Like you said, graphics were great! Wish there was more gameplay!

foxor 2012-08-27 04:38

I'm not sure what to think. Jumping seems fun, but it's a bit strange that you go through walls. Really it was just too short! Make more!

midgard 2012-08-27 22:58

Really good graphics. You should continue after Ludum Dare :)

What you used to make that game?

cacciatc 2012-08-27 23:25

Strong music and I enjoyed the visual style.

codesavage 2012-08-27 23:39

@midgard Thanks for the comment! I'll definitely be continuing work on this project. The game itself was written in javascript using the ImpactJS engine. The rest of the tools that I used can be found in my post mortem writeup if you're interested.

sfernald 2012-08-27 23:54

Unfinished but shows promise. It is one of the smoothest html5 games I've played in a while. Feels like a flash game. Sound works well too. The tune is fun. I'll definitely have to check out whatever html5 engine you're using.

brucef 2012-08-27 23:55

Seemed like a good start! I really didn't find any gameplay. I basically walked right, missed a jump and fell to the floor, walked right some more and it said i finished! seems like this has potential to be the start of something great though! well done!

buffalophil 2012-08-27 23:55

A good start, probably a great game in there, given a little more time

yenz 2012-08-28 00:40

Graphics are A+.

axcho 2012-08-28 05:39

I liked the art a lot. The movement felt slow relative to the spaciousness of the environments - though maybe that was just my computer being slow, I'm not sure.

samoojamies 2012-08-28 07:11

Camera positioning needs some improvements :). Looks good. Good luck with the post mortem version!

codesavage 2012-08-28 17:12

@axcho The slow-feeling movement is most likely due to the gravity being set a bit lower than normal. It's almost something you wouldn't notice without looking for it. I do have mixed feelings about it, so I may raise it a bit due to your comment.

codesavage 2012-08-28 17:13

@samoojamies The camera positioning is actually entirely intentional. :) What about it didn't you like? The way it doesn't quite catch up when you fall?

zoomyzoom 2012-08-28 17:52

Nice graphics!

tomsik68 2012-08-28 18:33

Audio & Graphics are fine, but needs more gameplay. I'll sure stay tuned for more updates!

krides 2012-08-28 19:15

Great little game, sort of lacks content like mine, but this only means that we should keep working :-) The world doesn't end with Ludum Dare. It doesn't, RIGHT?!

theballcollective 2012-08-28 19:17

Really enjoyed how floaty everything was. Wish there was more to play, though!

x-0ut 2012-08-28 22:00

Its a shame you couldnt get more done, it looks as though this was going to be fun.

raroadkill 2012-08-29 06:44

Solid start on this one. I look forward to seeing more of this game.

ratking 2012-08-29 09:09

The biggest loading bar ever :D I liked the astronaut..the anim was so sweet. And the controls for a platformer (jumping) were pretty good, because they often make the biggest problems (after collision detection).
Hope you make more of it!

jacic 2012-09-02 03:02

The physics felt odd at times, but were well done. Unfortunately it's not much of a game at this point. Keep working on it. I'd like to see how it turns out! :)

jomacel 2012-09-02 03:19

Really cool stuff, good graphics, music and controls. Keep the work on it ;)

josh-dreamland 2012-09-07 03:00

Very solid engine for HTML5, but the down slopes need work (can't jump on them while moving down). Great audio, great graphics, but I'm afraid there wasn't much else to this game at this point. Do continue it; it seems to be a nice foundation.

csanyk 2012-09-17 23:07

Nice, if unfinished. I liked the look of the graphics. Your character and the movement mechanics reminds me of Redder by Anna Anthropy. There doesn't seem to be anything resembling Evolution going on, though:(

thewiseguy99 2012-09-17 23:10

Hum too bad there wasn't an objective...I understand on here games can be short. But I can see this has a lot of potential

thewiseguy99 2012-09-17 23:12

FYI- the source is minified js. so it is pretty pointless.

codesavage 2012-09-17 23:58

@Josh Thanks for the kind words. I dislike the way slopes are treated as well, I will definitely be working on them a bit well.

@csanyk I haven't heard of Redder, but I will definitely seek it out and play it!

@thewiseguy99 Contacted you on twitter about the source. :)
