Before I say anything. That Name. Perfection.

Even though I wasn't able to get far in the game I must say from what I saw it looks incredible. The psychedelic music, environment, art, it's all so perfect and well done. The game doesn't feel like it was made in 48 hours the presentation is _that_ good.

I do have some issues with the gameplay though. It seems like you were going for a Hotline Miami feel with the game but I struggled with this game more than I feel like I ever did with Hotline Miami. The tutorial is a nice introduction to the game mechanics (by the way nice use of the theme) but then the stage that follows is unimaginably difficult to start with. Not being able to hold down the mouse to fire meant that sometimes the html window would bug out when double clicking. I understand it's _meant_ to be difficult, but the difficulty never ramped up for me, it constantly just stayed, 'hard'. But otherwise it was a really fun experience, good job :)

Also Quick Bug Report: If you press reload while reloading it still takes up health

This is incredibly gorgeous shader work in its own unique way! Impressive stuff

This was a pretty fun game and held me for about ten minutes (which is pretty good for me). There wasn't enough variation of interactivity to keep a sense of a story going, but considering the limitations of the competition this was strong. I really liked the changing chords when you made a sacrifice. I think a better mechanic for movement/shooting would be to always move relative to the position of the cursor. In other words, if you press (for example) 's' you'd move away from your cursor, but 'w' would move you toward your cursor. 'A' and 'd' would then be used for strafing. That would always make the cursor the player's centre of focus, encouraging its use to aim.

Things that I liked: * The aesthetic is cool as hell, even if the graphics are fairly simple. * Movement and shooting feels satisfying and works great. * The sacrifice sound, god DAMN.

Things that can be improved: * It's hard to spot enemies sometimes - they're grey on a grey and white background. * The process of dragging an enemy back to your altar to restore health is slow and flow-breaking. * I think you die a bit too quickly, but that might just be because I suck.

Overall: 4.0

@call-me-nutty thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I forgot about the WebGL thing, I expected my game to be buggy on WebGL (surprisingly not) so I didn't even plan around having a web version.

giovannibarrottu 2018-12-04 14:36

@jasacken Thanks for the advice! I might have to try out that movement idea you mentioned!

@vulcansyntax Yeah, I had trouble trying to make the dragging not feel too slow, thanks for the criticism!

That graphic style is gorgeous but maybe a bit to bright for me(maybe I should dim my screen). Gameplay is good, however some kind of cursor would improve aiming and feel.

Mindblowing shader work here. Love the unpronounceable title too! I think the enemies feels a little too hyper and gun happy though so I had to dash out to shoot and run back for cover. Enemies look a little dull in comparison to the crazy backgrounds. Great job!

gabrielgaspar 2018-12-04 15:45

Love every aspect of it, although I do think dragging the corpses back should be a bit faster :)

This game is intense and I love it! The music and visuals were perfect. Keep up the good work!

Whoa. Really interesting concept here. Loved the dragging mechanic and especially the feedback when you dropped them off. Knowing the direction you're facing would have helped a lot as I shot a lot of walls. Solid entry. Tripping balls for sure.

this was a trip, I spent a lot of time in this one. It hurt to look at after a while, but in a good way I think. Really fun gameplay, intense visuals and nice details. It felt really good to shoot and the trails you leave when dragging someone are a nice touch. This was great.

this was a visually stunning game that is extremely difficult -- awesome

I enjoyed this game and the visuals are stunning and so is the audio. The game is very good! Well done

I really loved the visual and artstyle. The only gripe I have with the game is that it's a bit tedious to drag the bodies all the way back to the beginning every time you need to heal and you can't drag more than one body at the same time. In general, it's a game I will remember. Well done.
