LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Stir Cry by icxon 2022-04-06T06:14:59Z

Nice job, a very cohesive game. Awesome to play as different characters and different weapons. If there was more time, it'd be cool if the weapons had different reload times (seemed to be the same for all weapons from a feel perspective) or if characters had affinities to weapons.

Detour by Dustyroom 2022-04-07T23:06:56Z

Quite a nice puzzle game. I think the concept is pretty unique and figuring out how to walk the block over the bonuses was interesting. I do agree that not being able to 'win' would be better fitted for the theme. Possibly by giving the 'enemy' some block destruction skills/ability.

Orbles by Rongo Matane 2022-04-06T18:04:18Z

Great concept. Cohesively presented.

It took a bit to figure out how the economy worked, never really got it bustling like the gif. Warrior AI sometimes went too deep into the baddies.

Infection by kabloosh 2022-04-06T18:13:24Z

Cool game. Like the genre, cursor was nice and shooting was enjoyable. Agree with the others that difficulty could be higher though enemy diversity would be more engaging to keep playing. Found myself just sitting by pills at the end there, so one possibility could be to limit ammo or have to pick it up spawning guns (comically having a bunch of guns strapped over your player).

The king is dead, long live the king! by goudcode 2022-04-04T23:02:48Z

Art is nice and I like the aspect of upgrading on new turns. Movement is buttery. It wasn't really intuitive on how to get food since it looked like tools from the bookshelf, took me a couple games of running around to figure it out. Good job!

Meteor Storm by sprngr 2022-04-06T18:56:29Z

Nice graphic design for the game, very clean. The turret rotation speed was too fast for my liking; I had trouble getting the precision I wanted. All in all, nice execution.

Taxed to Death by jasontherand 2022-04-06T18:48:09Z

Lizard gamer brain says to go get all the sparklies so definitely had to double take and fight against that. An interesting take with impressive audio.

Garden War by Firesplash Entertainment 2022-04-06T18:37:33Z

Cool concept. Always interesting to have to consider tradeoffs. For me, it would've helped if I could have some information on what the items did and/or their stats to make better decisions and choices. If it was on there, then it was a bit unintuitive on where to look for the info.

Icebreak by tylerstraub 2022-04-06T23:28:13Z

Definitely a challenging game. Had trouble setting up situations where I could leverage the push as the enemies generally were smart enough to not get into those situations. Someway of knowing their attack types (hover) might've helped out in planning but can understand if keeping that all in your head is part of the difficulty.

The Pit by ZwodahS 2022-04-10T22:54:52Z

Nice game! Enjoyed giving some thought about tradeoffs. Was overrun with wounds, some more card destruction would've been nice to play with (or enemies with that ability).

Meteor Storm by Fragment Games 2022-04-05T01:07:13Z

Really cool aesthetics on the game, makes it quite cohesive. Initially thought I was supposed to fly around with the ship but caught on quickly on the next game.

Battery Low by Milestone Games 2022-04-06T18:29:12Z

Cool little game. Might have a little more replayability if there was a randomness element but can understand that some levels might not be clearable at that point. Really nice art. Some text was a little hard to read in the intro.

Cards of the Cosmos by popesp 2022-04-05T06:16:15Z

Cool little game. It would be nice if the starter deck had a bit more variety. Seemed like the second level's (or random opponent) deck was made to counter it or something.

One Fuse by the neon shark 2022-04-05T23:41:21Z

A unique take on the theme. I wonder if a leaderboard (or a wanted board) would be interesting to spur engagement as much of the fun is when others are online as well. Explosions to length of wick burned would be an interesting statistic. Or if visitors have limited butane/CO2 to ignite/extinguish with.

AutoGrid by ObsceneBard 2022-04-05T06:07:09Z

It's an interesting concept. A bit difficult to build intuition on how to play. Perhaps it was my browser/resolution but the damage field was hidden in most of the sprites.

It was hard to tell what 'adjacent' means on the board. Is it the 4 cross tiles or do the corners count too for 8 (if you placed in the center). Perhaps animation and cycling through the units, showing their attack patterns could help build intuition on how the units behave.

Barbar-chicks by kangsoon 2022-04-06T06:30:26Z

Quite the interesting game. Getting insight into the Barbar-chicks AI is helpful. The knight moves definitely makes it tough, my king was doing most of the work but probably takes a bit more playing to develop better intuition.

Guardian of the Sand by EverythingIsBacon 2022-04-05T23:35:02Z

Definitely a relatable theme. It would be nice to have some feedback on what the sand breaks did as it didn't seem to stop or divert water (I understand fluid mechanics are probably too much for the game jam time). I assume it holds the tide back but some metric to make the cost benefit of more breaks vs repairing would be interesting.

The Adventure of a Lifetime by JamPaktGames 2022-04-04T22:50:24Z

It definitely had a cohesive theme and mood especially with the art direction.
