Really cool game. It's interesting how it works design-wise :D

Really cool game. It's interesting how it works design-wise :D
Really cool game but it doesn't seem there's a lot of penalty for ignoring the notifications. I really like the gameplay, though :D
Pros - I really liked the fire shaders! Super awesome - It is a very nice twist on the theme and some super cool mechanics! - The concept is super simple and very well executed
Cons - Nothing good came from connecting disconnected trees - The UI might be so big as to obstruct the view - Might need more time to really expand the forest
Suggestions - Zoom out the camera as the forest gets bigger! Would both give much clearer progression and make it much cooler! - Might be a lot of optimization work ;) - Keep refining!
Really nice mood but the sound is not that good at communicating the negativity of picking up items, I think
Super cool game! There might be a bit of bugs, but you said that yourself :D
PS: I made a [pixel art game, too](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/level-onslaught)
I really like the graphics and its gameplay mechanics - super interesting!
Pros - The art is really awesome - I super-like the UI design - I like that you put in the rules and easy sound manipulation - UX design - Super nice sound design
Cons or glitches - It seems some text explaining the next action appears for a brief millisecond and then vanishes? - A limited number of cards - current version's replayability. Completely understandable for the amount of time used ;) - The music beginning again in the menus and looping so much can get a little annoying
The music and gameplay fit really well and the intro is super funny ;) It's a super fun game, too :D
Thanks for the feedback! I used FL Studio, [bfxr](https://www.bfxr.net/) and [chiptone](http://sfbgames.com/chiptone)
And yeah, the menu traveling is a bit much - I can see that :)
Thanks for the feedback everybody! I know the game is pretty buggy and lackluster feel-wise. I had to just upload it early because of an important test I wanted to be ready for the next day (driver's license) - sorry for that!
And yeah, there's a lot of minor changes that I'll probably fix once the votings are done in the LD jam - so save it in your bookmarks and play it again ;) (I think it would be unfair to update it now as that would be outside the compo time)
The attack range being farther than the animation was intentional as that would limit player frustration regarding the vice versa concept (the hit box being shorter than the animation). But it was probably too far, anyway
Should probably be said that all the upgrades have different properties: - Normal skeleton stats: 5 damage, 10 hp, 3 speed - Christmas skeleton: 10 damage - Boots skeleton: 6 speed - Helmet skeleton: 20 hp
- Player stats: 5 damage, 40 hp, ~12 speed
I've added this to the description, too, so everyone can see the answers.
Thank you for all the kind feedback! Thanks for playing my game 😁
And yes, the game needs a lot of bug fixing 😅
This is fucking good. I got so freaking scared, dude...
It's a very interesting concept and I like the idea and execution!
It's also super interesting that I get the urge to explore even though I know all the islands are the same. Maybe do some different graphics biomes, secrets, different enemies, etc. Just changing properties according to the island sent to the world.
The minimap also works super great to give this feeling of progression as you can see all the islands you've succeeded on gather.
A couple of general fixes: - Adding some more feedback when damaged - Doing mouse-based rotation even when not attacking (because of clear feedback on the control direction) - More merging of slimes - I think that mechanic doesn't come to fruition until later in the game
Very cool concept! Might be better with more punishment for the player when hitting a ghost. Losing just a bit of fuel isn't that impactful. Nice game besides :D
Thanks for playing and for the kind words, everyone!
@pablodap we noticed the bug just a bit after publishing but we're not really able to update it after the deadline
This is incredibly gorgeous shader work in its own unique way! Impressive stuff
Lortefugl. I loved it <3 Very (maybe too) immersive and super great atmosphere! The music and level design was really great as well though some targets were obscured and I really just prayed to whatever bird god is out there for the egg to not land in the damn water haha And in general, I agree with my contemporaries above! Super great tutorial, a bit weird controls, and just a magnificent mood. I love how you incorporated a kind of whistling in the soundtrack as well!
I'm so glad for all your feedback! This was exactly some of the goals I wanted to reach with the game ^_^ And I realize that, besides the flower, the game might need a bit more love as well haha Thanks, everyone <3
Wonderful and wholesome idea and execution <3 Also loved the very integratedness of it all - text and images appearing and being handdrawn etc!
That is definitely not supposed to happen  But thank you
@fabdynamic that is absolutely wonderful, thank you! I haven't had time the past week but I'll try to update both the game and the source code tonight so if you want, it'll be there ❤️
Really nice concept! As mentioned by others, the controls felt quite awkward to me. Liked the level skip feature for game jam purposes ;) The several lives effect was quite neat.
Wow, this is absolutely awesome!!! I'm in love with the triple / quadruple mechanics that the black hole presents, extremely well done. Additionally, the level design is lovingly presenting ideas before challenging you with them. 5/5 and I would encourage you to work more on it at least in some way! Especially with some audio. Really good job!
I really liked the mood on this one and the animation on the frog made it for me 😂 Really simple mechanic that felt super nice to play.
Thank you @iguanana <3
That's hilarious @papaya 😂 Also a really good suggestion! I'll update it for the next iteration! And thanks for the praise @villfuk02! It has been quite hard getting the AI to say super sensible things and that was the main focus - so I definitely understand if the meta game does not seem fleshed out 😅
💖 Glad you all liked it, everyone! @potatomika, @shellofagirl
And yeah, @kurrik @lako @unpronounceable @oadt @fupi @yearningboo @potatomika and @arianad, the AI is indeed relatively nonsensical. There is a process called **prompt engineering** which is basically figuring what I should input into the model to get it to output things that make sense and are cohesive with the conversation - this task is extremely hard, especially with the new types of models I was working with! With another day, I would probably have it pretty much down but damn 😅
I can program these things but the control and interpretation is a hard nut to crack because it's like interacting with a person except that it has some very strange internal workings. Anyways, that was a bit of context, hope you enjoyed it!
Really awesome game! I love how complete it feels and it can definitely be expanded :D
Really fun idea! Love the theme and the graphics that surround it. I very much enjoyed the ways that dodging and the camping dudes' AI was set up 😁
The web version doesn't seem to work for me!
Super cool, love the mechanics!
This was an AWESOME game - I liked how it seemed surmountable in the beginning and then the mechanics began following the narrative and you had to take gum to survive haha
Yeah, it's feels like a diplomatic party game! Very interesting and super nice with the ramp-up in difficulty.
REALLY liked this one - I'm super impressed by the interplay between the cute art style combined with the neat story and wacky control mechanics.
Really loved this one - surprised me a lot when another attack was the first to come! Definitely awesome graphics!
Really awesome game here - I love the double-mechanic of the candies along with the abilities, very nice.
Beautiful small game with a very coherent minimalistic art style, both in music, graphics and presentation, good job!
Quite nice dynamic of both balancing bullets and time. Good job, mate!
