Evolving Enemy by J00nzu 2012-08-27T16:04:00
that was cool! i had fun with the physics of the missiles and the boxes. I agree with Rellikiox though, it was hard to maneuver and needed some sort of objective! nice job though!

doesn't even open on osx ):
crashed on launch for me too.
Seems to be working for me now! I'm on mountain lion, the first time it opened it said I needed X11, and so I clicked a button and installed it, and now it runs!
Cool idea for a game! The thing that I don't really like is the interaction that I (the player) have with the game world is so limited with only one action, it would be cool to have more ways to affect(effect?) the population of the different organisms. Well Done though! glad i could get it running
why is the osx build so much bigger and slower?
It was funny how you had to punch the blob person so that they could complete the sentence "thank you, you've brought the *punch* happiness back into our lives!"
That was fun! it took me 3 tries to open it in chrome for some reason, chrome kept wanting me to "kill pages" with it. I like the graphics! nice job!
it sure fit the theme well. as fun as each of the games that were in there are on their own, I think for your second LD you should make an attempt to create something original and exciting. but still, well done, mate!
@ pjchardt Currently, the tail does not grow longer at all. That was something that I would have liked to added, but It was hard to impliment in the amount of time left and with the way I had my code set up. Maybe I'll ad that in the future. and for the difficulty thing, balancing games is not a strong suite of mine. Next time i'll get more people to playtest and give me feedback before submission.
Thanks everyone for the feedback!
I'm liking all this feedback! Despite all the many things I did wrong, I'm proud of this first LD entry, and I will now be able to make something even better for future LD's
yea they cap off at like 200 or so, your supposed to be killing (or evolving, rather) them before there become that many, but oh well, haha
I'm not sure how to play, i couldn't open it (osx)
It took me a minute to figure out what was happening, but then i got it! the first level was good, but then on the second i could'nt do it at all, it was super hard!
Cool game! Is there more to it than just running around and punching people? i really enjoyed the first time i got a club, that was fun! the models look good. one thing i didn't like though was the controls. really akward to try to direct the character, and hard to turn the right way in fights and stuff. but overall, i liked it!
Oh shoot, cant play on snow leapord OS. yet annother reason to get lion. oh well):
Seemed like a good start! I really didn't find any gameplay. I basically walked right, missed a jump and fell to the floor, walked right some more and it said i finished! seems like this has potential to be the start of something great though! well done!
That was fun to play! I liked how the points and talent tree/nodes worked!
Super confusing at first, but I really liked playing around with this! well done
Cool game concept with the whole generation thing! I was never able to clear an entire floor though): cool game!
on osx could not get it to work using the application but for anyone else with this problem just pop open terminal, navigate to the directory that the sandevo_mac.jar is in and do "java -jar sandevo_mac.jar" and that opens it up!
But yea, Looks like a cool concept, too bad you didn't have enough time to complete it!
I like the concept here with being able to play multiple generations. One thing though is it seemed to me like the player would run out of energy and die before it could get to a food square thing almost everytime, and that was a little frustrating
the title screen makes me dizzy!!! fun game though! I like the concept here! nice job
This game looks and sounds fun, just wish there was an osx version for me to play):
Fun game! i like it! the graphics are nice and the gameplay is fun! It turned into sort of just mashing on the mouse, but I liked it. well done!
I want a mac version): look like it could be fun though!
): no mac version. looks cool but I won't be able to play it. Slick2d is cross-platform, isn't it? why is this windows only?
I get an error trying to run it. I'm on a max with osx 1.8.4.
here is that error:
