Love this art! The concept is great and really well implemented in my opinion. It was a bit hard to figure out what to do with the blood spewing but the rest for pretty intuitive. Very fun overall!

One of the most fun submissions i've played yet. Might actually come back to finish this one, was really quite hard! just couldnt seem to stop the bleeding. Great job I really like this one.
Thanks to both of you for your comments :)
You are not the first one to have issue with the bleeding part. I guess sometimes the cotton is touching too many spurts of blood and it reaches its absorption limit too quickly to diminish the blood jets.
I probably spent a little too much time on the graphics of big sprites and should have focused a bit more on the gameplay itself... Again, thanks for the feedback :D
Graphics and sounds are very good. The concept is very great ! This game is cool but I thank that it's a little so hard. Great job !
Feels really complete, the blood fountain thing gets out of hand really quickly. :laughing: Fullscreen option would be nice, you can fullscreen with alt+enter but then the mouse resolution feels bad. Also would have liked some feedback on how well you are doing with the heartbeats and how the condition of the alien is.
took a sec to understand but i really enjoyed this game!
Very funny game, I really enjoy playing it! The gameplay is really clever, and I would like to play a multiplayer version of it (a medical equipe maybe). Also, if it were up to me, the Earth would be doomed. Sorry! :C
The most innovative game I played so far, one of the few where I really had fun playing with ! As some other people said it's too difficult, almost impossible ? I tried at least 10 times and I can't pass the 3 minutes mark. The sense of urgency that give the difficulty is great but it can be frustrating some time. Anyway this is one of my favorite, amazing job !
@polegar Thanks :) Yeah, it seems the game is too difficult for most players. I don't recall finding it too hard while making it but I guess it's easy when you've been playing it non-stop for the last 48h x)
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice concept. Really feels stressful to juggle all this problems at once.
Really cool for a compo game, but I must say I struggled to understand what to do. Especially that bleeding game (or whatever it is, the one with the cotton pads?). I never figured out how to do that one. I also didn't understand at first that I had to keep pressing space repeatedly throughout the whole game. To be fair, that was written in your description, but not everyone reads that. A simple feedback, either a sound or something visual, when you hit or miss the rhythm, would have helped a lot.
Either way, great game, especially for the compo!
Great concept, unfortunately, most of the controls would not work for me. Sometimes the blood would not soak up and I could not clear out the clogs at all and had to keep restarting. A few bugs you should work on fixing. If you fix them please let me know and I will replay! Look forward to it
I really like this game , my aliens kept dying on me but I will keep trying until I beat this game. :)
@mneubrand Thanks! That was my aim with this game :)
@luckyfeathers Yeah, I figured out several people at trouble with the bleeding game. And good point with the lack of feedback from the ECG, I really should have thought about that. Thanks!
@cavedens I believe the issue with this minigame is that the blood spills actually multiply overtime, and I guess the cotton pads get soaked up too quickly to finish it. Thanks for the feedback!
@belowzerogames Thank you :)
Amazing haha, i was not able to do it, i felt some of the minigames where somewhat unbalanced haha, or it just may be me not quite understanding the mechanics, i mainly had this problem with the minigame where i was supposed to use cotton to stop the bleedings. overall it's a solid game in my opinion incredibly challenging wich i enjoyed!
Grapichs are solid, audio is solid, gameplay, everything.
Only thing i found out of place was a spelling mistake in the help screen! Ikke navngitt.png
I was unable to keep it alive, but the game was really fun nonetheless. The graphical style, colours, and music fit together well; nothing feels too incomplete.
It's hard to tell if I'm properly operating the pacemaker button. I'd assume each 'possible cause of death' has it's own health from 100, that ticks down. The surgical minigames are fairly intuitive, but take multiple retries of the game to figure out.
The bleeding minigame should have a limit to how much open wounds should appear, it becomes impossible after a few seconds or just by being unlucky.
It was hard to see the blue line on the stitching minigame, took a while to figure out I had to click and drag starting from one end. There should be some indicator of where to put the mouse, and also not to have any overlapping cuts because it looks weird.
Overall, very difficult, well polished for a compo, and worth playing.
@kekkodude Thanks!
Yeah, it seems there are issues for everyone with the blood spilling one. Thanks for the feedback! Oh, and nice spotting that spelling mistake: I must say I wrote the help texts in a hurry towards the end of the deadline! ^^
@capital-asterisk Thanks!
Yes, each cause has its own health that decreases at time goes by. I agree with your remarks on both the surgical and bleeding minigame, I never encountered any major issue with those but I guess it's normal when you made the rules in the first place ^^
Thanks for the feedback!
I really like the concept!
I was able to figure out how all of the minigames worked, except for the bleeding one. If I did it quickly enough, I could get rid of one or two of them, but after a few seconds nothing would happen, no matter how many pad things I used. Other than that, my only complaint would be that it would be nice if the window was a bit larger.
@jcourt Thanks!
Yeah, the bleeding game is sure flawed. Thanks for the feedback! I used to offer the choice of screen resolution and window size in other LD games, but didn't really think about it this time. I'll keep it in mind for the next time :)
Unfortunatly I am not able to play, downloaded and started but nothing happens - anything special I would need on my machine? Would really love to play, especially because it looks like we had a veeery similar idea for this jam and would've loved to test yours :D
Pretty neat looking game. I got stuck on the minigame with the blood and bandages, I didn't know what I was supposed to do. I really like the concept of having to be in sync with the heartbeat.
This has a ton of content for a compo game. The in-game help was appreciated, but in general the minigame goals were intuitive. My main complaint is a lack of feedback. I had trouble telling how well I was going on any individual minigame and whether I was making any progress. The difficulty was also a bit high (let's face it, a lot of us are playing 5 games a day and don't have time to master all these new mechanics), but that's really only a criticism in the context of the jam.
The fact that you got a soundtrack and full sounds effects (and all sounding good!) done in time is very impressive.
Brilliant concept and an absolute blast to play. It almost reminds me of Wario Ware with the rapid-fire minigames, but with added multitasking. I could see this being expanded into some sort of a competetive party game. Also, the graphics and sound were really good. My main issue was with presentation, however. The small screen resolution means that the game is played in a letterbox-sized window. Also, the font was fitting, but often difficult to read. The tutorials, while appreciated and certainly not standard for Ludum Dare, were fraught with typos and awkward sentences that made them hard to understand.
I know I just said a lot of negative stuff, but it's all relatively minor. Overally, this is a fantastic entry, and well above average for compo. Good job.
Very polished game, especially for a compo. As others have said, it is pretty difficult and the small screen size didn't make it any easier. A quality game nonetheless.
@marc-grabow Very strange, I never heard about GM games not starting... What OS are you on?
@sam-minh Thanks! You're supposed to absorb the blood using the cotton pads, but it seems the game can quickly turn in a no-win situation in this minigame, unfortunately.
@james-beninger Thanks! Yes, I agree on the lack of feedback, I tried to add a couple of sound effects here and there but way more could have been done in hindsight.
@quinn-patrick Thanks for the feedback! I understand for the resolution, I'll try to add a window size/fullscreen option for the next LD. As for typos and strange sentences in the help, those were text written around 1 hour before submitting the game and I'm not a native speaker, and I do remember having issues clearly describing every minigame with few words ^^
@prepparedheathen Thanks! Yep, difficulty and window size are the main complains I recieve on this game.
Impressed how you managed to pull together a whole series of mini-games into a single weekend ludum dare game.
Liked the art and story setting. The take on the theme was really solid. I didn't love the heartbeat mechanic. I did like that each organ minigame was slightly different than the others.
Nice game! I like the graphics and the cool music.
But hard, pfew! I would like some audiovisual feedback to tell me whether I pressed the key at the right time. It also took me a while to understand that the 5 pictograms show the health score of each component. The first few plays, it was a surprise why it died and what the scores shown in the end meant.
Cool that you made 5 minigames into one game. For me, the soaking up of the blood was an impossible game, but the other minigames were playable.
Well done!
Nice game :slight_smile: Never got far bc of lacking multitask ability, but cool gfx and atmosphere :thumbsup:
Nice game! The main problem is that it has too many points of attention along with merciless timer. These just doesn't allow me to be involved enough into each minigame. Nevertheless I like the whole idea and atmosphere! :thumbsup:
Cool game with nice mecanics. Its difficult juggling so many tasks but the fact that its on a small screen helps.
