@JokerDen, the hit box of the monster are really small cause i wanted the game to be a bit challenging. To beat the level you really need to spam your attack button while close to monsters ;). Thank you for testing my game by the way :).

Perfect idea and realisation, had a really fun time playing. Maybe you should reduce a bit the choice for each punchline. It was far more entertaining than the "fight of the century" ;)

The idea is fun :smile: I feel the same when there is an actual spider in my appartement "no don't kill it !". Yes some more levels would have been nice to increase the difficulty a bit.
Really original idea and perfectly realized ! There is a lot of details that make it very fun and very clean.
That is amazing ! So much work done in 48hours : A 3D game with story telling with intro and outro, a lot of interractive assets, and some audio effects that fit perfectly the game. The only drawback for me was the clarity of the gameplay, even though I assembled all the broken piece and put the fuel in place I was stuck with nothing more to do and nothing happened. Maybe you have to do it in a specific order like in the playtrough but if it's the case it's pretty hard to guess. Anyway one of the most impressive entry for me.

The atmosphere is really great, a bit like Katana Zero. You did a great job playing with the lights and the character line of sight. The audio add a lot to the mix ! Since you implore us to do so, I didn't cheese the game and had a great feeling with the gameplay, a little more difficulty would have been perfect.
The most innovative game I played so far, one of the few where I really had fun playing with ! As some other people said it's too difficult, almost impossible ? I tried at least 10 times and I can't pass the 3 minutes mark. The sense of urgency that give the difficulty is great but it can be frustrating some time. Anyway this is one of my favorite, amazing job !

Thanks for the review :slight_smile:, yes you missed the end. You have to go through doors and need to find your coffin by exploring the last level. On the last level you have to use space bar to go through the wall.
@artylo Thanks for the review, yes the woman in green has garling in her hand, that is why she hurts you.
Unfortunatly I didn't have enough time to make a better depth management and positionning of the sprite since I wanted to have audio in my game. A good night of sleep and two more hours of work would have been great :slight_smile: !
I will try to fix that on a post compo tonight.
@itskdog yes that was my goal :) , create the same game engine as wolfenstein (pseudo 3D) from scratch.

@stanov Thanks for the review, You should have gone through the wall with space at the end of the corridor. Everybody get stuck here, I clearly made a mistake in my level design !
@meelo That is great idea, I'm disapointed that in the rush I didn't thought about that ! Since I did the level design on the last minute of the deadline my mind wasn't clear enough and I made a mistake. Creating another type of wall would have take five more minutes and would have added a lot to the game since everybody get stuck here ! Edit : I implemented your Idea in a post comp version with some nice wall texture :slight_smile:
Great game and great usage of the theme ! You managed to create a really funny game with good mechanics thanks to the comical duo of the silly and the smart guy, the graphics and the audio. The only drawback for me was the setup phase. The idea of peeking through the keyhole is great but it's a bit to short to fully prepare for this silly guy :smile:
Solid entry, since you put on a lot of work with a real level design with an increase of difficulty, a good music and a funny game/gameplay. The drawbacks for me are the sprite animation which stay in place when you stop moving, an idle sprite would have been great and the controls are a bit frustrating since you can't hit and move at the same time (even if it can be voluntary to add difficulty), but that is some details. Anyway great job !
The game has a great feeling thanks to the deplacement that are really smooth and the sound effects. It's nice that you take time to create a little intro, it added a lot to the mix. For the drawback maybe a better sprite/animation for the main character would have been nice. Anyway good job !

Amazing job ! It's the first game of the LD built with phaser 3. I wanted to try this library one day, is there a plateform where I can see your source code ? It's pretty hard to find good example built with phaser 3.
Pretty fun mechanics thanks to the use of physics.
The number of bananas expected to reach the next level is a bit to high. Once you figured out how to feed the monster you have to wait to long for the right boxes to come with almost nothing to do. A little adjustement on this and a bit more details on the graphism would be great.
Amazing game, one of my favorite ! I really liked the graphism, the gameplay and the level design. It's nice that you took time to create an intro and outro which improve the overall mood of the game. The only drawback was that I had to look in the comment to figure out how to finish the game, but once I figured out I liked the difficulty of this level. It took me 64 death, but I made my way trough the end :smile: ! And I don't know if it was supposed to be interpreted like this, but at the end you realize that the divinity is a cat (since when it opens it eyes it really looked like a cat ...)

Great atmosphere, you definetly managed to create an horror game and it's a very original idea since I don't recall to ever saw an horror game during a Ludum Dare. It's a shame that you didn't have time to fully complete it (the scroll were a great idea), I will definetly play it again if you upload a POST COMP version. Good job !

Haha we had the same idea ! I wrote a 3D game engine from scratch but it was way more time consuming than I expected. So thanks to this experience I can realize how impresive your game is ! This is so clean for only 48 hours of work, sound, game engine, graphism eveything is really really smooth and fun to play. Amazing job !
This is a very original idea and a great use of deep learning ! Yes as you said in your last comment the game need a little more polish on the graphics but the mood is still quite nice thanks to the good audio.
The gameplay has a great feeling thanks to the audio and the very nice graphics. The only things that bothered me was the way enemy spawned right on the middle, it felt too hard to dodge them and I died a lot :smile:.
Overall, I had a good time playing your game and all the little details made it feels very polished !
Really original idea that fits the theme perfectly. The retro feeling graphics are nice and I like the fact that you developped your game engine from scratch in JS. Since it's clearer what to do with the cat than with the other creatures, maybe you should have put the cat automaticly on the first level as a "tutorial". The game misses audio which yould have added a better feedback to the player and improve the overall experience. Anyway great idea and good game !
Amazing idea and great tribute to John Conway. It would have been nice if you had time to add more features to make it more entertaining for the player like music and sounds/graphics effects when you reach a certain number of berries. Anyway great job and I like idle game !
Good entry ! I like the fact that you create it from scratch, it makes the result way more impressive. For the drawback : It would have been cool to be able to start the wave whenever you are ready, because if you fail it is a bit frustrating to wait all the preparation to retry.
Great entry ! Music and graphsm are amazings. The game is nice to play, controls feels good and the concept is cool. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that there is not enough upgrade to justify the 30 min timer. Maybe some cool but expensive upgrades like an AOE for killing enemies or a spell to make an enemy healing the fire instead of killing it would have create a desire to play longer in order to have a really powerful character. Anyway great job !
Great idea and realization, I really like the mood that you created for your game thanks to the console graphics and the audio. They both go very well together. The gameplay was simple but fun, the firewall level is a nice surprise and change the rythm of the game. For the drawbacks : when you loose it's a bit frustrating because there is no loosing screen and the game stops. It would have been nice to restart from the level you were at. Anyway great job !! It's nice to discover that there are more people from the "no game engine team" :smile: !

Very very original idea, it leads to a game with a really fun gameplay ! A bit of audio (even really simple) and a bit more graphisms would have been great because without it your game feels more like a proof of (a great) concept. Anyway this great since on top of that you had to discover unity !
Nice one, and original use of the theme ! Love the general atmosphere, thanks to the music that is pretty nice. I also like the fact that you did it with PICO-8 because it means that you had to develop a lot of things by yourself and I like this retro feeling.

Perfect usage of the theme ! It's a really smart representation of how the epidemy spread between humans (with or without mask protection)... and how difficult it is for doctors to threat all this amount of sick people ! I had fun playing your game, great work !

Good game, love the characters graphics, I had a good laugh when the first virus appeared and followed me with the main character running out like "Ohh shit !" :smile:. I like the fact that you used the actuality to fit the theme. I try to leave a way of improvement in my comments : It would have been great to have little different assets for some levels like different floor or wall texture. But it's time consuming, I faced the same issue in my game.
Anyway, really fun entry !
I like the idea and the message behind your game, it's pretty clean and original. A bit of audio would have been nice to guide the user trough his actions, because it's a bit confusing in the begining. Good job :slight_smile:
Haha your homemade audio made me laugh hard ! Actually the game was pretty fun I replayed it multiple time, but it seems like it's impossible to finish it, you have almost no time to keep the fire and your character alive. With a little more polish and a bit more actions to do it would have been great.
This is amazing ! That's a great idea, and the story mode is really funny. Since it was pretty easy in normal mode I tried in formidable, I couldn't beat the first enemy ! That is definitly a game I want to play again even when the LD will be over.
How did you do to code the IA ?
Really solid entry, the gameplay is really original and we have to play smart in order to trick the enemy with our bullets.

The graphics are really impressive and the musics fits really well the game. The use of the theme is a great idea but the gameplay is pretty frusrating because the enemies come really fast and we don't have much time to figure out which key to press depending on our orientation. I think that with some little ajustment of the gameplay it can be really amazing ! Good job !
Wow this is high quality ! The gameplay (thanks to great graphics and audio) provide good sensations, I liked the fact that you kill the enemy with one shot and get killed with one shot too. It's really amazing to be able to create a game like that in only 48h.
Next LD I will definitly try Phaser JS which seems to be a great lib.

At the first try I didn't quite get it, but know that I understand the mechanics it's actually a really fun gameplay (my high score is 40)! The graphics are obviously great. I'm just wondering if there is some situation where it's impossible to succeed, like an enemy right before or after a stone ? Anyway you did a really great job !

Wow ! Best game I played so far. Usually this kind of idea is to ambitious and really hard to finish in time. But you did it, and you've literally developed 5 games in one !

You find the way to make clicker games really fun to play ! It's really a great use of the theme, you made two incompatible genres become compatible :). It's one of the most polished game I played so far, everything is clean and smooth which make the game very enjoyable to play. Maybe adding some enemies who fire at you can make the game a bit more challenging, because I felt that in the end it became too easy. I just had to wait for my money to go up (but it was quite satisfying too ... :)).

Really good idea of gameplay and nice graphics ! I think the game become too hard to play as the level goes by, because there are too much enemy packed and our weapon is too short to hit them without being hit back. Rewarding the player with new weapon when he finishes a level could work. But i'm sure you are aware of that you just didn't have the time to implement it. Anyway that's a good game !

One little thing that is missing is something to tell the player that he failed. When I first started I didn't realize that I failed my dash and I thought the game had crashed, whereas I just needed to reload the level.
I couldn't figure out how to play this game. Once I pressed tab it show "buzzz" and then I couldn t do anything and if I pressed A or D it was Game Over. Can you give me some hint ?
It's actually a really nice game, I surprised myself playing it more than I was supposed to :). You manage to create a peaceful atmosphere with the combination of the audio, the graphics and the gameplay.
The fact that you put "just a carton" as the last item is a great idea because I was really curious to see what interraction was associated to that item, but I think I would have liked a real ending. Good job :)

That's funny, this morning I really struggled with my motivation to work, all I wanted was to play MGS V. Since I couldn't start to work I decided to spend some useful time rating some LD games ... and the first one I run into is yours :). And I'm glad I did because it was a great entry, very well polished and fun concept, a good lifespan ... and really challenging (maybe because there is too much inertia with the controls). Amazing work !

The only think that bothered me was the fact that I didn't have any option when the guard spotted me, I just had to stop moving and wait for them to catch me. Amazing job !
The concept is really easy to understand without a lot of explanation, that's good, and the gameplay work really well. Maybe the rythm part could be a little slower so we can actually see how our turret shoots at enemy to optimize their positionning. Otherwize really good and fun to play.

I just killed the final boss, your game was fun to play and got a good longevity !
The only strange things that happen was during the boss fight : when I first died I respawned with a cloak next to me and I was firing two bullets simultaneously. Is it a bug or a feature :D ?

Finally a game that used pico 8 ! I hesitaded between tensorflowJS or pico 8 for my game. I think this tool works perfectly for the LD :). Your game is really nice and it's a great usage of the theme. I think you manage to balance it correctly because it's difficult but not impossible with some focus. The fact that the game screen is small enough is good because we can see both the ship and the music part at once. After a few try I managed to complete it :)

Pretty fun to play, I managed to reach the maximum updgrades. I think the game could be a little more difficult when the time pass because once you buy few upgrades it become easy. Anyway that's a good job !

Pretty complete game with classic but fun gameplay... the music is nice to.
