Fun game! Reminds me of a more arcadeish desktop dungeons :)
The graphics are great and the interface worked well, all I missed was an undo. My only gripe with the game was that although programming robots seems cool, I'm not sure if it added a lot to the fun of this game, I think it would have been more engaging if it had been real time.
Good job for 48 hours work, you even have different modes, most people don't even have a splash screen at the beginning :)
Wow, I have a feeling sound and music would make this game twice as good. You have a very good mood going on and sweet graphics, but not much in the way of gameplay. I would consider shortening the intro sequence before the monster a bit too, it was pretty long. Other than that, very good job!
Cool game! I played on hard but it didn't seem that hard to get a level 4 shrine though. Good job!
Great graphics! I wish there was a score or timer or something so I could have something to shoot for in later playthroughs.
Nice game. Like the main mechanic, was it inspired by the Labyrinth board game by any chance?
War is pointless indeed. This game really got your point across. And it had some interesting gameplay as well.
Very, very good entry. I like it a lot, and I certainly see myself coming back to this one. Great job!
Very cool, love the graphics and the mood. The gameplay is also pretty good, although the sometimes I felt there were some cheap deaths. Very fast respawn time was a good call!
Very good entry! I liked that the enemies didn't kill me and force me to start over, maybe it would be just as fun as an explorational game without enemies?
This game rocked! The only problem I had with it was the enemies, it felt like they were there just "because". I think this game would have been just as interesting if it was just exploring this world without the hassle of having to restart from the last checkpoint. Yes I died at the end. Several times :P
Couldn't bring myself to give it less than a 5 for fun anyway though :)
Very cool idea! Never seen anything like it before!
This is the funniest game so far :D
Love it!
Very polished entry, but it can be pretty frustrating, just like the old school adventure games. And the hint system isn't always up to date on what you did last I think, I kept getting hints to do things I had just done.
Very slick for 48 hours. I like it a lot, when I understood that I had to run up there and "feed" the sun the concept made a whole lot more sense too. Throw some other objects in there and you can have your self a very addictive little game!
Nice entry. I'm not sure I really like the bomb throwing mechanic, it was very hard to hit what you were aiming for, but the graphics and music were very nice.
Love the gameboy graphics! And cool progression throughout, short and sweet without any frustrating parts.
Very cool game, a bit easy when you got it, but it was a lot of fun!
Pretty cool. I like how you took the time to make a 3D game given it's only 48 hours!
Cool first time entry. I like this idea but would have liked to see some more elements introduced after a while. Good stuff, and impressive for 48 hours!
I like it a lot. Surprisingly cool gameplay when you are limited to 4 flaps. I like the graphics style too, overall very nice entry. 100% in about 4 minutes :D
Very cool. This graphical style really worked well, and the whole "handmade" feeling even came through in the music. Well done!
I love how bizarre it is, but the game design could use some work. Running out of oxygen after hunting stars for long time is VERY frustrating, especially considering how much time you spend just traveling around. The rest is just super weird, in a good way :)
Nice entry in 48 hours, but the bullet mechanics could have used more work. Those bullets were moving slower than you did when you're running, that was super awkward. I liked the upgrading progression, it was nice.
Some of the platforming was also pretty frustrating :P
The graphics were very cool!
The puzzle mechanic is cool, but I've seen it somewhere else before. The tiles that mess up your keys are a nice touch, although it was a bit hard to understand how they were remapped. Fun game!
I fooled around with it for some time, but I didn't fall in love with the mechanic. It just felt a bit too complex to do what you wanted to do :P
It seems like I'm the only one though, and it was very polished for an LD entry. Good job!
Very cool idea, but it would be great if it had an ending. I got pretty discouraged by resetting at checkpoints after one hit from enemies. I think this concept has a lot of promise.
Very scary atmosphere, you really pulled off the horror movie vibe! The game can feel a bit unfair sometimes, as you have very little indication if the killer is close by on some of the hiding places, but at the same time it adds to the atmosphere that the killer can sort of "appear out of nowhere" as they tend to do in the movies. Nice job!
Great job! I especially enjoyed the music, very FTL-esque, and the plot, which was very intriguing. It seemed like it would be interesting to have some more stuff to juggle at the same time, most of the time I didn't use all the actions on my turn. Will be playing this one until I solve it I think :)
Very cool entry. A bit slow paced, but it kept me interested until I collected everything!
Great puzzle game, and I love the way the tiles flip to rearrange the room, it really adds a lot! Would have loved to see some more work on the audio, to really sell the creepy Portal vibe.
Interesting puzzle game, really like the idea, and the fact that it's a shell script game you only control with the mouse, paradoxically :D
Pretty fun game, but I wish the controls were a bit tighter. Really liked the beheading animation!
This game feels meaningful. Great mood.
Awesome! The Game and Watch is strong in this one. When is the handheld coming out?
It looks great, and the game is a lot of fun. I wish the controls felt a little bit more tight, not as floaty, and I really felt like the saws falling from the ceiling were unfair, especially as they seemed to fall at random places, and were not fixed from playthrough to playthrough.
First of all, really polished game! Love the graphics and the music.
Now for some critique: it feels a little bit random at times, and with no way of penalizing the player if they don't optimize for points (except for the ending score) the appeal was a bit limited for me. I see that there's a certain element of trying to deduce the neighboring tiles ala minesweiper, but in the end I got a bit indifferent and just filled in all the remaining tiles. Feels like with a bit of work it could be an interesting resource gathering mini-game inside a bigger game or something.
Very cool entry. Love what you did with the theme, and the premise was very interesting, nice little story to it.
Love the cutout look of the enemies and the fact that your projectiles ricochet.
Maybe you could have worked some more on the "feel" of the shooting, I feel like getting incrementally closer to the goal after subsequent shots could be made easier by some more feedback.
Really like this game, had to play it twice to see if I missed something. Very nice mood and art!
Great main mechanic! Lots of interesting possibilities for puzzle solving, and the introduction of new items and harder puzzles felt just right.
Awesome mood, graphics and sound. Would have loved a longer experience, chasing down some prey, fighting some enemies. Super Spiral Wings? Please?
Pretty cool idea, I just wished there were some more actions you could take and maybe some more explanation of how the different levels (coolant, capacity etc) affected each other.
Pretty cool, I like how you unlock the level using your gun like that. Felt like the mechanics could be a bit snappier, the boss was pretty frustrating, I felt like your jump was pretty slow which made it more difficult to dodge stuff.
This game could really benefit from some more feedback, screenshake when you're hit, more hit effects when bullets hit the enemies etc, as well as more refined controls. The enemy behaviour is also pretty uninteresting, it seems like they are just moving straight towards you with different max velocities, some of them jumping at different intervals.
Cool concept! Really like the "add more rules as you go" idea, although some of the rules ended up being pretty frustrating at times. I thought especially the one where you ban a direction, and when you force the player to take more steps in one direction than the other were very annoying, since they could directly stop you from progressing for some time. Nice job!
Cool little metroidvania. Impressed by the scope of what you managed to put together! A little bit too much backtracking made it a bit frustrating at times, especially when you missed jumps and had to climb all the way to the top again.
Wow. That last trial. Mind blown! Just the idea of a Metroidvania with the map already revealed and on screen at all times is genius.
The only criticism I can think of is that some people might be put off by the difficulty, but that is clearly their own problem. Wouldn't be surprised to see you win this one as well :D
This entry looks and sounds great, reminds med of Papers Please, but I really didn't think the music matched the atmosphere very much which was a bit disappointing.
Great that you decided to participate, this is a great way to improve your game creation skills!
I would suggest not letting the player move off screen at all, right now if you disappear offscreen you have no point of reference, and don't know if you're moving back towards the screen or away from it.
I would also have added in some friction, causing the chopper to stop after some time if you stop holding the forward arrow.
I like the programmer art and good use of sound too!
Really cool entry, graphics and audio is great.
Only criticism: I felt like I could get into a game state that left the game unwinnable where I'm not able to reach the yellow bricks up top due to poor drilling on my part and unfortunate placement of blocks.
This feels very unpolished right now, the collision detection is very hard to grasp, there's no feedback when you take damage, and no real explanation when you are able to switch between layers. It's also really dark, which makes it tough to see the enemies before you are almost on top of them.
Funny idea, I love fact that you feel like a farmer just running frantically around pushing sheep out of the flower bushes.
I think the game could have used a tell that shows whether a sheep is going to "attack" a bush a little in advance. As it is now it feels totally random to the player if the sheep is moving towards a bush or not. I also wouldn't have created the first level with bushes in each corner, AND a big patch in the middle to defend. Give us an easy level in the beginning, so we feel like we understand how it works before we lose!
Pretty fun game. I think it could have been a bit more engaging if the enemy lines didn't move as uniformly, and you had a little bit more control over your jumps. Right now it just feels like you die because the jumps are hard to control, not because the lines are difficult to dodge. I wish it were the other way around :)
Pretty cool game! Some thoughts: The controls and feedback you got when being hit etc. felt a bit loose to me, and the waves didn't feel like they were getting harder fast enough, the game sort of dragged on a bit instead of getting gradually more and more exciting. With some tighter feedback and control and better pacing of the waves this would have been hard to put down!
I like the music and sound, but this game has big communication problems. I really don't understand what is happening, my objective or how I win or lose even after I read the instructions.
So much trial and error! The mood is good, but the items are hard to read and even know if you can interact with, and a lot of the times interacting with an object sends you back to the beginning due to dying or some hidden passageway. Giving clearer indication to players of what will happen when interacting with stuff would help a lot.
The audio is pretty good!
I feel like the game sort of boiled down to picking chickens from the point where they almost escaped the screen back to the beginning again and again and again. Would be great with a couple of other mechanics that mixed it up a bit.
This game would have greatly benefited from some more juice, explosions when you kill enemies, sound effects etc.
I recommend this talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJdEqssNZ-U
Great entry. I also had some problems finding my avatar at first, but after I understood it I was hooked. Love games where you have to understand you objective as you're playing, the mood and sense of mystery in this game was great!
Nice idea, it works pretty well.
Would have loved to see harder dungeons as you progressed somehow, right now it feels like they are all randomized in the same manner.
Pretty funny game! Definitely a game with high "just one more time"-factor. Had some laughs when books came flying at me due to hitting something on the other side of the room :D
Jesus, I wish I had 0.3 more seconds per move or something, it's so hard! Right now it feels like rock paper scissors, I'm guessing more than I'm reacting to the text.
I really wish the speed was a lot higher, movement feels very slow and sluggish.
Cool game, but it seems like it's kind of poorly balanced, and issue I've struggled with too when I try to do procedural upgrade-based gameplay in such a short time frame. Right now it feels like you max out your powers way too fast, and it makes it trivial to kill the enemies by just spamming the attack button. I also question giving the player back all his health at the beginning of each level, resource management is a big part of most roguelikes, and be regaining all health on each floor you're kind of removing it from the equation.
I had problems understanding how the resources connected to the rest of the game, and what the objective was. Liked the look and feel of the ship you were controlling!
Great entry! Both the game mechanics and the puzzles are a lot of fun, and the difficulty curve and the pacing is well done! One of the best entries I've played so far.
Only criticisms I have: Would have loved to have a little higher walk speed, it felt a bit sluggish.
I like it, although I didn't get to the end. Got curious though. What does spacebar do!?
Fun little action game! A little bit too similar to Mario Bros maybe, but fun and good looking entry!
Really love the look of this, and interesting way to look at the theme! I realize that balancing a game like this in 48 hour is quite a monumental task, but right now it feels a little bit underdeveloped. All the cards seem well thought out and fun to play with, but the resource system (if there is any?) and card drawing needs a bit of work for it to retain player interest beyond a couple of plays. Good job though!
Very good looking entry! Would be fun if it was more to the game than just rolling one die, maybe rolling combinations of 2 dice would lead to more "strategic" decisions? Now the dominant strategy seems to be to roll the die with the least sides that has the closest enemies number on it. Good game though, I think with some work this could be a lot of fun. I got in the zone for a bit there! :)
