LD24 — Evolution

Pirates and Gorillas by Brucef 2012-08-27T06:13:00

Pretty damn fun. Like the mechanics. Got 290. I couldn't tell if there was actually any evolution on the "gorillas" (looked more like mice to me), but still, I liked it!

Young Earth Road Trip by saguaro 2012-09-04T03:29:00

Pretty hilarious. Plays the way I imagine a funny web comic should play if it were interactive.

Neurochronic Alien Fighter: Evolution! by Ken Reismann 2012-09-07T06:38:00

Pretty fun as a shoot 'em up, however I had trouble appreciating what the power-ups were doing for me, or how the opponents were evolving.

Here's a video that shows some of the cool things you can do in Darwinphony:

Great concept, great graphics. I'm a little confused as to the lowering of water levels on a piece of terrain that's already high. So maybe if you're going to continue developing, simplify the controls. Also, tune the first level so you know what you do has what kind of impact. As it stood, I randomly placed eggs, and waited, and they reproduced. Same with the next two levels. So a little more challenge, with feedback would be great.

Really cool idea. I like this kind of process of creating new turrets better than the way your avg. tower defense game does. I also like that you can keep reproducing based on a visual cool-down, rather than having to spend money based on winnings.

Super Genome: Hyper Evolution Turbo Edition by Raptor85 2012-08-27T06:39:00

Maybe the controls are better under a non-Windows environment, but I still loved that as you picked up body parts, like the wings, it changed your gameplay quite a bit.
