LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Dungeon of Jest by Ithildin 2014-12-08T14:57:00

This makes me think of DOS platformers! Nice use of the theme too. I'd love it if your platforming was a little less floaty.

Pyramid of death by KedumeBits 2014-12-08T17:47:00

Fun little game, lovely graphics, and it's interesting that you need to escape more times than you die to actually win!

Tiny Thermopylae by Waschtl 2014-12-09T11:48:00

fantastic game; nice graphics, funny dialogue and fun gameplay to boot!

Approaching Grace by Sam Oates Games 2014-12-08T14:48:00

Nice music, interesting mechanics wrt moving two people at once and tombstones being obstacles.

Lost Worlds by Techblogogy 2014-12-08T14:26:00

Interesting interpretation of the theme! Platforming was a little too floaty, and it would've been nice if I didn't have to switch between WASD and arrow keys.

Gratification Crisis by zorfmorf 2014-12-08T12:45:00

Very enjoyable; curiosity kept me going till the end.

Block Dungeon by Lancelot Gao 2014-12-08T15:10:00

Reminded me of those iOS twin stick shooters that had similarly blocky heads, but with an interesting powerup system. The sfx were a little loud, and there were a few collision detection problems with the boss(I think he wasn't being damaged by the fireballs at max speed), but other than that, great game!

Winter is Nigh! by MaesK 2014-12-08T16:19:00

I got up to Round 7, and it's quite funny to see his gun shoot 3 bullets with the second powerup.

Nooo Bath Time!!! by Gabbmonkey 2014-12-08T14:31:00

Great gameplay with tight controls, wish the tutorial wasn't a pop up dialog though.

birdsong by managore 2014-12-08T20:11:00

Fantastic game, though I couldn't finish it because I got nauseous after 15 minutes of playing.

Contact Cowboy by jrap 2014-12-08T14:37:00

Fantastic, polished game with great art!

An RPG For Ants by CheeseyBob 2014-12-08T17:18:00

Way more fun than I expected! The special attacks and enemy types made it for me. I'd love to see you add some polish to the game post-compo.

i by VLTRAUIOLET 2014-12-09T10:24:00

Really hard game! I couldn't even get past the third stage. Fantastic graphics and music too!

Arena of Cube by maxyan 2014-12-07T19:31:00

I quite liked that the bullets ricocheted off enemies.
I would've preferred if the bullets were a little bigger.
Not a huge fan of the acceleration, but it seemed to work in context.
I liked the music.

Omn Nom by Mathieu Muller 2014-12-08T12:05:00

Crazy music, wish it looped. Other than that, pretty decent pacman clone, and I like the way you start the game.

Oh, and I couldn't tell what the bonuses were doing, so I don't know which bonus is not a bonus.

VOTE SNOWMAN (ON ONE SCREEN) by Ovidios 2014-12-08T13:56:00

Funny concept, lovely graphics, and nonstandard aspect ratio!

The sfx for the positive vote collection is a little too high pitched though.

Rescue the princess by eruiz00 2014-12-08T11:55:00

Is the jump height tied to the framerate? I couldn't jump over the wall to the first yeti unless I was zoomed in. But other than that and the lack of air control, I think this was a good game with a great idea, nice graphics and good music

Ocean Crossing by andysolace 2014-12-08T11:38:00

There doesn't seem to be much to do in this game, and there's a long delay before you can press a direction after each move.

I did find the easter egg though, that was in a pretty good place.

Starside Takeover by headchant 2014-12-08T11:46:00

There's a lot going on in this game, what with the powerups and the map switching, and that's great! I'd have liked it if the enemies were a little easier to kill, but that's just me.

The familiar is super useful btw.

Turtles World by Boehrsi 2014-12-08T12:19:00

I didn't finish it, but I got the 3rd layer in 135 seconds, and more clicks than a Diablo runthrough :P

Return of the Floppy by daviosmash 2014-12-08T14:52:00

The interesting enemy movement patterns and decent amount of polish stand out!

Mascarpone by Domicuc 2014-12-08T14:21:00

Really fun TD, even though I couldn't even clear 10 waves :P

The music was great btw.

Twisted Fantasie by wandersenus 2014-12-08T14:43:00

It's very difficult to understand the game, but it's an innovative turn based dota-style game, which makes it interesting.

The Unfettered Arrow by inkeystring 2014-12-08T12:08:00

Very interesting control scheme, wish the arrow was a little faster, but overall, good game!

Guiding Light by csaunders 2014-12-08T13:20:00

Interesting game! I wish the corridors were a bit wider, and a little atmospheric music would've made it pretty amazing.

ColorBlocks by kiiro94 2014-12-08T11:28:00

Quite nice game, I think I'd have liked it a bit more if it was a lot faster, for both the tutorial and the actual game.

Square by onilink_ 2014-12-08T11:23:00

I really enjoy the sprint mode, even though I can only form 7 or 8 blocks before I gameover.

Peaceful Place by cutandreil 2014-12-08T15:02:00

I loved that different enemies fought against each other! I wish there was a score so that I could tell how many of them died.

GraviFlip by oh_andrej 2014-12-08T14:04:00

Lovely graphics, and the controls were well done! I wish the mob affected by gravity fell faster than he did, and the music was a little too high pitched.

Guns & Bricks by tMalicet 2014-12-08T12:35:00

A lot more fun than I expected it to be. I love that little robot and his animations!

Main Menu Fighter by Legiion 2014-12-08T13:11:00

Nice idea, but it took me a while to get to the text in my ship, so I didn't get it till then. Maybe zoom out a bit more? Also, it was really hard because your ship's a little slow and there's a huge number of bullets.

Seaweed oh Seaweed by eruditespirit 2014-12-08T11:13:00

You only have 0.4 seconds to press a direction before it goes into the failstate. I tested it again just now, and it does work. Please try it again if you will.

Seaweed oh Seaweed by eruditespirit 2014-12-08T12:29:00

Thank you for the feedback!

I didn't want to put in ramping difficulty because the lower difficulty often becomes boring after a few plays, but I think it would definitely have been useful to have longer times initially.

About the visual icons rather than English text, I completely forgot that it was a factor in how long it takes to react, so I'll definitely keep that in mind, thank you!

Seaweed oh Seaweed by eruditespirit 2014-12-08T16:46:00

Thanks for all the feedback! I do agree that it needs at least a few practice rounds so that the player can get used to what they have to do, probably with a quickly ramping difficulty. I'll remember to keep in mind new user experience from now on!

Seaweed oh Seaweed by eruditespirit 2014-12-09T10:08:00

A countdown's a fantastic idea, thanks!

Kaleidoscope by Madball 2014-12-08T16:08:00

The rotating directions mechanic is really interesting, and it makes it incredibly confusing to actually navigate the levels (which look great btw). Thanks for putting in the level skip, I don't think I'd have seen all the levels without it!
