy 'playing' this very much but I think it would be a great game that you could set and forget. check on your dog once a day. That sort of thing.

DrumBeat Evolution!!!! by Crushenator 2012-08-27T09:50:00

I'm so pleased that people like it! I added a JAR file as an alternative download. It will run in a Frame if people struggle to get the Applet working.

Darwin's Turtle Race Challenge by endermath 2012-08-30T00:26:00

This was awesome. I used my MacBook Pro but if windows users are determined to play it they could jump on torrentz.eu and search for a Mountain Lion VMWare Image and VMware.

Harry no te mueras by drumsoverbogota 2012-08-30T02:52:00

I used Netbeans for my game so I was able to compile this. I painstakingly used google translate to see what was going on in game. I actually thought it was pretty cool.

Abstract Legends by DragonDrumstick 2012-08-27T11:50:00

Only having 48 hours is evident in this game but the basic gameplay elements would go great with some creature animations and stuff. Further development FTW.

Passive by Suffolk and Clever 2012-08-30T00:42:00

I got it working. I was quite pleased to see Slick2D in action as I've played around with it before. May the gaussian blur be with you...

_Evolve by Tyler 2012-08-30T01:02:00

I really liked this entry. It reminded me a lot of Dwarf Fortress with the detail of temperature and terrain. I found myself wondering what kind of environment the animals would want in order to thrive.

Lepidopter Attack by dwrensha 2012-08-30T01:08:00

This was cool. I felt like I needed an air hockey or brick breaker style of paddle to hit the balls around at the moths a bit more. It was annoying not being able to manipulate the lateral movement.

The Legend of Marilia by Doft 2012-08-30T02:55:00

Cool gameplay. I love these retro 3D games. It reminded me of Delver or 'Judith by Terry Kavanagh'. Have to be honest in saying I didn't pick up on how this relates to Evolution.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

DoomZone by CoolChesire 2014-12-09T10:13:00

I liked the graphics effects. Had a pretty good time playing this.

Dads Gold by Crushenator 2014-12-08T17:08:00

I accidentally got the ratings categories mixed up. Woops.

Rover by Alic Szecsei 2014-12-11T08:17:00

I liked it. It's a big game. I've played other big unreal entries though and they are all pretty big.

Mr Snowman Visits Forbidden Temple by voxel 2014-12-08T17:18:00

I find the technical proficiency of this intimidating. 11/10 will rate again.

Network Programming by hissssssssss 2014-12-09T12:13:00

Wow. I actually beat the game and feel very proud about it.

Knock 'Em Trees by purplelilgirl 2014-12-08T17:27:00

I like it. You tried for the compo I know that feel.

Fungus War by skonkan 2014-12-09T12:48:00

Great work easy to understand.

Toy workshop by StMatn 2014-12-11T01:47:00

I quite enjoyed this. I was very determined to win but I kept getting distracted with other things and running out of money.

Click For Dragons! by vinull 2014-12-11T02:26:00

I got to level 22 and wiped. I quite enjoyed this one.

Gone Pondin' by xhunterko 2014-12-11T05:42:00

This reminds me of that electric level in alleycat.

Crowns by Geti 2014-12-09T11:12:00

Cool. good foundation for something fun. An animated battle chess type thing would be cool.

Simple Geometry by olligobber 2014-12-11T02:00:00

Cool. Port seemed to work just fine for me.

I wanna be that pixel! by StrayCat 2014-12-11T06:03:00

I'm a fan of vvvvvv so I was into this. Fun times.

Kerfuffle by rabbit 2014-12-09T11:08:00

Not bad.

Sad Little War-Bot by sorlok 2014-12-09T05:59:00

The narrative in between rounds I enjoyed very much. The explosion sounds cause the music to go quiet which annoyed me because it's good music. " "You're an ancient warbot with abstruse motivations. You have no place in our enlightened society." lol

Bounds of Space by Thought Reactor 2014-12-10T23:43:00

Cool mate. I felt like it was easy to control. Nothing annoyed me just cruisy gameplay.

Screen Escape by bessdlan 2014-12-09T10:39:00

Very original idea. I quite liked it.

I love you, no matter what! by Team-KwaKwa 2014-12-09T11:44:00

I've voted a lot and this is my favorite game so far. Very deep.

Silian Rail by Warboys 2014-12-11T11:40:00

Original. I quite liked it one of my favourites.

Daddy Ghoul by Maxom 2014-12-11T00:03:00

Yeah cool graphics mate I liked that. It was not too dark for me.

Attack of the cybernetic aliens by mathias234 2014-12-09T05:37:00

I kept trying to strafe. I would have chosen a better colour pallete but other than that I like the game. I actually had a look at your source code your coding is very good. I forgot how much coding work is needed for a game like this.

Mind Traveller by Ogniok 2014-12-10T22:59:00

I enjoyed that. I've always liked custom levels for FPS games were you have to jump on narrow platforms etc. Fun game one of favourites so far.

Landscaped Confinement by MoonlightBomber 2014-12-11T02:04:00

I'm notorious for clicking through dialogue but I read all of this.

Forsaken by sarfish 2014-12-09T03:35:00

I liked this quite a lot. Best illustration I've seen so far. I felt like I was just clicking around randomly. I felt like I needed a visual queue for what I was looking for next.

Zombie City by Samm 2014-12-09T05:43:00

Nice. took me a second to figure it out and then I started to really get into it. I'm actually going to favorite this in my inspiration folder.

PixelSim by Ozcr 2014-12-09T01:52:00

I thought I had the game all figured out in the first few seconds but I felt compelled to keep playing and make a whole city. I did not think it was slow paced at all. Just need some decent cash flow!

ZoomZone by Manderxan 2014-12-09T12:03:00

I quite liked this. I found myself not assessing but having a decent game of it.

Ice Blocks by Troilk 2014-12-11T02:11:00

I'm a puzzle game fan. This was cool.

Guiding Light by csaunders 2014-12-11T02:07:00

Yolo I downloaded Love. I enjoyed the game.

Screen Protector by Megapiemanphd 2014-12-09T22:58:00

I did like the music

Penguins Can't Fly by TriSquare 2014-12-09T02:49:00

I wonder if you could add a gameplay mechanic like you can build defences with the snow coming back down.

Roids by kburkhart84 2014-12-09T02:05:00

Quite cool. I found the controls a bit sensitive.

Road to Heaven by frenzyasii 2014-12-09T01:39:00

I quite enjoyed this mate. I feel like I want to see it as a full game now.

Lull by WatercressStudios 2014-12-09T04:47:00

Is this an original music piece? I loved it. The story was also very interesting to me. "visual novel set in a town where sound has ceased to exist." It takes quite an imagination to come up with something like that.

Defender by MatejaS 2014-12-11T11:19:00

I made my first game when I was 13. Glad you are using Java . Cool game.

super touch by Indieindio 2014-12-09T05:23:00

Couldn't get it working on my Samsung Galaxy simply from running the file. I did manage to get it working in the Android Emulator that comes with the SDK. Glad I got to hear the music on my PC.

Razor Dodgor ( Razer Dodger) by shotty456 2014-12-11T01:56:00

Took me a bit to figure out why it wouldn't work. Hard games are fun games I always say.

Grandpa's Grid by NoGrapes 2014-12-09T02:11:00

I liked this mate. Great narrative to spice up the mechanic and the music was pretty neat.

King's Defense by Giezu 2014-12-09T11:19:00

The title screen is nice. Pretty cool for 15 hours but I was not a fan of the game play.

Channel Surfing by MentalBlockGaming 2014-12-09T03:23:00

I liked that it was not too easy. Better to make it too hard than too easy. I did notice that you could stand on the side of platforms.

[mεks] by spassfabrik 2014-12-18T05:21:00

This is one of my favourites. The graphics have that indie charm that you really cant find anywhere else. 11/10 would pet again.

An Icy Night In Snowman's Land by Jacic 2014-12-10T23:27:00

This is one of my favourites so far. The background music didn't get old trying to figure out the puzzles.

PartyGround by ghRibacki 2014-12-11T02:13:00

Server seems to be down will try again later.

Owl'd Hurricrash by BarrensZeppelin 2014-12-11T00:06:00

Wow this was intense. tough gameplay but I always say better too hard than too easy.
