I love the creativity of this game, The characters are nicely made. Require some brain power to play this actually (which I don't currently have enough). I wonder how this game will turn out when you finished it. Maybe add more destructive character to it?

Look man, I dont get it, it would be better if you gave a tutorial. Check my game!

Interesting how you are playing as your own opponent, and destroying your own units is actually how you survive. The numbers on the grid were hard to read since they overlap the characters but the first two levels were easy enough to win by filling squares randomly. Sound effects for placing units would be nice, but the highlighting on the checkboard works really well for user feedback so its fine without it.

Took me awhile to get it but after playing with it a while I figured it's like playing a card game against yourself. It is a really interesting idea that I think should be looked into farther. I wish there was more feeling though. The monsters are cute but no sound makes me sad. I think with a little tweaking you can make this really fun.

This is a really cool take on a tactics/auto battler sort of game! Good variety of monsters, made it interesting ^^

Thanks guys! Yea the biggest challenges were to get the infrastructure built up for it, after which adding more characters was pretty quick and easy. I'll note your suggestions and try get a better version out after the jam!

Neat game I've never played a game like this before it took me quite a while to figure out what I was doing cause the early levels went by with ease lol then it started disappearing and it clicked! It was interesting figuring out to combine damage dealt monsters with high health or healing ones to keep them on the stage longer good job!

It's an interesting concept. A bit difficult to build intuition on how to play. Perhaps it was my browser/resolution but the damage field was hidden in most of the sprites.

It was hard to tell what 'adjacent' means on the board. Is it the 4 cross tiles or do the corners count too for 8 (if you placed in the center). Perhaps animation and cycling through the units, showing their attack patterns could help build intuition on how the units behave.

great suggestion @adangtran ! I'm thinking I should be able to implement a more user friendly 'combat phase', which will probably help a lot with teaching what the characters do and how they affect the map

This is the kind of game where just some steady background audio would add so much. The gameplay is interesting and unique and is definitely the kind of thing that I would get hooked on and want to learn the strategy of, but the mood is way off due to the dead silence. Outside of that, the game is fantastic, good work guys!

I liked the gameplay! As Glove said, background audio and feedback would have been great to help get into the experience better, it's very curious how you they hurt each other slowly! Great work! :v:

I think it would be nice if the game guide was a bit clearer.
