"invalid upload" after trying download the game :/
@sheetcode You may have tried to download it while I was reuploading it.. Try again now maybe?
The graphic is simple but fits well wit the overall mood, struggled a bit at the beginning with the mechanics, fun theme interpretation
Really juicy. I love.
Yeah, I tried my best to make a tutorial right before submitting but it didn't work like I wanted it to so I also wrote a tutorial on the page if the tutorial wasn't that easily understandable @fabrizio-spadaro
Haha thanks! @n-o-games
The gameplay has a great feeling thanks to the audio and the very nice graphics. The only things that bothered me was the way enemy spawned right on the middle, it felt too hard to dodge them and I died a lot .
Overall, I had a good time playing your game and all the little details made it feels very polished !
I had the same Problem with dodging the enemys. I liked the mix of different Gameplay-Elements and enjoyed your Game. Music and Visuals were onpoint.
@polegar @westmave Thank you for the feedback and the compliments! I'm happy the game felt good to play for you and I have to agree with the monster spawner, It was supposed to spawn at random points but it didnt work out the way i wanted it to :D
Well Made Game in 48hrs! I like the style and Music! Very Polished experience! The only problem I have is the enemy spawn frequency. I think its a bit to fast and too many. Overall, good job! Congrats!
Wow really nice polished game, here are few notes after messing with it:
**Thins I like** - good game play, interesting mechanics, professional look - fantastic art style - nice sound effects and background loop music
**Things that could be improved** - slow down the spawning of enemies, especially at start before player gets the hang of it - cut tutorial text to smaller pieces and pause gameplay so it is not explained all at once but while you are interacting with different mechanics
Very nick work in such short time
The game was good and I really dig your artstyle man! More feedback would make the game even more fun, for example enemies and the player flashing white when getting hit. The arena was a bit small with the enemies and their numbers.
Really nice game, great graphics and music and as said on the comments the enemies spawning right above you is really hard to dodge
Nice work! Fun idea and nice graphics, the simple dithered backgrounds really work and the bold colours and characters are fun with the old gamefeel you have added with the shakes. perhaps the room was a too small with not enough strategy in there, but I enjoyed it all the same.
Great graphics and the game play felt polished! :)
Wow, that's a really nice game!
I love the idea and graphics, but I think the enemies could be a liitle bit less harmful
Great Game, Really good graphics, great idea for game play, but you could make the enemies come from the sides, not middle of the screen, and also UI is really big (My Screen Resolution 2560 x 1440), i am not sure if game has UI Scaling implemented
@noeloskar I didn't think about that, I didn't implement any form of ui scaling apart from the default settings but I hope it wasn't too bad
Well done! I feel like the enemies should have been a little easier to kill or maybe have some way for the player to heal, but really awesome overall. I love the pixel art!
Charming and fun concept! The shooting feels really nice and the art is solid. Beyond the time limit of the jam, I would love to see more feedback for when the enemies spawn, they kept spawning unexpectedly and dropping on my head
well polished and looks great but the gameplay was very hard at startup. maybe if you only had one enemy at first and then ramped it up? good game thanks for making it.
@paulhocker @noahnewline @kr4sh3 Thank you so much for playing the game, it means a lot. Thanks for the feedback as I'm totally agreeing that the enemy may have been too harsh and I'm not sure why I didn't fix that before submitting! Thank you!
The enemies and the concept of feeding the monster feels really unique. Just the monster spawning feels unfair. Cool to see a game made using Godot. It feels really polished and the tutorial did a great job of explaining the game.
Excellent game! Looks great and the combination of mechanics mix nicely. The only remark is that the health bar tends to cover the upcoming inputs for the burger maker. Nice work!
Cool game with interesting mechanics. I was having issues with holding on to burgers. They would often disconnect or get stuck in wall.
Aesthetics are great. You could do use those assets in the future perhaphs.
Cheers!
Very good pixel art and sound, I enjoyed your game overall, although I wish there was also a web version, easier to try to it on other OS than Windows ;)
This is super well polished for a jam game. Tons of fun, and just the right amount going on to be hectic but understandable. Super well done!
I had a bit of a hard time getting used to the controls, and often mixed up the action and shoot buttons. My general philosophy (when applicable) is to try and keep similar actions bound to controls that are accessible by the same hand. In this case, I would bind moving and interacting to one hand as 'environmental' controls, and then have shooting bound to the opposite hand. For example, maybe moving is left and right arrow keys, and interacting is up arrow so the right hand handles all environmental stuff. Then keep X as the shoot button and the left hand can handle combat. Another possible combination is A and D to move with E to interact. You could then do left and right arrow keys to shoot and give the player control over which direction they shoot in, or do any comfortable/sensible key on the right side of the keyboard.
I've found that grouping controls by the player's hands helps players break down the control scheme in their mind, and let's them learn and master the controls a bit more smoothly.
With that being said, please don't take that big long paragraph as a sign that I didn't like the game; I loved it. I especially liked the arrow keys minigame that forces to you split your attention for a few seconds. This is a very well designed and well made game!
Very fun game! I like the art style and the idea for the theme. I will say the you die game over screen was confusing when it was because I didn't feed the monster. Also I feel where enemies spawn feels a bit too close to the ground giving you little warning that they are coming. However those are not major issues and it is overall a very solid game. I also appreciate the tutorial option. Great job!
@nick-rasmussen Thank you for the feedback. When I originally had a different control scheme but for some reason felt like my hand would mix things up, so I just went with what I felt was better. But I have to agree with your philosophy and I'll take that into consideration for my future games! Thanks.
@john-snyder Thanks for playing and for leaving some feedback!
@sarok Yeah I wanted to add a web build but I've had some bad experiences with Godot and building to web. But I'll experiment and make sure I get it right for next time! Thanks for playing
The game is fun! I found myself being challenged trying to beat the minions and get the burgers. I like the art form and audio, very simple. I kept getting hit by the monsters spawning on top of me. Otherwise I enjoyed it!
I think your game has a great idea to it. The sound and graphics are fantastic and the concept behind the flow of play is really nice. I was getting really frustrated at the start as I couldn't figure out what to do. The tutorial is a bit hard to read. But the polished feel to the game kept me hooked until i figured it out. Something that some other games fail to do! :) I think with some more work and more balancing (I found the enemies quick over-powered and some sfx/camera shake when taking damage would make a huge difference) this game would be reallly really good. Got a lot of potential, keep up the good work!
It is really addicting and challenging! The graphics are nice and the mechanics are pretty good and the monsters added a lot of challenge to the game which was good, the blob's food bar going down fast made the player try to be fast, which made it quite addicting as it's challenging :D. I found a glitch that you can shoot when you're dead, but overall it is pretty good! Nice!
I loved the art style, but I felt the level was a little bit too zoomed in. I would of scaled it back a little bit and gave the player some platforms to help dodge the baddies.
Over all the idea is pretty fun even if I suck at the game haha. I had fun making burgers and feeding the blob. It looked really cute
