Sound effects were priceless, combat was a bit fiddly
As you had stated, this game does test your patience. With the control so spread out, it was very difficult to do much. In all honesty, it felt like a more difficult QWOP, but it seems like you were going for that. I will admit that it was kind of funny to see the snowman fall apart.
Played it through to the end. At first, I had no idea what I was doing, but I got the hang of things over time. Great game!
Interesting concept.
If you didn't make the audio, you'll need to opt out of being rated on it :)
Great, I liked the ability to melt the snowmen with the huge suns you could collect. All in all, I think this will be a game I'll play more and more of as time passes.
A nice and tight, simple platformer. The creature sounds were cute and it was very dumb (in a cute way) how they just floated around you. My only qualm is that it could've been longer, but it is a game jam after all.
Interesting concept, though I was quite confused initially on what I was supposed to do. Then I ran out of food, and I kept wondering how to get food. If the game was explained a little better (e.g. "you only have a limited supply of food so ration it"), then I might enjoy this game a bit more.
For a very simple and small game, it was certainly fun. A couple of friends and I hopped on and spent some time playing. The gameplay concept of your health decreasing as you shoot is actually pretty novel and interesting to play with.
I joked with my team about a screen door game. Hilarious implementation of the theme.
Pretty cool.
Song is catchy, but gameplay is somewhat hard to adjust to.
You should include a game mode where you are the pencil. That's what I thought was going on at first :P
It would be cool if the screen stayed dark the whole time, and if there was no timer on the game. Good way to match the theme, though!
Got to 77 on my first go. Interesting and addicting concept, and the music fits nicely with the pace of the gameplay!
Very charming take on the theme! The shaky camera and strange fire-button were hard to adjust to, though.
Cool little game! Couldn't figure out the knife, though.
Made it to "Onslaught". Then the rage set in. Great implementation of the theme.
A pretty fun little platformer that reminds me of flash games like Give Up. Controls are very tight and the challenges are pretty fair. Good job!
More of a difficulty arc would help, I think-- I finished shooting the asteroids before the end even came. The recoil from shooting was a really nice touch, made life harder sometimes and was a useful tool at others.
Interesting concept. The controlls are just sensitive enough to make it challenging.
I really liked this, although the obstacles were placed a bit too close together for me to properly discern their colour and react accordingly. Good idea though!
Creepy as hell. Good job on that. I did, however, experience a game breaking bug. I was sent back the the starting room, but was placed on top of the dresser-thing. This caused me to be too high up to fit through the door again.
Controls are a bit hard to pick up at first, but overall, an awesome concept, and executed masterfully!
That was quite a fun game. Nothing like killing a bunch of snowmen.
I wish there could've been more to it. It's fun, but just too simple.
Good game idea, although the default window size made it very hard to see your character, let alone any enemies/obstacles you may run into. Also, it would've been better with music. But I really like the concept.
I liked the guitar strumming sounds. A charming entry.
Fun little game! Controlling the cat's movements feels a bit sluggish, though.
I wish there were a bit more substance to it.
Very clever and addicting!
The most charming turtle I've ever had the pleasure of killing repeatedly! Great game!
It's really interesting, and quite creepy. Neat-o little thing you've made.
Hard to tell if there are any rewards for shooting the bad guy or consequences for being hit by him. It's difficult to aim with the mouse. This might need more work to be truly playable.
The first time I made a phone call I actually choked laughing. I think it'd help if enemies felt a little more threatening-- it'd make phone calls really stressful and hectic.
The player doesn't really get enough strategic input. It wasn't always clear what effect my choices were having on the game.
Terribly clever. I love how many tactical choices there are to make with only two inputs. I was trying to go around and sample everything, but I think I'll just play this for a while.
Interesting, but the UI really gets in the way, and descriptions don't always seem to match what buildings and units actually do.
Seems like it could be fun, it just needs to be polished more.
It's a really fun platformer. The sound effects were a bit too loud, though that doesn't distract me from playing. Great game!
Awesome little game! Although if you position yourself in the corner, you basically become impervious to the lasers and can easily win.
Cool concept, although having object collision would make the game better.
I liked the idea behind it. I would definitely like to play a longer version of this, even though the game was bugging out a bit in the graphics department.
Took a couple tried to get past level 1, and the farthest I made it was level 3. Good puzzle mechanics!
Unfortunately can't get over the awkward control scheme.
Quite a fun and frustrating game, though it really reminds me of the current trend of Simulator games. Just a note: it seems to run unplayably slow on Chrome, but it works perfectly on Firefox.
Cute, fun, definitely something I'd like to see elaborated upon.
This is a nice take on the Tower Defense! The only problem I have is that the game practically plays itself in the early waves.
I really enjoy when a game like this has smooth controlls, and you pulled it off very well!
@Wampus Hey Kyle here, the coder of this game. Glad you liked it! I also happen to be from Vancouver. I agree that we're very lovely :P
@Crushenator Hey, Kieren here (Co-composer alongside Ben), and thanks for the kind words! I wasn't sure if the atonal piece was going to go over well with people, but it seems like it did!
@Victory Garden - then, have you played A New and Beautiful World, which was a short VN that one of our members (Electro / TKia_) submitted for Ludum Dare 30 back in August? (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=6463)
We'd recommend checking out the post-compo version, if you haven't.
I really liked it! Cool and punchy gameplay, well-done and professional-grade graphics, cool music, this seems really polished!
This is such a charming little game, I only wish it had more substance to it!
Quite fun, though it's difficult to catch the green orb even on my 5.5" phone.
I liked the concept, but Valkyrella is too big to dodge the rockets, although I haven't gotten my head around the "singing" thing. All in all, decent game.
Ought to work on the sound-- picking up a bomb powerup is pure torture, since everything explodes at once and it's really loud.
Addictingly simple gameplay, although the music is a bit loud by default.
Very interesting concept that was also fun to play. Having to balance gathering snow, killing bunnies, and outright stopping the bunnies from reaching 20 on the screen made for a enjoyable experience. Well done!
Charming little game. Quite difficult, but entertaining, nonetheless!
Fun and clever, but seems to have ignored the theme.
I wish I had someone to play with. Maybe add a single player option?
Probably the most clever use of the theme I've seen so far.
Good fun and a good concept! Only problem I have is that when you die, it sort of snowballs (heh) and you continue dying until you run out of lives.
Needs some polish such as a back to menu button and some more clear tutorials, but otherwise a good game!
Enjoyable game you've made here!
Overall, the game felt quite nice. It fit the theme well. The default controls worked fine for me.
The design is simple, but it works. It was fun to play, however it felt imbalanced in some areas. The rocket weapon seemed to work much better than the others. Though, as time progressed, you couldn't afford to make mistakes, which makes sense.
The graphics were very simplistic, reminiscent of old arcade games. Audio fit, but wasn't particularly outstanding.
The game could use some work in areas, but I found it enjoyable in any case.
