Can we get any clue about an eventual ending / mechanic of this game ? Or is just a metaphor of "alone" ?
The game doesn't start on firefox... Remember that you are allowed to tweak your game for this kind of critical error.
Not working =/
Thanks for the feedback :)
The game is mostly missing some sounds, a music and animation for the main character... for sure. I also think that an improved game-design would have avoided the ambiguous "water jump".
Concerning the programming, I made this engine "from scratch" based on previous little game projects of my own. (you can check this one for instance: http://www.kongregate.com/games/yoshh/samsara ).
Finally, I'm quite bad in pure story telling games... especially because I put the writing part at the extreme end of the compo (combined with a non-native tongue awful style).
Bonus mood for the texts.
Too "hard" (or maybe not enough because I lost)
Good game ! However I got a bug: while going through the purple matter, my character was not able to fly anymore.
Bravo :D
Nice graphics! I think your idea is more or less inspired by Bastion (floating islands, kind of narration describing the main character actions and so on). I would have been nice to do not have to retry at the very beginning of the zone when dying. Good job !
This deserves a five stars for FUN !
Simple but so clever concept.
For those who get stuck near end levels (a key stroke move everyone), the easiest way to win is to keep on key pressed to clear the scene, and then just see which one seems to obey.
"You survived 35H" - That's easy I'm french.
Is that a sad ending ?
Cute little game, and thanks for the DIABLO III FINGERS TRAINING =D
This is worth 5 stars for the music, its lyrics and the sound synchronization.
HINT for those still stuck: "The stars are the key" ^^
Nice concept! I was just disappointed when I figured out that there was not a lot of thing to do in the game (unless I missed something important...).
Very nice game ! Your last entry was already amazing and well this one is still promising. I'm still a fan of the graphical style, I would only reproach the game resolution and poor SFX (missing music or something for stronger feelings). Nice story telling btw.
Félicitations ;)
SPOILER/TIP: For people stuck with the park/broom, have a look to the wooden case.
Really loved the ending :D
Great mood !
This game is clearly impressive for a 48 hours entry, however I'd mainly criticize the fact that you don't go further with the "mind control" concept.
Another weak point: it's missing some sounds and ambient musics for a better experience.
A very interesting thing is also how the main character is actually moving, unsteady and slowly...
Very nice game ! Just a bug I had: the ship seems to disappear sometimes... I basically used the center of the screen as a reference but it's harder for sure... Good job :D
Thanks for the comments =)
Indeed time was missing for polishing and working on a complete level... Since I don't want to cheat, this "short" version will unfortunately stay as the final submission. (I will maybe propose an extended one since it's not so hard to put content in a level but I don't want it to influence in the votes ^^)
@Rabbits... The only problem with that are neophyte people who don't see the keyboard comparison, but yeah I totally agree with what you say about all these endless "how to play" tutorials. Plus, I saved time doing so.
@Jezzamon: Because the main concept was quite commonplace, I firstly tried to add a music rhythmic thing to the game.
However, current web browsers coupled with HTML5 aren't good enough for the moment to handle something sufficiently precise with sounds.
So we can say that "sound musical" is at least what I could reach :p
Damn the soundtrack is really awesome ! How did you manage so many musics with such a quality ? Deserve a Audio 5-stars for that. The main reproach is unfortunately the ship hitbox :/
I love the concept but it's quite hard and checkpoints would have been great :P (For instance, you just lose your total score but you can try again without retrying everything from start).
Man this game ROCKS. Really funny!
Too bad for the pieces of graphic missing : /
I got the same than eShredder. Is it like a big joke or am I missing something? (captain obvious please)
Fun but quite hard :X
Well for a first time it's more than good! The music is excellent, the 2d engine is working and the graphics are nice!
Two weak points:
- The level design is too linear
- I suppose that the switches that activate the blocks and change the level is your interpretation of the theme. I think you could have been further here ;)
Pretty graphics and smooth animations... I like it!
The concept is damn good but well the game would deserve to be a little more polished.
Good job guys!
I really like the retro-style aspect of this game. Also, the evolution system is pretty smart and fun. Nice game!
Really a good concept! My only reproach would be that trees should throw more EvoGems because there's a time you clearly miss some :/
Man I loved the fish face :D
It's a good start, could be fun to work on it again and try to improve your concept :)
Nice concept, maybe AI balancing would have been nice... but lack of time is cruel :P
Unfortunately my framerate is damn too low to play : (
(Maybe a post-compo no high-config version?)
Always nice to find some interesting interpretations of the theme :)
Well done! I really like the king of generated song that you got when mixing multiple piece quickly.
Also, on the last puzzle, you can simply only move the black squares and avoid any complexity. Is it something you wanted? (A scoring system would prevent this trick I suppose)
Generative music gameplay ftw !
You're playing the nostalgic string :D
Controls are a bit tight but that's good overall!
Really nice concept. Would be a nice mobile app!
Visually and musically speaking, it's really incredible. However the gameplay is badly poor and unchallenging. Certainly a lack of time I suppose!
+1 for the game name and description
If we put apart the wonderful graphics, there's something really interesting that goes beyond the game itself. The evolution here depends on how players are actually playing, and this is huge.
I only regret the very limited gameplay tough.
The game itself is cool but I don't see the link with 'Evolution'. Also, you should have tried to compose a little bit longer music. (loop is too short!)
Ok guys I switched the audio library to Buzz (http://buzz.jaysalvat.com/) that I should have REALLY used before.
Firefox doesn't support MP3, therefore I'm using the OGG format, however, I still have HTTP 206 status. (And not anymore with Safari).
I will try to find a workaround for Firefox users (the best I can imagine so far is to play it locally with .wav music files). I'll let you know soon.
Also @gnx: I reduced the sideways motion a little bit :)
Thanks for the feedback and enjoy!
In 5 hours that's something already remarkable. But you can feel that the gameplay is clearly missing some diversity ^^
Man I almost had a heart attack when I discovered how to start the game (Should have read instructions first >,<).
Anyway... it's pretty good and really addictive. I don't necessarily see the link with the theme 'evolution' though.
Something that would be awesome is a scoring system!
What a game... Jesus!
Ah ah so fun. The main weak point is clearly the character's controls. (The damn jump is too tight!).
Also as you said, it's quite hard :D
Nice little game with good Graphics and Audio.
Well done!
You guys should definitely post something. Even though it's unfinished, out of the regular delay, or not as good as you expected, it's too bad to give up when you seems to have a playable content.
Well that's an amazing HTML5 game. I really really liked the hand-written style of the graphics, put in that a old-fashion scroll.
Good job!
I don't have a mouse right now so it was quite a pain to score anything. However I like this puzzle concept and it could certainly make a mobile game :P
I don't really know what to say. This game looks really great but is unfortunately unfinished. You have done something great so far, that's a very good point. Try to continue this game later and post an update on the home page :)
Amazing art!! This game was a bit hard to play with a touchpad, but overall it's pretty solid. I was a bit confused during the boss fight, after many death and what I thought could be the death of the boss itself, the game stopped and asked me to press <1>. Is that the normal ending?
Great job!
Ahah that was unexpected. I guess this is your first attempt in game-making? If so, that's a good start. You managed to finish something simple & fully playable. Next time, you should try to add some interactivity using something simple like jquery or similar to manipulate the text, form etc. (Great example: http://candies.aniwey.net/)
Nice little game, a bit hard to control at first, but then it gets fun to play with your mecha. Bonus points for the mood as well!
Also, this game had a proportionally-inverse difficulty curve. At first you have all the enemies shooting at you like crazy... then it's all quiet :D
It was kind of funny to see the EXIT_FOUND text through the walls ^^
This is Wario Ware hehe :D
I really like these kind of games. Maybe the game could benefit from randomly generated patterns to avoid seeing the same thing over and over.
Otherwise it's a pretty good job... congrats!
I really LOVED the particles all around. Mixed with the relaxing music, it's just creating this unique & great atmosphere. I surprised myself just looking at the particles fade away, it's really beautiful.
Only complain: The shooting noise is kind of too loud and doesn't really match the others elements of the game...
Good job and cool video btw.
At first I was unsure about my hero hitting zombies but by getting close enough it seemed to do the trick!
This game was actually really fun! Even if quite short, with an approximative gameplay and camera, no sounds etc. I had lots of fun!
Good job for a 48h compo!
1.
(But 5 in humor :D)
Cute little game that exploits the concept in an interesting and original way. Wished it was a bit longer, but that's already a great performance given the short deadline :)
The music in the title screen is so epic! Very hard game, would it be possible to make a mouse gameplay version?
*faceplant*
No kidding, this was a risky bet, but I loved it! Really cool in its simplicity and humor :)
Such a great concept!
A game made with Construct 2? Great!
Really cool concept. It's indeed pretty amazing to see how much you could do in 48h, and that includes what most people don't have time to do: polishing!
My only reproach would be that sometimes, it's hard to do the jumps between the mines because the distance between the two guys is getting larger and larger (in an unexpected way)...
Also, is the double jump effect something you thought about when implementing the gameplay?
Good job!
I just finished the game. It has an awesome atmosphere created by both astonishing visual effects and an intriguing musical background. Everything here reminds us of a dream (dark screen, recurrent flashes, déjà-vus and finally the big fall). However, I might have missed what was the link with the theme here.
*Spoilers*
Endless scrolling: Try to get rid of your companion.
4 Doors: Listen carefully to the 4 sounds.
Déjà-vu: If you were in the kitchen as visited previously, you could see a door.
For some reason I knew this game would scare me, and it did as soon as the light s changed to the purple color. Really loved the atmosphere! (sounds effects and lights).
Too bad it's unfinished, but for a first time on Unity, all my congratulations, it's a great achievement :)
Great little game, nice graphics and the story got me somewhat hooked :)
There's a little something wrong with the scrolling parallax, not sure what it is but it makes me kind of sick :D
At first one could expect some newbie made game with nothing to play with, but on the contrary, we hit a pretty cool little game, with a big world to explore, powerups, a precise gameplay and secrets! It reminded me of Knitt story, that I really love.
The final boss was unfortunately too fast for me, but I'd say that this game deserves some good ratings :)
Congratulations!
This game is a good start, to me it would need some heavy polishing and some additional gameplay concepts to make it more arcade-ish and fun to play. Additionally, it's kind of hard to estimate what will happen when you jump because of the perspective.
Nice little game :)
The gameplay is a bit approximative but overall this game is so great! Graphics, Audio, etc. all very polished :)
Really fun! It's just very hard to survive face to these giant and powerful gorillas :D
One weak point would be the AI, as hard as it can be to work on a functional & smart AI in 72h, there is still a situation during which the bots get stuck with the ball and you can't do anything because your poor cat is way to weak to tackle or anything :P
Nice entry! Even though the concept has been seen before, you still managed to make the game look pretty and fun. Good job ;)
Unique and very interesting game mechanic... I'm going to recommend this game to some friends because it's really worth it!
Nice drawings :)
Not sure how it fits the theme, but it was fun to play! I also like the fact that the opponents are actually falling the same way the hero does... it somehow equilibrates the game a bit more given how hard it is already :D
This game is huge! (universe etc.)
Not sure I see the direct link with the theme though.
All my congratulations ;)
Awesome game!
That was balsy. 5 stars
Really addictive, as others mentioned before me, it reminded me of cookie clicker too ^^
Great humor and excellent music... I wish it was possible to progress without having to click like crazy all the time :D
Gorgeous graphics & great music: high ratings for that!
On the other hand, as soon as I read what would be the game mechanic, I was quickly scarred that its limit would show up pretty soon... And it is. To me, the game gets boring as soon as you realize that you are on rail track, with limited choice and repetitive actions... too bad!
Anyhow, this game is a huge achievement in many way, it's hard to deny it :) Great job!
I think we got a new puzzle concept!
You could really monetize this cool game by porting it on mobile! (even though I would hate to sit next to someone playing this game :D).
Back to the LudumDare context, I would mainly criticize the fact you don't necessarily respect the them... Or maybe because it's only one strike?
Great job!
Great music + really fun = awesome. Too bad it's so hard to move around within all these guys :P
Maybe the theme could have been explored slightly differently... it's a bit easy to just say 'you have only one chance' ^^
Still a very good little game ;)
At first I was pretty reluctant to play this game, but once you reach level 2, things are getting interesting! Good humor, surprisingly great mood as well!
I wonder if there's a secret ending in the case you pass al the levels :)
Good job!
Fun to play! But SO HARD!!
I'm not sure I get how is this game related to the theme... but what the hell it's so fun :P
It's probably not on purpose but someone had the exact same idea for LD26 (minimalism). That created an immediate déjà-vu for me, but on the paper, the concept is really great. So here we have only one arrow, it was maybe not the best gameplay choice, but at least it makes the game more realistic I guess.
What I really loved though was the mood emerging from this game. The dark atmosphere and the sound effects just hook you up instantly, then we have this weird narrative layer coming up... really well done.
Congratulation for this... 48h game! wow
Very impressive entry. I liked it a lot :)
I suppose the reason why the timer is so short is probably to force the player to make a choice. As soon as the game is finished in one way or the other, we realize that the trick is: no real ending... killing kind of any re-play value for the game. But at same time, that's exactly the point of this game, make you realize you had no real good choice. I personally believe that the monster -if it exists- would be the guy on the right, holding the gun (nice finale right?).
Anyway... really great game! Congratulations :)
Awesome work given the 48h deadline!
The concept is really great, though it doesn't for sure fit the theme... I also like the music itself, which puts the player in quiet and relaxing mood.
Weak points would be: Level design (kind of approximative), and gameplay: the battery thing is kind of useless and a pain...
Great job!
This game has the weirdest audio ever... but it actually blends pretty well in this even weirder atmosphere!
The fact we have only one life is probably what justify the theme I guess... it's a bit too bad because the game gets quickly frustrating as soon as you lose at the second level for instance.
One more thing, it wasn't obvious to me how to use the purple mask, maybe some practice level would be nice to get the player started :)
Anyhow, it's a great achievement. As many said, very polished and nice pixel art & visual effects. Good job!
This is an incredible achievement... 7 hours right? That just blows my mind :)
Even though the concept has nothing particularly new, the story telling was here to raise the bar. Not forgetting the very polished graphics... this style of yours never deceive me!
Too bad it's unfinished... good job!
I wanted to drag one of the hamsters with me, but I killed it instead... I'm a monster :'(
Cool little game!
Given the medium, I wished more options were available to enable forks in the story and add some interesting re-play value. But that imply a way bigger complexity in how to connect all the dots :)
In order to make the story more impacting, maybe it would have been cool to play around with the way the text is displayed. Instead of having one big block of text coming to our face, display things letter by letter, play with the tempo, the colors, etc.
That was still nice experience though! Good job ;)
Great visual, I really liked the atmosphere you were creating here.
Weak points: some gameplay glitches can get annoying: for instance, sometime one of the ALIENS just rush on you super fast, and you get killed for no apparent reason. Secondly, the music is basically 4 notes...? :D
Alright. Fun things about this game:
1) Is the hero blind?
2) is he turning zombies into BLIND PEOPLE?
3) How come are we saving humanity if PEOPLE EXPLODE AFTERWARDS?? xD
Great pixel art graphics, bonus for the custom music. Simple and close to the theme :)
5 stars!
Just fantastic...
You really feel like your are underwater, the darkness and the visual effects are here to reinforce this feeling and make everything so vivid.
Only one bad thing I'd point out is the fact you can't really guess what's an enemy or not. You get some bad surprises at first, but get used to it afterwards.
Excellent job!
Nice little game, I liked the visual effect making everything all blurry with retro-noise when the character runs too much. Solid work for a 48h compo!
This game is just gorgeous... I mean it. Really easy to play, simple and efficient concept respecting the them... green thumb!
Maybe some relaxing music would be a plus!
Really cool little game! (And bravo for being a Dart pioneer).
Loved the art of the game. Are the purple trees a reference to Day of the Tentacle?
What could be improved:
- more entity types
- stupid AND/OR catchy music
Also, in a totally different topic, I Love you Notch <3
Hitler was apparently the first guy I talked to, but I realized that after realizing how obvious it was!
Cool little game, I wished the length of the music loop was SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN 3 seconds :D
So I did a first quick playthrough, before realizing that you literally need to go like crazy in order to do a 100%.
I want to know how the concept came up :D
Classical cool little RPG. The retro palette is throwing us back to the golden age of video game, and so is the global atmosphere of this game!
I would only reproach too linear dungeons and battles (it's basically always the same fights in long and "boring" corridors).
Great job!
UPDATE: Music & sounds are more or less working. The game now takes even longer to load, hurray! #HTML5 #wow #soFuture.
@burgerdare: Problem solved!
@ParaPup: See above!
@Jin47: Thank you =)
@kyyrma: Well as unlucky as this could seem, if you see that time it means you have died at the very end :D (sorry)
@LatFoued, @BlazingFanfish: Many thanks to you two ;)
@hamster_mk_4: Sorry about that, I'm getting more and more fedup with my way of dealing with game assets (notably everything related to audio). If I ever come to use this engine for future projects, I'll make sure to get away this frustration of having the loading stuck. In the meantime I would attempt a restart, if still nothing I'd be interested to debug the issue with you.
@Bruno: What kind of bug was that critical? Last time I got some weird behavior from the games (wrong collision detection etc.) it was because of the developer console open while playing. Could you tell me more by any chance?
@Nick Weihs: I'm fighting hard against this stupid bug, it's really making me crazy right now ><
^ indeed. Restarting asap
^ it's actually other people. I record movements from all the sessions, classify them by performance to give the feeling that more and more people are failing as you progress. The only problem is the lag when replaying player records... which gives this feeling that we have some kind of crappy cheating AI :)
Also, the stats are real, the server crashed recently so I might have lost some data though :)
@Bradley: Thanks, most people didn't see the twist. The one you can see at the end screen is basically supposed to represent a heart-beat, and your cursor was all along... sperm :D
^ Sorry I was out for a while. And to my very own surprise, it was the web server that died this time -.-
All good again!
(Ok now I know why it's such a pain to run online games ==> maintenance :D)
This game brought to me two great memories: Shadow of the colossus and Dark Souls.
The musics were just incredible (this guy needs to become a pro).
Graphics simple but efficient.
Boss battles epic and interesting.
And the gameplay mechanic just perfect. (love the visual effect when you aim).
One thing I didn't like though... the ending :(
Fantastic work guys.
The concept is great, however (and maybe it was a bug or me not finding the right way to go) you get to lose pretty fast if you don't do frequent round-trips to the fountain.
This limits the exploration time a bit too drastically, removing somehow the fun of the game.
The game itself is very polished: change in aspect, music and therefore global atmosphere as long as we age... great mood!
Congratz Terry =)
Dafuq did I just play? :D
Dat sounds effects :)
It's always great to have games with assets entirely made from scratch. It's making everything more authentic and fun.
"Que sera sera" -> "Qui vivra, verra" ?
Really a great game, but with two huge problems:
1) Mouse wheel to change items: I have a touchpad right now, it's super annoying and not precise.
2) Shooting bullets: There's a bug where the character seems to shot bullet at a random location, it's not convenient at all to kill all the bad guys :P
Apart from that, it was quite fun, well realized and it respects the theme!
I want to know how all of this ends!!
Really cool concept! It unfortunately took me a while to understand what was going on at first, but that was because I shamelessly skipped the instructions screen.
A way to improve that would be to provide some kind of interactive tutorial guiding the player as well as bringing the player to the fun atmosphere of the game.
Something else that would be cool is maybe some sounds and music, but it might hard to get something not too loopy.
Toutes mes félicitations ;)
@micahcowan: Yep you are right... I just added a link to the source code in the description :)
Nice little game! I ended up playing the post-compo version after making a mistake in the original version and not being able to restart the level. Though I totally appreciate your honesty here, I believe the ability to restart could totally be incorporated in the first version without considering that "cheating" :)
Bonus points for:
- Web;
- All the animations;
- Innovation!
Good job!
Really an excellent game. It took me some time to understand the fact that more white dancers = more flowers to collect.
This game was such a great experience, as the player, I was literally making the performance while still trying to score as much as possible.
Lastly, the game didn't even lag with all the characters and collectible and particles showing up at once... pretty impressive.
5 stars :)
That was fun! Really hard but fun :D
Also +1 for the mouth-made sounds ;)
Tested with a touchpad... and gosh that was hard!
I like the idea though!
Something that could have been cool is to be able to zoom to have a better precision on a giving area.
Maybe also show/increase the scope of the hero.
Good job!
Cool concept! It's simple, but totally fits the theme. The character design is excellent :D
What's missing the most is probably sound effects and music.
Good job!
Really enjoyed this one! It got me hooked pretty fast though I'm pretty sure I died for unknown reasons!
I still made it through level 2 and killed what could have people or bots... it didn't matter as long as they would die B)
Fun!
Maybe I wasn't doing that right, but how do you know that your character is successfully mining?
I kind of liked smashing the little shadows with the pickaxe, however at some point, the waves of enemies are super tough! (quite too numerous to be precise :D)
Excellent game! Really loved the sound effects and the controls. The boss weren't easy to take down, but it was more or less fair when I lost. I kept playing until I beat them all (thank god we restart at the latest boss :)).
Good job!!
Wow, really beautiful! It was surprisingly not too hard to survive in the first few days. The gameplay is not obvious but really simple once you understand the way it works.
My favorite part about this game remain the global atmosphere combined with nice graphics & music.
Excellent game :)
It's cute and fun... loved it! I wish there was a way to speed up the egg collection process... (or if there's one, maybe sooner?).
Good job!
Simple and efficient! I really enjoyed it!
It's umbelievable how long this game is given the fact it only fits on... one screen.
Good job!
Breaking the 4th wall! Loved it :)
Amazing concept which perfectly fits the theme...
Too bad for the lack of time (I understand why you withdrew from Music).
I got more or less stuck at the level with the hero stuck in a tunnel and jumping bunnies above, maybe that was also the end of the game?
Finished or not, this game deserves a good grade!
What a great idea! Also <3 the voxels.
My complains:
- The game is clearly un-balanced (or at least, most newbies like me are getting trashed on enemy #3).
- The fact you can move the camera kind of defeat the point, but how would we admire our beautiful ship otherwise?
- Maybe the UI could be slightly improved, but given the timeframe that's honestly cosmetic.
Great job!
Not sure if I'm happy to have summoned Santa!!
Really cool game, loved the atmosphere & animations.
Gosh for a second I thought this game was gonna be a screamer when I heard the guy doing the phone call part... who sounded REALLY LIKE the guy from 5 nights at Freddy's....
Bonus points for all the jibber jabber :P
Nice little game. I liked the number of available weapons, the extra effort on the graphics (particles, etc.) and the behavior of some of the zombies who keep moving while attacking the boxes (that's pretty stressful!).
That's pretty sweet! It reminded me of SpyParty, but 2D version :)
Cool little games with nice graphics! Whoever is moving in the background disturbed me every single time... bonus points for the mood :)
Wow that was so hard... but who cares cause' DISCO KITTY!
This was really hard!!
But I loved the concept, really creative :)
I'm still not sure I cracked the way the cat & dog give hints, but I eventually made it to the end B)
That game is really addictive! The concept is simple and make the gameplay hard & interesting.
Bonus point for the music too :)
The controls were a bit confusing (I believe the click is a bit glitchy).
When the game started, it was fun to see everything happen so fast. I wished I could build more blocks while the game runs!
Lastly, there seems to be a bug where the game doesn't stop once you got hit by a monster. Eventually, I got endless popups telling me that I had survived a bit longer :D
Good job for doing all of that on your own :)
Not only this is a good puzzle game, but it's also designed towards this "zen" yoga-ish atmosphere referring to the ying & yang (notably the lazers that reminded me of monks mediating).
Excellent job!
5 star for the music
Pretty hard to play this game with a touchpad!!
It was still pretty funny and I had fun throwing everything in the air... oh and also sometimes attempting to fix the computer... :)
Excellent game. It was honestly really funny and it breaks the fourth wall twice!
One of the best LD31 game I've played so far :)
At first I was a bit skeptical, but it turned out to be really fun to play!
It's also quite original and the dialogs cracked me a few times :)
Cool little game (y)
Though the idea is pretty good, it was pretty hard to play the game. A few issues:
- Resolution way too big (I had to scroll to see where I was going)
- Hard to understand what you are supposed to do: I randomly pressed space all over the place before realizing where I was supposed to get the provision
- The guards see you really easily, that's maybe a collision issue
Overall, I liked the music & character design :)
Good start for a beginner!
- Hero ship controls
- Enemy generation
- Title Screen & Main game
- Music
Nice!
Next time I would recommend introducing some variation in the gameplay that make the game a bit more challenging (and therefore fun!) since right now you just need to keep pressing the shoot button to win :D
Not sure what to say. this game really blew my mind by its simplicity... yet it was really clever (and good!).
You sir (mam?) get some five stars :)
That was brilliant. Really hard though. Great use of the theme!
I love the design of the kiwi :3
Concerning the game, it's quite hard to score, but it's still totally enjoyable. Good job for the music too!
Thanks for the feedback!
- "What does spacebar do?" -> That was supposed to be removed from the final game 0:-)
- "Remove the redundancy" -> I just updated the current version of the game which removes some redundancy. However, it's part of the story-telling / experience. On second thought, it might have been a design error on my side, judging by all the frustrated people :D
Ideally, I'll find the time to elaborate on this design choice later in some post-mortem post.
Thanks to all of you again for playing.
@elvaq: The choice of the platformer was actually a "last-minute" choice. I originally planned on doing a way simpler game such as a top-view maze with 8 directions. However, in order to make the game a bit more challenging and longer, I opted for the platformer (which introduces many imprecisions in the gameplay). Maybe a simple spaceshooter could have been interesting too.
