What did I just play!? My god that was creepy :P but in a good way :3
Thanks guys ^^
@Kroltan, it does quite resemble Spectre Spelunker Shrinks indeed :P I suppose you could say it was an inspiration for Soul Searchin'. Not that I actively thought about that game while making mine, but I guess coming up with the idea could have been catalysed by the fact that I knew Spectre Spelunker Shrinks beforehand :3
@tequibo, that is the game's trickiest jump indeed :P I'm sorry you couldn't get past it :/
@Jesper thanks man, very in-depth feedback ^^ this is really useful for if I want to expand on the game later :3 Cheers!
Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments! ^^
I'm very pleased to have earned 4th place in this wonderful LD! In fact I've decided to finish this game and to try and publish it :3
Right now I'm looking for play tester! If you're interested email me at maxim at sir-realism dot com
Pretty cool concept ^^ and I like what you did with the graphics. It got a little too difficult for me in the end, but I'm not really a puzzler anyway :P
Dem graphics! :O I also liked how you designed the 'dungeons' to be played forward and backward. Really great looking game! ^^
The only thing I could suggest is maybe heighten the friction so you float a little less :3
Oh, and I loved the little islands concept :)
Lovely graphics! The gameplay was a bit wonky though :P it felt really freaky when you entered the giant through his toe nail xD
And my gawd I love DeadBeatBlast! ^^
This game is difficult with a trackpad :P
I tried it in FF first but it didn't work, it did work in Chrome (like you said :3).
Funny little game ^^
Very very cute graphics ^^ neat music too :)
Gameplay wasn't very exciting, but it worked. :3
I guess, the main issue would be the level transitioning. It was a little abrupt at times and you could spawn awfully close to enemies.
Loved the visualization of the land you concurred :3
What a lovely concept! And a very cute implementation. Especially the upgrading your tiles thing was nice, because it really motivated you to combine the tiles, cause you wanted to see what the upgraded versions looked like ^^
I guess as a puzzle game the randomness of the tile formations you get to work with is maybe a little too high, making the game feel a little unfair or unbalanced.
But overall really good! :D
(pity there was no sound :P)
Dat music :3
Lovely atmosphere because of the interesting graphics and sound ^^ this feels like a very complete entry :3
Pity the gameplay wasn't too interesting :/ but I guess it was more about the story anyway ;)
This is a pretty cool game ^^ especially the concept is intriguing. It does, however, not seem very scalable in terms of gameplay. It gets difficult rather fast :P
Very interesting concept! The whole balancing between rewards and movable was a really neat idea :3
The graphics weren't too impressive, but they worked well and we're kind of adorable ^^ I thought the music fit really well :)
My only complaint would be the controls of the planting and building and stuff. The fact that 1 opened the building menu but 0 closed it, seemed counter intuitive. And the whole building/planting interface would've made more sense if it'd been controlled with a mouse, I think :3
Interesting idea and lovely art :)
The gameplay wasn't really exciting, which was a shame :P but I really liked the bees' bee-like movement :3
Interesting idea and lovely presentation :)
I was impressed by how smooth the land growing and shrinking thing worked! :D
The only thing I couldn't quite understand was how I could stop the evil guys. I managed to win the game by just being really fast, but it seemed like there was nothing you could do to really stop them. Putting water around them was an idea, but that would also destroy valuable land, so I thought that was a little confusing :3
Pretty cool idea and neat execution. :3
It only seemed to glitch out a little if you put your feet too close together.
Interesting concept and very nice art ^^
Pity the controls didn't work too well for me :/ I guess it was mainly frustrating that you only had control while you were on the ground and not in the air (which makes sense of course), but because the jumping was quite slow it left you feeling very helpless when you made a wrong jump :3
I love how you fly away at the end :3
Absolutely lovely! ^^ even if you're taking the piss it was still beautiful :P
Absolutely gorgeous graphics! And interesting concept with the teleporting. The enemy design was nice and everything felt really slick. Except for the dying :P
Nine tails? Kyuubi! ^^
Amazing art and sound and a lovely idea :)
Weird but cute little puzzle game :D I loved the pollish that went into the graphics and the music. ^^ The overall style is very appealing!
The puzzles weren't too special, but they worked :3 I actually solved the machine puzzle with the 2 buttons at random and I still wonder how :P
Lovely graphics and very interesting concept ^^ I think it would need some more work to make things a little more easy. I guess making the enemies move slower could be possible. And I'd keep tiles selected even if an enemy or player enters, but you just can't switch it at that moment. This way you can plan movement without having to be really fast with your mouse (although I suppose it'd be easier on touch screen anyway :3)
Hahahahaha! This game made me laugh so hard xD
Gorgeous graphics too! ^^
Oh wow, pretty neat idea :)
First I was like, mmmm tis is kinda weird and then another planet came and I was like fuck yeah! The multiple planets was a cool feature ^^
The only thing I was wondering about was why you made the planets follow the mouse so jiggly like, why not just absolute positions?
Interesting concept, I liked how versatile your character was. :3
The only problem I had was that I couldn't see why you would leave the earth. You could just stay there and hold down space and it would seem the most effective way to protect the earth from the aliens.
Marvelous entry! I really loved the combination between the two game modes and how the effect of the attacks were visible in the platforming world, that was great ^^ also the destructible terrain, very impressive feat for an LD game :)
Cool game you got there, dude!
I instantly die when I start the game :(
Great graphics :3 the gameplay is a bit dull, but the game itself looks really good ^^
My gawd what a great game! Love the graphics, they're absolutely gorgeous ^^ and the whole balance system is brilliant.
This game could definitely be continued after the compo :3
This game has so much personality :3 and the puzzles were pretty neat too. Challenging but not overly difficult ^^
Very nice atmospheric game. The graphics and audio were spot on! ^^
The bomb mechanic was interesting, but felt a little hard to control as you couldn't influence the force with which you threw the bombs. :3
Very cool game! Loved the whole cooperation with the ant and I felt sad I had to do the last part alone :P
Nice use of the theme. The way you are even smaller than ants was pretty clever ^^
Furthermore, lovely graphics and music and overall great presentation. I lolled at the ending xD
That was pretty random xD funny though, and superb graphics :3
Lovely atmosphere. The graphics were really really good and the music was very nice too ^^
The gameplay was interesting, but a little difficult to understand. Not that it was difficult too play, but it took me some time to understand what the smartest moves were and by that time it was too late and my formations were going bad and I couldn't make the first level :( I think the main problem is that the feedback of bad choices is only reflected much later than when you make the bad choices, because it takes quite some moves until the 'villages' grow too close together and only then can you see that you made a mistake before..
Lovely lovely lovely game ^^ the presentation was superb and the game's idea was really really neat :D
The only thing that bothered me were the puzzles where you had to get the enemies to move somewhere (kill themselves :P) but it took them really long, especially when they had to go around corners.
But my gawd, you even got boss fights in there! Very finished entry I must say :3
Nice arcade-y feel to this game. :3
The amount of pollish is impressive, feels very complete ^^
I liked the idea of the rooms and the doors. :)
The gameplay could've had a little more polish :3
I really liked the intro movie ^^
I ended up with a barren land filled with carcasses and nasty monsters :P but I got all the achievements! ^^
I have a feeling the game's page isn't loading :/
Ah, it's working now ^^ interesting graphics :3
Pretty interesting concept! If I understand it correctly it's about the perspective of a helicopter pilot who has to shoot apparent terrorists, but because he's up so high they seem so small and insignificant, so he doesn't care about them as humans or something and he has to obey orders.
I really like the graphical thing you did with everything going all wobbly :3 and music was neat too :)
that's a pretty difficult game you got there :P
Hahaha, I made a game around exactly the same idea (http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-23/?action=preview&uid=11306) ^^
Cool take on it :)
Funny concept :) I found it hard to see the spikes though, because of the black and white :/
Hahaha, that's pretty fucked up (the last guy) :P. Game's not too special, but I had fun nonetheless ^^
@turnip, that's weird, it doesn't do that on my Mac. It's an .app compiled by my Flash so there's nothing much I can change about it. I don't think you need flash (locally) installed because that's what the whole .app thing is for. So yeah, I dunno... :(
Very simple and elegant style to the game, I like that. The music nicely highlights the gameplay and the game's mechanic is rather neat :3
Really cool! I got a 100% ^^ the game gets very meditative after a while :3
Not much of a game, but pretty interesting tech :3
So yeah... I ragequit! :P
Looks like a very fun game, but sadly it appears your webpage won't load :/ I'll try again later :3
Interesting concept. I found it hard to get a grasp on what would be good tactics. Mainly because encounters and people to hire were random it's hard to find the good guys for the job, so to speak.
I really like the graphical style you went for and the whole game feels very complete presentation wise :3
Oooh, very interesting concept. I loved the idea that you were somehow playing a reverse SHMUP, although I guess gameplay wise this could've been explored a bit more.
I really liked the simplicity and style of the graphics, it fit well with atmosphere :3
It took me quite some time figuring out how to defeat the end boss/yourself. Which turned out to be really weird indeed :P
I really liked the music as well. It was very serene and calm which fit the mood like the graphics did :)
Soooooo cooool! ^^ I got to play this on my Gamboy Classic cause I do indeed have a USB cartridge :D
Funny game, but shitty ending indeed :P hahaha
Ooooh, very nice game. The presentation was splendid and the music was great as well. But what I liked most was the message you had at the end :3
I didn't mindlessly kill all the blobs actually, but that was only because I'd played a game like this before (Strangers by JW http://slordig.thepoppenkast.com/) and I felt very bad afterwards about killing kind aliens :(
Nice concept :) I really loved the style of the characters and the HUD! The gameplay is interesting but a little slow and it gets difficult really fast :3 Also, when I use the scrolling wheel in my browser (FF) it also scrolls the page :/
Great visuals and lovely music. The gameplay could use a little polish :3 it actually reminded me a lot of a game I once made called Ninja Furenji :P
Very solid game! The graphics were really good (especially the landscapes) and the music was superb ^^. Gameplay was kindof twitchy but overall fun :3
I like how rotated sprites are still drawn as bitmaps and not like you often see in flash games as rotated vectorized sprites. How'd you get that to work?
Very very good game! ^^ The graphics are amazing, the music is good and the whole feel of the game is wonderful.
The gameplay is very very cool, I loved thinking about possible ways to make the tribe get rid of certain assets or guys. Playing through the game was a very satisfying experience :)
The only thing I didn't understand is one what basis the tribe would choose a certain path, which made the game quite a bit more difficult. But not in a bad way :3
