ok...that's significantly freaky...love the note at the end

shigor 2012-04-24 13:41

Not much of a game, but I really like it :) Too bad it's not a bit longer....

Slow movement is agonizing, but I understand why... with fast movement it would be done in 30 seconds.

transmit 2012-04-24 13:45

I have no clue what I just played.

tacograveyard 2012-04-24 13:46

Definitely creepy. I was engaged by the story, wished the character moved just a bit faster.

vilya 2012-04-24 14:17

Music is very atmospheric and the story is interesting, but the slow movement speed made playing a bit tedious.

maximschoemaker 2012-04-24 15:04

What did I just play!? My god that was creepy :P but in a good way :3

murrayl 2012-04-24 15:05

Well, that was creepy.

kutuup1989 2012-04-24 16:16

Well that was downright disturbing! Nice work, the music was creepy as all hell lol

psysal 2012-04-24 16:26

Not bad! I sort of expected a twist ending but wasn't too sure what was going on, the final screens put things together nicely. Thanks for putting thought into the scenario, I enjoyed that.

I especially like the way you interpreted "tiny worlds" which I take to be, "a world inside someone's" head. This is a great use of the theme.

The game itself is a little rough around the edges, I know it's silly to say this about an LD game made under such constraints but if you polished things it would increase the dramatic impact greatly.

Good job, I really enjoyed this!

crippledgames 2012-04-24 16:31

@psysal Thanks, there was going to be a twist and it was originally going to be much longer but I ran out of time, I going to remake the game after the compo because I actually have a huge scenario planned

dakowta 2012-04-24 16:33

Ok that was kinda weird. If that was a creepy rating +5 for you

jeroenimooo 2012-04-24 16:48

The walking speed is really low, so everything takes quite long. The objectives were fun though :)

arhpositive 2012-04-25 12:50

Disturbing indeed. :) But I wished it to be a little bit longer. :)

minercraftguy 2012-04-25 13:04

The game sounds are really good, the bounding boxes around object could have been less restrictive

caranha 2012-04-25 13:10

That... That was weird. Congratulations on your first game, and that is an interesting take on the theme. I didn't like the sudden shifts in position much -- maybe you should have added some sort of transition between them?

strega 2012-04-25 16:37

Interesting game story. Don't see many morbid games these days :D I like it.

jeffalisk 2012-04-25 16:57

Wow, that was twisted... I liked it!

Loved the dark mood, but for some reason I laughed at the whole "anyway fetch me my hammer and nails so we can build this doghouse" business.

Really quite disturbing, in a good way.

keirua 2012-04-25 17:21

That's creepy, yet interesting. Please, make the guy move faster !

moth 2012-04-25 21:09

I think the people who think the walking speed is too slow missed the fact Shift makes you run :P Anyway I'm glad to see psychological takes on this LD's theme! I think you did a good job in creating a compelling experience here.

The unreliable narrator and really atmospheric ambient music are superb! It really tinged things with a Silent Hill-esque feel.

You say you're going to remake the game with longer scenario? That sounds great, I'll definitely keep track of it and play it again when the revised release is out!

zaxuhe 2012-04-30 17:09

good graphics, but the walking is toooooo slow

azurenimbus 2012-05-04 04:08

Really moody music, really creepy game. I think that the report at the end was kinda redundant. I think if you want people to get a point, they should get it from the game itself. If they don't, you should rework some elements.

I think that even though it's a little disjointed, this game has a lot of potential, and the disorienting shifts actually worked well to recreate the character's disturbed mind.

nuprahtor 2012-05-04 11:42

It was very creepy, especcialy "Bring me the dog" part.
I liked it.

ratboy2713 2012-05-06 04:47

Very moody. The character moved too slowly.

davidwparker 2012-05-10 14:54

Good job on your first Ludum Dare!
Like the others, I don't know what just happened...
The plotline was great, and I really enjoyed the notes at the end.
Music was excellent.
Could definitely expand this out into a full-fleshed schizophrenic guy-based, game.

alwaysgeeky 2012-05-10 15:08

Nice game... I liked this but the story was.... *interesting* lol. Great stuff! :)

garethjenkins 2012-05-10 16:06

Spookily compelling.

ilo 2012-05-10 20:37

As others have said, disturbing but in a good way! I wish more horror games would focus on paranoia and the psychological state of the player instead of combat and big scares that only work once.

beerman 2012-05-11 10:57

Wow. Nice job. Loved the way it slowly gets creepier as the story progresses.

dr-pingu 2012-05-11 14:07

I don't like this kind of atmosphere but i see a good work.
For a first entry : well done :)

thotep 2012-05-11 21:33

Reminded me of Terry Cavanagh's and increpare games, but it seems quite random (in terms of plot)...
I don't get why there's a "run" button, I'm sure EVERYBODY pushed it all the time. :)

pabloam 2012-05-13 19:17

A bit creepy and the walking is slower.

But weel done!
